My dad is in the memory care area and the staff on that end knows all their names, and when my dad's ear popped they had a doctor there the next day to see him. They have a lot of games they do with the people and they have therapy animals that come and visit. I would like to say that the dining room looks like a restaurant sit-up. The staff has helped my mom with her paperwork for the insurance and they know her by her first name. The Grand Villa is a beautiful place.

My mother has enjoyed her stay here. They have excellent activities for the residents. The building is always fresh and clean. Very home like atomosphere with a very experinced care team. We couldn't ask for anything better and by the way, the food is delicious.

My mother-in-law is a resident here. The place is always clean. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.

I can't say enough about this community. Within one week of moving in, he has become more social, and thoroughly enjoys being around the other residents. He no longer lays around, in his bed all day. They do a good job of encouraging socialization. He is now involved in daily exercise class and activities. He talks about how much he enjoys the food. We are thrilled.

Very clean, good food, nice open floor plan, and good for walking. Dedicated, and kind staff. Regular activities.

This was a nice community. It felt more structured and felt like a nursing home. It wasn't the right fit for my loved one.

Everybody has been really nice and it is easily accessible to get in and out. They do a great job of offering plenty of activities for residents, even though my mom doesn't participate, the staff still try to encourage her to go. They do have a pet therapy program and she does enjoy that. We have been very pleased with our experience at Carolina Gardens and would definitely recommend the facility to others.

We moved our mom here right before Christmas last year and everyone was extremely helpful in helping her get settled. As with everything in life, there was a period of adjustment. Now, 6 months later, Mom is having a super time. The activities and camaraderie have brought the life back into her. She gets up every day looking forward to whatever new is on the agenda. She can also go back to her apartment whenever she just wants a little quiet time. The employees, which have become part of her family, are great. Mom's comfort and security means the rest of her family can relax and sleep better knowing she is in good hands.

I would recommend this place to everyone! :-) Moved mom here after a bad experience with another assisted living home. American House was perfect and the the staff is awesome. Mom loved the activities, residents and dining. She was so happy and was enjoying life again. Everyone is so friendly and engaging with the residents. It meant the world to me to see her so happy. We searched hard to find the best place for our mom and it was American House Orange City. From the first visit they made us feel we had found a home that mom could thrive and have fun. As we visited her multiple times a week we became a part of the family with our mom and the staff. From the administrative staff, medical staff, dietary, janitorial, maintenance and activities-everyone working there is plugged in, communicative, caring & understanding and ready to help. They go above and beyond to treat each resident as an individual and make a plan in a situation that best suits that family within the guidelines of their work. They held our hand through the painful process of how to make difficult choices for our mom and even through the painful goodbye. As a matter fact months and months later they are still checking in on us. There’s not enough good things we could say to illustrate how positive our experience with AHOC was for our family. Our mom, [name removed], loved her AHOC family!

The entire staff treated our Mom like she was their Mom. They welcomed us girls as family as well. Mom passed away in [date removed] and we still keep on touch with the wonderful staff. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, this is the place!!!! I highly recommend this loving place!!!
