Merrill Gardens

After a lot of research and consideration, my sisters and I selected Truewood by Merrill in Glen Riddle for an assisted living facility for our Mom. I has turned out to be a fantastic choice! Mom is very happy with her comfortable apartment, the caring and attentive staff, and the friendly social life that this community has to over. I would give it five stars if they manage to hire more staff for the dining room; it’s the one complaint Mom consistently has that they are very short staffed at meals. Overall, though, this has proven to be a wonderful choice!

I would pop in and some places wanted you to have an appt or it wasn't clean. MG had no issue with me popping in at any time and I was never disappointed. They answered all my questions and more as I thought of things. It doesn't matter what time of the day you drop in to visit there's always friendly faces, clean smell and elderly people living there having a good time.

Staff is very nice/activities to involve mom/she is safe and cared for. The one thing that a place for mom did have wrong was that they were all inclusive and prices would not change depending on level of care in the memory center. I did find that out on my initial visit and of course price rose by over a thousand within a few months. Overall great place!

Barkley Place is well organized and sufficiently managed. The assisted living portion of the facility is all on the bottom floor with the cafeteria and all other services. Meals are good, well portioned, and served promptly. Recreation programs and events are vast - something for everyone and adaptive. The nurse and aide services are capable, careful, and responsive. The management and administration section is helpful and responsive to concerns. Military Veterans are very welcome, meet monthly for lunch, and supported. Facility security, procedures, and cleanliness are well done at Barkley Place.

I like that they have parking there and based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Truewood by Merrill to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

All homes for the elderly have problems...mainly finding and retaining good employees, including management. Merrill Gardens is not perfect, but is better than the rest overall and that's why I selected it for my friend. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of assisted living.

It's good as an assisted living facility. When his level of care went up, they couldn't provide as much care as he needed.

Merrill Gardens is a very clean community and their staff members are great. The meals are ok, it seems to be the same bland items. However at least its by order and not a buffet. There are almost no physical activities. There is only chair aerobics which our loved ones scoffs at. It just seems to lack creativity. I recommend it for a social person with limited physical needs. Meaning. It's in the city and really no place safe to go for a walk.

Truewood by Merrill Fig Garden is Independent Living with a lot of rules. The housekeeper that does my mom's apartment is not very friendly and hates animals. They have a lot of fun activities for the residents. They also provide transportation for Dr appointments.

The overall facility was very pleasant and quiet. We are currently looking for a facility for our mom. this is the running. Thank you.

What our family likes the most about Truewood by Merrill, Charlotte Center is the staff, floor plan and common area set up. We also like that the front door is locked at night. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families but with caveats.

The facility is convenient and in a good location. Merrill Gardens should pay more attention to cleanliness of the Garden Center (memory care) and the main dining room on the first floor. The caregivers are top notch. The management needs to be replaced. Unprofessional and rude.

My loved one was previously a resident at Merrill Gardens at Willow Glen and the overall experience was good. The cleanliness was great. The friendliness, staff and meals were all good. The value for cost was okay. Overall, based on our experience, I would recommend Merrill Gardens at Willow Glen to others.

I am currently a resident at Truewood by Merrill Pinole and the overall experience has been good. The cleanliness is okay, but could use some improvement. The friendliness of the other residents is great, of the staff is good. The staff is adequate in most cases. The food is spotty, good somedays and others not so much. The activities are fair, but somewhat lacking in my opinion. As for the value for cost, initially I researched and found this facility was the most reasonably priced in the area. However, some days the food makes one think it is not such a good deal.

The staff at Merrill Gardens West Chester has been very helpful and accessible.

We love the atmosphere of Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills and we love all the different activities they have going on for the residents there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Our family has been very happy with the facility and we had a great first impression. It did not seem like a "nursing home" - it is clean, it smelled nice and there are a lot of open spaces. The residents who live there also seemed happy to be there.

Overall, our experience has been good. My mother is happy there.

I feel like my step mom is safe here. The quality of food is a bit low, but that is due to the limited budget they're working with in my opinion. Overall- safe place, where I don't worry that mom has help when needed, affordable for what she gets, and the staff is usually looking out for the residents best interest.

Everyone is very friendly at Truewood by Merrill, Roseville. When it comes to the cleanliness it could be cleaner. Most of the staff are very friendly. The meals are good. The one thing I don't like is that it is not restaurant style. Like everyone eats at the same time. They should have meals for several hours. Not everyone wants to eat at 8 or 12:30 or 5:30. There could be a few more activities, but good. For the value for cost it is good, as of now.
