They have a new Executive Director who is making positive changes with all aspects of care and the facility. The staff are friendly, but only a few are proactive and genuinely show care for the patients. It's probably normal in this setting. Housekeeping is generally good, Mom's room isn't dusted regularly, or surfaces cleaned regularly like the sink in the bathroom, but the floor is vacuumed, trash emptied, and toilet cleaned daily. The common areas are generally clean. There isn't a smell and there is new carpet. As for communication, it is very hard to get through on the phone. It almost always goes to voice mail. The move in process was good. They helped with the physical moving of furniture and were accommodating with her preference to what she kept of her own or used that they had. There is no real cooking, just heating of frozen or prepackaged foods. They will make something different if the person doesn't want what's served. They have sandwiches that are made with chicken salad, etc. They look pretty good. There is a good variety of food and fresh elements. They serve seconds if the person wants it. One suggestion for improvement: providing a happier atmosphere during meals would be nice...like music in the background. Amenities include having a hair stylist, planned outings, visiting entertainment, movie night, plants on the patio out back and a raised gardening area for the residents. If Mom were dependent upon staff for more personal care, I would not be happy with her there. I would recommend Sanford Senior Living and Manor for people who are mobile and able to make their needs known. I feel that mom is safe there, she's happy and theft hasn't been a problem. It might not fit everyone's needs, but it fits my mom's needs.

A PLACE FOR MOM was extremely friendly and helpful. Could not have found a place for mom without their help. I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of the cost, and it was friendly.

For the price it is nice. The remodeled rooms are done well and the service is average. We picked this community because of the location and price.

I recently toured Sanford Senior Living looking for a place for my dad. The lady that offered the tour was personable and friendly. It appeared clean and the few folks I saw seemed to be happy. I liked that they offered optional menus for lunch and dinner and I was shown their activities schedule which had a various things on it. Maybe it was the timing but was hoping for a more active community for my dad. For the price, it is a place we are considering.

The people are nice, but if there is a real need for assistance, look at other options. It was the ONLY place that had significant diversity in staff and residents. The meals are not healthy and balanced (in my opinion). High salt, lots of pork...limited fresh fruits and vegetables.

There have been some recent changes in staff at the key positions so we are still accessing. Our loved one has also recently been in rehab so we have not been at Ansley in a bit.

Our loved one has only been at Quillen Manor Assisted Living for about a month, but so far she seems to really be enjoying the activities they have. The different activities they have going on there for the residents is bingo, and they also have a hair and nail salon.

I would give all 5 but have a few issues with billing they don't seem to concerned about fixing. I have stated several times we will do her laundry but they keep wanting to charge me 55 a month to do. Also with dining I've told them repeatedly not to bring food to her room because they charge 3 every time they do. Her memory is not there so when they ask if she wants them to bring her something she says yes because she forgets they charge for that. Every time I bring it up they say they will take care of it but they never right anything down. So that tells me they are just trying to push it off. If they would respond to problems like this it would be all 5's.

We toured Brookdale Central during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my mother. This facility was very nice. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. However, our tour guide and sales person was a little pushy.

Osprey Manor is a nice place, slightly aging but generally in good shape. It is kept clean, the garbage is picked up on time. The maids clean the rooms once a week. The grass is cut weakly. They are having the walkways and railing power washed. The staff are very friendly and the maintenance issues are dealt with promptly. The meals and dining service are on time and decent but there are not a lot of activities. However the value is a good deal for the cost.

My loved one is a resident at Fairforest Grove Senior Living. We moved him here from another facility, he's been here for awhile now and the experience has been good. His room is always clean. He enjoys sitting in the TV area and he appears to be well kept. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The food is okay. The staff is great, also.

I believe Carolina Gardens is a relatively safe facility, and they try to have varied and interesting activities for residents. Maintenance staff is helpful and kind as well. Sometimes they are understaffed. Most staff are super nice. One or two staff members are not as kind and somewhat abrupt with my mom when she is frustrated.

Pros: The staff of caretakers are extremely friendly at memory care. Cons: I think they could improve on the cleanliness in individual residents rooms. Overall, I would recommend Fairforest Grove to others looking.

There was a great lack of communication between the facility and my mother's family. They did not answer the phone when we called. When we did call and had questions they would say they would call us back. They didn't return calls. We had to go see the personnel in person to communicate.

We picked this community, because I felt the smaller size of the place would be a better fit for my sister. In the assisted living area the staff is wonderful, great rooms & great activities. I have recommended Grand Villa for our cousin. My sister has been moved to the memory care side a few months ago & still adjusting to the changes & not ready to rate that.

We toured Florence Place when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved ones. Our tour guide and the staff that we talked to were very friendly and helpful. However, the facility didn't fit our needs for our loved ones.

Our loved one spent about a month at Brookdale Central and overall we thought it was a good experience.

They seemed to be very short on staff near the end of our loved ones stay. Our main complaint was for the meals, there were too many sandwiches that were served. Most night meals were sandwiches. Inactive people don't need that much bread in their diets.

The staff at Atria Forest Lake is extremely friendly and involved, and the food is great. It does not feel like a nursing home. Small staff to patient ratio is a plus.

I would like to say overall it was a very nice facility. The care and attention that my dad received was excellent there were however some instances with the administrator that I think should have been addressed but seem to have fallen through the cracks. While she didn't seem to care about my father's issues with the pendant and pull strings in his room and seem to think it was taken care of other staff acknowledged the fact that the room my father was in was having all sorts of troubles with the alert system which caused extreme pain to my father a couple of nights in a row. I reiterate the staff was very helpful and conscientious of my father and responded to all of the false alarms and unfortunately failed to respond to the alarms when he needed it the most. No fault of theirs. I'm sure it was a staffing issue. She also seemed to be unaware of some very basic items that could have been an issue with my father like the inability of their staff to be able to administer oxygen through nasal cannula or a face mask. She kept telling me it was something they weren't trained for but the hospice nurse looked up the regulations and proved her wrong. That they were indeed allowed to administer oxygen through nasal canyon or face mask just that they weren't allowed to change the oxygen flow as that was the prescription something that the administrator should have known
