I had a nice tour of this community the staff answered my questions and did great on showing me around. I felt that the rooms were a bit small and I was not sure that it would be a good fit for my mom.

I moved into Bellingham 5 months ago and I am very happy with my decision. The grounds are gorgeous and the quality and variety of the food is tremendous. Overwhelmingly, Bellingham has the friendliest staff and residents of any community I have been to.

This is a brand new community. The people were nice and they offer daily activities. They allow pets. Mom just did not feel she was ready to move into a community yet.

The rooms were smaller at this community. The community is clean. The person that conducted the tour did seem pushy and I could not get my questions answered. They also have different levels of care and the price increases as the levels of care change.

I would recommend this community to others. They provide excellent meals and a good variety to choose from. Activities to help keep active and participate for enjoyment. The staff is very nice and always helpful here.I am very happy to be in a clean enviroment here.

It offered the exact thing I wanted. I was really interested in Aging in place, and they really had the whole package. I wasn't aware until I got there that there was a buy-in. The biggest thing I don't like is when they ring the doorbell and they run off, and leave the food sitting on the floor.

To be completely honest, I loved what I saw on my tour with the Executive Chef, as I have a culinary arts degree. I was rather disappointed that I arrived to find that my appointment had not been confirmed as the website A Place for Mom had suggested....this is not the only place I showed up without an appointment. I was totally impressed with their facility. The Chef could not answer most of my questions, he was taking me on a tour since everyone else was in a class. Seriously, not the fault of anyone except A Place for Mom. He was kind and answered all my questions as best as he could, and was so nice to print off the weekly menu for me because both my parents have dementia and getting them to eat is really an obstacle! I would have loved for my parents to have stayed here if it was closer to my home and I knew what exactly the fees were. It is possible that I did miss a call from this place due to the fact that I had to return to NC to take care of my parents. I did use my Clearwater home phone # as my contact.

There are many very good things to say about this facility. They are all in the company's brochure and do not need repeating here. Rather, I will focus on those things that can be improved upon. More encouragement from staff, perhaps even taking a firm lead, to get residents to attend activities suitable for their individual requirements/abilities/tastes. This would include the "take a stroll outdoors" events, especially for those with limited mobility or eyesight. I have heard residents respond to the question "How are you today?" with "I'm bored." "All I do is sit in my room and watch TV." "The nurse asked me 'what I want to do today' I said, go home." Strive to eliminate all negative responses to such questions. Yes, we're in Florida, but is it a requirement that all aides work on Florida Time? Step lively folks! At least give the impression that you like your work and are seriously interested in helping people who can no longer entirely take care of themselves. WAIT!!! How about thinking about whether you would be happy with your level of service when you reach your clients' age?

So far so good - Love the place. Mom was very scared initially. Since her husband of 72 years passed in April she is lost without him. She has Alzheimers, but appears to be settling in. For the price I would strongly recommend Eastcastle. Everyone has been courteous and helpful

My dad lived at Parkwood for ten years. The staff was consistently friendly and cooperative. The community atmosphere was just what dad was looking for, and he thrived. In the Parkwood community. One of the other things that sets Parkwood apart is that each apartment opens to the outside and faces a courtyard with a gazebo.

I think it's horribly expensive but it's comparable to everything around it so I guess it's fair. They have group exercise, movies, cards and games, and a group outing but they are not always happening when they say they're going to happen. My mother doesn't like the food but my father seems satisfied with it.

Overall, the location is good, quality and quantity of meals is great. Everyday working staff are helpful and friendly. The Sales Counselor, and Move-in Coordinator are fantastic. After 3 months, they still greet us with a smile and hug. Middle management staff is where the ball is dropped. Repeated questions by voicemail left are never returned. Never an answer or apology, nothing.

I think there is a lack of communication between Administrators and Front desk staff. The food is wonderful but the wait to be seated to eat can be lengthy. There are lots of activities in house during the day but nothing in the PM, assume because they would need to have paid staff. My mom would prefer more outside activities such as trips to movie theaters, library, local hs musicals etc. Bellingham bus trips are primarily limited to Walmart, grocery stores and doctors appointments.

Poor food. There was only one nurse for the entire facility at night. No one the answer the phone if you try to reach them after 5. Pretty much the food is terrible.

Nice environment, friendly staff. Very expensive for services, poor communication with management, sub par food, staff turnover.

The facility was very well maintained and clean and decorated professionally. It was very large. I was interested in memory care but got a very cursory tour of that part of the facility. I was asked a lot of questions about the person for whom the facility would be for and I didn't mind answering. I gave them permission to assess her upon my leaving. This That was on a Friday. On Monday morning, I received a text asking if I could give them persmission. I said that I had already done so verbally so they did not do what they said they were going to do. A couple of hours later, The sales person called and said the person did not meet suitability because of her medical history and her age. Age was not mentioned in the initial meeting. I had already made up my mind that Clarendale would not be suitable but this justified my decision. There was more information about how wonderful the facility was but very little about the actual care and concern they had for the memory care residents.

Overall, everyone was very friendly, nursing assistants, nurses and directors. We liked that they have activities planned and do their best to adjust things to the individual person's needs. We appreciate how family and friends are accepted when visiting. We like that it feels like our loved ones actual home rather than an institutional feel. We appreciate the care plan meetings. However *One person is making it a bit difficult to adjust because they have very specific ways and aren't willing to be flexible. That makes it awkward when trying to coordinate needs. *The Willow wing needs more in the way of décor to make it feel welcoming and stimulating. *Activities using the computer should also have tactile items and discussion to go along with it to draw people in. We like that there is in-house medical care that has a portal for easy messaging of the doctor directly

There is no doubt that this is a mega-complex for seniors, both independent and in some stage of necessary assistance. Having a skilled nursing staff is a bonus, as is having an on-site medical practice. But that also brings some disadvanteges (they reported to me an 11:1 staff to patient ratio during the day in memory care and 22:1 at night--though state regulations require 8:1, but since they can 'borrow from skilled staff when needed,' I guess they get by with the discrepancy. They were also quite dogmatic in how they deal with any special case. Other facilities had no problem with another 55+ person living with our potential resident. But here, they said the extra person would need to buy into another part of their facility (other than assisted living) and only visit between 8 and 8. Our hope was to have someone live with our father until he adjusts (paying for the extra bed in our father's room and meals, of course). Apparently, they're not set up to handle that.

I’ve had a generally positive impression of the community — the grounds are well maintained, and the facility is clean and orderly. The administrative and front desk staff have been courteous and helpful. However, I’ve found the nursing and aide staff to be at times difficult to reach and somewhat inconsistent in patient care. It often seemed unclear whether they fully understood their individual responsibilities, as there were several occasions when, rather than bringing medication to my mother, they instructed her to go to the nurses’ station on another floor, which is challenging given her limited mobility.

What the community could improve on would be the communication following through on what they say
