We recently relocated my mother-in-law from assisted living in South Carolina to Northern Virginia. We explored the variety of assisted living options, visited seven in-person and although all would have met the need, we selected Heritage Village largely based on the quality of the facilities, the observed quality of staff and the depth of offered services. Since moving in early January, she has settled in and is doing well. I visit her often and continually interact with staff to be sure that she is receiving the level of care that she needs. I find staff to be available, responsive and caring in their interactions with her. The net is that we are happy with our choice and look forward to seeing her health and wellbeing improve in her new home.

As my husband’s Parkinson’s disease progressed it became clear last December that we could no longer safely manage the ever increasing challenges together. A Place for Mom arranged a tour of Havenwood for daughter, son and myself. We were impressed with the facility immediately. It is clean, the apartments are spacious, well- planned and have good storage. My husband’s studio apartment was spotless on move in day. He likes the food, fitness center and varied activities offered. His care needs are met within reasonable time. Everyone has been very kind and welcoming. Clarendale is an extremely nice place. The staff has treated the complete family great. Everything is extremely clean and orderly. We haven’t eaten there yet; however, the food looks terrific and the quantity is unbelievable. A very nice place for your love one.

Very open. A good community. Worked with me to find the right apartment. I have selected this facility for my new home. I will move in soon.

We visited three retirement communities for my mother and nothing compared to Lake Port Square. The facilities are amazing and the staff could not be more accommodating. Even after you move in the staff is in constant contact with you to make sure the adjustment is going well. I highly recommend Lake Port Square.

Need to find where your loved one is most comfortable. Her choice. Room. Pt facility overall feel is what stuck out over other facilities.

We find the nursing and aides team highly communicative. They do a great job of keeping me updated on my dad's needs or issues. Also, all seem very caring. Many staff on admin and nursing teams have longevity w Freedom Square in their roles. You don't always see that in other AL communities.

We moved to the Delaney in October only to find FRIENDLY RESIDENTS & STAFF. The staff is always more than ready to respond to any issue that needs to be addressed - even as insignificant as a light bulb replacement. The 3-meals a day here are delicious. There is also plenty of entertainment for us including frequent outings for shopping, doctor appointments & various trips to local restaurants. & other fun excursions. We also have a well-equipped exercise facility with instructors available or at your own pace. There is a Doctor on site also. My husband & I could not be happier. In fact we have referred a very dear friend to the Delaney. She will be joining our Delaney family next week! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new place to call home.

Quality of care hard to rate as we did not use their care. But based on what was offered I would say 5 compared to other locations. Administrative staff 5 wonderful to work with! Yes, I would recommend this community to other families.

The staff is outstanding… Extremely caring and fun. They have a lot of really fun events. They just recently had a disco party. I'm sure my mom would also get a high glowing referral. The place is excellent. My mom is super happy.

Clarendale Clayton is a Very active community. Residents were asked what they liked and told me everything. Staff walked by residents and called them by name. Facility looks like a modern New York hotel Lobby.

Beautiful facility. Well kept. Staff is very friendly, always available to help out, as needed, and know residents by name, lending to a very familiar relationship. My dad enjoys the entertainment that they bring in periodically.

I have not moved in yet. My apartment should be ready [date removed] or so, but I've been there a few times for lunch. And they had a meet and greet cocktail party. Everyone seems very nice, agreeable, and seems they're having a lot of fun.

Honestly, I would have to rate a 5 for each one!! My Aunt [name removed] was there for almost 8 months before she passed. She felt so loved at The Avalon. The staff treated her with caring and respect. Every day they offered opportunities to socialize. The surroundings are beautiful, clean and inviting! They are a little more expensive than some of the other places we looked at, but it was definitely worth it!!!

The staff are extremely friendly, polite and as helpful as can be. The facility is not overcrowded and there many activities for the residents if they care to join in. The physical therapy program is very good and has been helpful to my mother. The food is good but the repetitious menu can frustrate, maybe adding something adventurous weekly would be welcome. Overall, we are pleased with our choice of The Avalon.

My experience at Monarch Landing has been the best that I could’ve imagined. Moving from my house of 48 years was heartbreaking but the staff made it as easy as possible. People are so friendly that I never pass a person, resident or staff, who doesn’t smile and greet me. There are so many menu choices, myriad of services on site, and trips to the theatre, concert halls, and restaurants, in addition to regular shuttle to grocery stores. Maintenance is at my service. Work orders are promptly attended to. Monarch has become my home and couldn’t be happier!

Staff is well-trained, fully credentialed. Windsor is the only place I have found that maintains an RN in Memory Care 7 x 24 which is very expensive but extremely useful ion dealing with issues that arise in the night.

Choosing an assisted living facility is never easy. The people at Bellingham made it easy. They were very easy to work with. The facility is clean. Everyone is very nice. The activities look like lots of fun. My aunt is doing good!

Everyone who showed us the apartment the three times we went was very knowledgeable. The sales team and contract team and nurse were all great helping us work through the meetings and sit downs. The apartment was very spacious and had plenty of room for furniture and accessories.

Parkwood became a great choice for my mom after my dad died. She found a community of new friends and a wonderful team of professionals who were there when needed. She spent seven years at Parkwood and enjoyed the ability to engage in daily activities with her friends. She also had the freedom to decorate her apartment as she wished, so she really made it her home. [name removed] and [name removed] consistently went out of their way to ensure mom was comfortable and safe. If ever there was a concern about my mom’s health or wellbeing, they were always quick to notify me. Parkwood is a hidden gem of a community and your loved one would be happy there.
