Maplewood Senior Living

The people here are absolutely beautiful human beings that i don't know what my mother would have done with out them. Not only my mom but my family has felt comfort and peace knowing that she is well cared for and with the people that know her so well. I am so grateful to all of the staff at Maplewood at Orange.

My mom moved from another local assisted living facility into Maplewood at Orange this year. I tell everyone about Maplewood at Orange. From the care staff, to the food, the management, the beauty of the building- I cannot say enough. My mother is thriving and enjoying her life in a whole other aspect.

In 2019, my husband fell at home and required rehab. Given the timing and need, Maplewood was the facility that really stepped up to accommodate. We were content right away because of the happy people like the CNA’s, the dining staff, the front desk and especially the Activity Department. As my husband progressed, so did his needs. His safety was number one and received constant attention. Each one had a special interaction. Activities would always bring him peanut butter cups. One aid would dance with him, one would have a pet name, another one would always salute him, knowing he was a Marine. All of these wonderful people are my angels! These touches made his life much better. In December, he passed away. Everyone was so concerned about me and I received flowers, many cards and lots of hugs! I will never forget the kindness, love and caring that we received while living there. I have a feeling that nothing will ever meet the love, concern and caring we experienced at Newtown.

I would suggest you consider this community first. They have the best care, engaging the residents, and assisting with getting acquainted in the community. The food is amazing. The menu is like a restaurant menu, and the chef is local. They try to get all their food locally as well. One example of dinner is duck breast, liver and onions, or steak tips.

Our parents love the meals and dining service as well as the bingo. The staff is very friendly and its a very warm, friendly, inviting and nice atmosphere.

I am a local attorney in the area and often work with clients who have cognitive deficiencies. One of my clients asked me to serve as her conservator (guardian) if she needed assistance. When that time came, it was clear to me that she needed a caring environment with staff who could take care of her and understand her health issues, both emotional and physical. I found that at Maplewood at Stony Hill. My client is always clean when I visit (which is never scheduled so always a surprise) and she is engaged by the activities afforded to her. This is a real challenge as she is not easily engaged. I am so thankful for the care that the staff gives her and for the medical care the nurses give her (they are very communicative with me regarding her care issues). I heartily recommend Maplewood at Stony Hill.

I am a private aide of a client there. We sought out this facility because it is very safe from covid. This facility not only checks temperatures of anyone going in but also of individuals going out. The staff are all very caring and the new CEO listens to the residents to help make improvements. The facility is very beautiful and they offer a lot of activities. They have a lot of concerts in a beautiful outdoor setting. The food is healthy and great quality. This is the best facility around and it is a pleasure to be able to help my client here.

Our mother has been a resident at Mill Hill for 6 months. We have been extremely happy with all of her care. The staff are very kind and professional. She raves about how good the food is. The activities offer the residents a chance to get out and to socialize with other seniors. We feel very comfortable ,when we are not visiting , that she is well cared for and safe. We highly recommend Mill Hill.

I have been very pleased with the care my husband has received over the past year in the Memory Care unit at Mil Hill Residence. He is treated with respect and kindness and every effort is made to include him in daily activities. It was such a difficult decision to make, but I feel he is in the best place for the kind of care needs. Everything is transparent, and I am always kept informed of any changes or problems. The leadership is very responsive.

Our tour was wonderful. They were lovely, and I really liked them. They offered both assisted living and memory care, and that was my only point of concern - that our loved one with Alzheimer's might get lost in the layout or have more opportunity to wander off. We selected another community simply based on the layout, which was exclusively memory care. Because of that, they had a lot of neat features to cater to the residents' enjoyment and safety. They were also decorated more to his taste. Although Maplewood Strawberry Hill was decorated nicely as well.

It was a difficult task to find an assisted living for my dad and his wife who has Alzheimer’s. Every place I looked at had his wife locked away in a memory unit 24/7. Maplewood has an amazing program called Tides where my dad and his wife are on the same floor in separate rooms but they can be together as often as they want and she still gets the care she needs. The facility is absolutely beautiful. It’s like being on a cruise ship. So many activities for both of them everyday. Food is amazing, I’ve had a few meals there. Very clean, updated facility. Rooms are updated and beautiful. Now to the staff. [name removed] the executive director is amazing and helped me through this whole process. The rest of the staff is so kind and caring I can’t say enough. I know I picked the right place for them and they both will thrive there! Best decision I’ve made!

The staff is very caring and work with you. They genuinely care about the residence. The community is neat and clean and the food is great. They have activities available for the residence and I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Maplewood at Mayflower Place has been truly outstanding throughout this pandemic! They have prioritized the health and safety of their residents to the highest level and as a physician I know first-hand how much work, care and planning this takes. They must be one of the top in the country with their efforts and dedication to the well-being of their residents and the impact this has had in keeping a vulnerable population safe during this pandemic. I am so grateful to their dedicated leadership and staff and I am so thankful for all that they have done and continue to do for my mom and the other residents!

The community is very neat and clean and the food is very good. They have activities going on for the residence to participate in and the staff is friendly. They have done a great job taking care of our loved ones. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The community did a great job communicating with our family and keeping us updated. I would have liked to see more staff in the memory care facility but they were very attentive and there was always someone around. They were open to feedback and always made up feel heard. I’d like to say that our time at Maplewood was filled with such caring, calming and helpful people. All of the directors and staff seemed to always go above and beyond anything we expected. My father’s stay was truly a blessing and never for a moment did we have to think twice about his care during his time being at this amazing memory care facility.

We had to take my husband’s 89 year old father to live with us when his wife died suddenly in October. After about two weeks of living with him, we realized that we were going to need help. We could not leave him alone because he was confused, lonely and becoming frail. So we contacted a few assisted living places and visited. When we got to Maplewood at Brewster, we knew it was going to be the right fit. From the first visit in October until now, [date removed], we couldn’t be happier. The facility and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are lovely. Our dad loves the food, and the staff is helpful, welcoming and friendly. Everyone worked extra hard through the pandemic to keep all the residents and staff safe, and we were informed of what was happening every step of the way. We can’t wait for activities to resume in full and look forward to many happy years at Maplewood.

My parents chose to spend their remaining years at Maplewood at Newtown. They never regretted it. The facility itself is beautiful - modern, clean and comfortable. But what makes Maplewood exceptional are the staff, who often feel more like extended family. Whether a resident is fully independent, or in need of extensive oversight, their needs are equally well met. The staff are compassionate and attentive. Medical care from the nurses is excellent. There are a multitude of activities across a wide spectrum to keep the residents engaged – lectures, art classes, live musicians, fitness classes, to name a few. I have no hesitations in recommending Maplewood to my friends and family.

They are very friendly, responsible, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. There is always someone there to answer my questions of my loved one. The rooms were nice during our tour of Maplewood Stoney Hill.

Very nice facility. Well laid out. Lots of onsite amenities. More aggressive in making sure socialization occurs. Well organized. Units are much larger and more pleasant and easier to personalize, more like an apartment vs. a bedroom. Nice skylights and frontage to rooms to make it appear more home-like vs. clinical.
