I am a current resident who has resided in Canterfield's Independent Living residence areas for over one year. I have been surprised at how quickly Canterfield has become my home. The food is excellent, with menues that change weekly. The wait staff are professionals who have become extended family. We not only have a full service gym and saline pool, but in-house nurse practitioner and physical/occupational/ speech therapists are available. I would not hesitate to recommend Canterfield to my friends and family.

[name removed] , [name removed] and [name removed] have made my transition so smooth. The food here is great! We have plenty of options. Aides and nurses are wonderful and answer call buttons promptly. I love it here!

The caregivers and staff are angels! They respect and are trustworthy and show love for all their residence. They show tolerance for all the types of behaviors. How they do this is magic. I know I couldn’t do it. What a wonderful group of people.

In the beginning I was hesitant to leave my mom in someone else’s care. We’ve had a few minor incidents in the past but they were quickly taken care of. I am happy with the care and love my mom receives daily and more importantly my mom is happy and has made many friends with the residents and staff. I feel very confident that she is being well taken care of.

The food served in the independent dining room is extremely good with an excellent variety. They serve soup, salads, appetizer and a choice of 5 entrees and dessert. The menu changes weekly. Sunday buffet is full of hot and cold choices.

The food at Canterfield is always good!! The chef and his staff prepare a Variety of different choices of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts weekly. You can also choose from a variety of sandwich’s and side items. The onion rings are fantastic!! The Chef and staff will gladly customize your meal from the menu selections. And, Sunday brunch is fantastic! It is buffet style that has multiple offerings that changes weekly.

Canterfield is a wonderful place to live. Several years ago my now deceased husband moved into the memory care portion of the property and he was happy and well treated. In 2021 it became beneficial for my sister and me to sell my large house and relocate. Naturally, I thought of Canterfield;however, we visited numerous properties before making our chose to live in the independent portion of Canterfield. PS The food is delicious and the menus are varied!

I would highly reccomend Canterfield of Kennesaw for your loved one. After visited a neighbor there a few years back, my Dad wanted to move in there. He was so lonely in his condo and longed for the companship of others and was impressed with the amount of activities available for the residents. We checked it our as throughly as we could and we are very happy that he was able to places here. The majority of the staff really care about the residents and that is most important criiteria for a wonderful facility. Dad is very happy here and we are very happy that such a wonderful facility is available for him.

If I selected a place for myself, then I would select Canterfield of Oak Ridge.

Not only is this Facility Clean and Beautiful, it has caring staff. They go out of their way to help residents and family. They assist in transport to Appts which is a help because we own trucks and Our Dad can’t get in them, free of charge. They have activities for the residents and they are 5 minutes from Walmart. They do an excellent job on the residents laundry. I would recommend them highly.

I think the most important thing is how supportive the staff are. The facility is not even half full yet, so my parents don't have as many friends yet, but the activities director is awesome. They have a really nice outdoor pool and a nice gym. The facility itself is perfect inside, but the location isn't great. The view is of a 24/7 daycare center behind their building, and it's not in a clan part of town, although I think the area is gradually starting to be cleaned up.

Our mom moved here from an independent living apartment in Gainesville to be closer to me. We loved visiting her, staff were always friendly. Mom enjoyed her stay here. When her dementia worsened, she moved into the Memory Care unit and received excellent care. No place is ever going to be perfect and staffing shortages are everywhere in this industry, but we always felt she was cared for with love and dignity. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I would highly recommend you look here. Mom passed last month and I miss her terribly but I also miss going to visit with her Canterfield family. We couldn't have found a better place for her to live.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The community seem to care about the residents as an individual and not just a monetary figure. One of the staff members worked with us and went above and beyond to get my loved one into the community and worked with hospice well. The staff here were phenomenal to work with overall.

We had a great tour at Canterfield of Fort Myers. We found it to be a very pleasant community - they were actually our 2nd choice. The place that we chose was just closer to where we live, and we liked the facility a little better.

Canterfield of Oak Ridge is a really nice, and clean environment. The community wasn't designed very well for memory care. There needs to be more structure for this,. This would be a great place for independent living.
