Merrill Gardens

I was happy my Mother was safe and taken care of there. I would recommend it.

All the staff members were outstanding. They were professional and very helpful. The food was substandard for the high quality of the facility. I thought it would be better. I thought the [fee removed] was too much for the apartment size. The [fee removed] was worth the safety and security that my mother needed.

We really love it here! The main thing I love about this is it has FRIENDLY RESIDENTS!! The reason there were a few low scored is because a substitute nursing agency works at night and they did not take precautions and she fell. My family goes to the facility almost every day. You need to be in there often especially in the beginning to get to know the staff so they know your loved ones needs.

If she had more money, I would prefer she were in a different assisted living facility. I have some issues with billing. The food is really good, but the menu is limited compared to other places we looked at.

The facility has been recently renovated and is fresh and bright. There is a good resident to staff ratio and the food quantity and quality are good. The price for service is fair. The communication from staff could be better.

The staff has been pretty consistent. Many of the staff have worked there a long time. They do not need to contract with agencies to staff shifts, which is great. The staff are all very friendly and responsive to my mother-in-law and our family. Overall, we are very happy with our choice! I also want to thank A Place for Mom with all of your help in our search. You really were so helpful!

It was a great experience. I picked them because of my gut feeling.

Well I don't live there but my Mom has been there for just over a year now and although no place is perfect it is just great for her. The staff is very warm and friendly and seems to know their residents very well.

The quality of care was addressed and fixed. They are working on the meals. They have a new manager there that is changing a lot in just the past couple weeks. My Mom likes her a lot! She said she already sees a big difference.

. I do not regret the decision to move here. The cost and the staff and the pet-friendly environment. My dog really likes it

What I like the most about Truewood by Merrill is the friendliness of everyone. Staff and residents. A lot of remodeling and repairs are being completed. Staying in the room is hard for long stretches of time.

The care at Merrill Gardens is exceptional. When my dad passed they cared for him and for us in such an exceptional way. My mom is now there on her own and feels safe and supported. The fee system is opaque and virtually impossible to understand but worth the work for such a wonderful and caring environment.

My mother is in the memory care part of the facility. The staff is very friendly. The snacks are very bland. Some of her clothes are missing or she has other peoples clothes. She seems to have pink-eye a lot.

There were too many outbreaks of diseases. Not much in the variety of meals served to residents. Also, there was too much alcohol served.

I am not using the care services and when it comes to the meals and dining service the food is awful. For the value for cost it keeps increasing of course. I would recommend this community with qualifications. Maybe they all have weaknesses?

Really good food at beginning. Gone down since then. Staff great and helpful however activity director seems to want to control the movies we see. Too bad they did a lot of fixing up and I am sure our rent will go up significantly

My mom is very happy. She plays cards every day with a group of women. She is also teaching sign language class once a week to the residents. And she does chair exercises there. She is much happier there than she ever thought she could be.

What we like about Merrill Gardens is the overall cleanliness and staff and I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience I have had.

They are helpful and friendly. One reason I picked this community is because they have a washer and dryer.

Barkley Place is a nice place to live. The food is good. At times they run out of things that should not happen. Service is decent most of the time, and at times poor. Management is good to work with, but you need to remind them at times.All and all it is a nice place and very secure.
