I would recommend Whitehall Manor to others.

They have a medical alert system however it depends on the staff, they seem to have a lot of turnover. Sometimes it takes them half an hour to an hour to answer a call. They do not know if it is a true emergency or someone asking for something else, there is no other way to communicate with the residents. They do have some wonderful staff who have been here a very long time. It is all aids that are working, no nursing staff -another big issue. No full time nurse, just a doctor on call but he is not in the building. There are not many activities other than bingo. As far as food is concerned, I can only go by what my loved one tells me, but she says it is very unappealing and cold. Basically no vegetables served with meals. Overall there are just some improvements they need to make.

Things are starting to settle down after the big move and merging of the residents which caused confusion. However when we do bring up questions or concerns to the staff they are very cooperative and try their best to accommodate. They also seem to have a lot of activities going on.

To be honest I would highlight the overall conditions especially the living units. My dad is not a social bug so he does not get out and interact. He dislikes the food. Since he is independent he has the ability to cook frozen dinners and he is happy. He does go to breakfast. Maintenance is good and staff is friendly. I like they all get the panic buttons in case they fall. The cleaning staff has been reliable. It is just a shame about the food. I would not discourage anyone from looking into or moving in. The price is amazing compared to the others we looked on your referral list.

It looked okay on the surface but wasn't sure about anything else.

The community is very caring. The administrator has been very attentive to the family's needs. I believe the community is understaffed like other communities nowadays. They are very compassionate when caring for the residents. There have been times my loved one has fallen a few times during their stay here. The community forgot to call me and tell me that my loved one was at the hospital. I found out by getting test results from the hospital. This shouldn't have been happening due to the stage of life my loved one is at. The food is catered in, and it is the typical community food. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

My loved one was in Saucon Valley Manor for 5 years. It is an excellent facility and we had a great experience here. The only reason I moved her was because the location was getting too far for me to drive to every day.

We had a really good first interview with [name removed] she was very enthusiastic about the Parkland Manor. Based on our experience so far we would recommend this community to others.

It would be a good place to send someone who needs assistance on a regular basis. They're very willing to do anything you ask, for you or your loved one. Overall it's what I expected. At times you might smell an accident. but overall they work very hard at keeping the place clean and keeping up with hygiene of the residents. It would be nice to see their staff levels higher, but that's not their fault. Everyone is experiencing shortages right now. With the people they do have, they do a darn good job.

The staff members are very friendly but we do wish they could improve on their internal communication more. Right due to covid our loved one has complained about the meals and dining, the food is not being served on the regular plates but now on paper plates. The activities started out being very good but now they have cut back, however we would still recommend this community to others

The food is horrible, and my loved one doesn't like the food. I would recommend looking into a new community due to the food choices. The food seems to be cold when it is delivered.

Our family had an in person tour and it was very nice and we liked how the apartments were private and how clean everything was.

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are well thought out. Dining is varied and lots of choices. Unfortunately the place is short staffed in many areas of service

We chose Saucon Valley Manor because it was closest to my sister and I and they also had a single room readily available when we needed it. The room that she had was huge, it was actually meant for 2 people but she was the only one in there. I have seen the single ones as well and they are spacious. The outside area of the facility is very nice. They do have all levels of care provided, they offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care. All of the staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating. When she was put on hospice, I do think that we should have been able to go in and see her whenever we wanted to, they were way too strict on their protocols there.
