This is a brand new community. The people were nice and they offer daily activities. They allow pets. Mom just did not feel she was ready to move into a community yet.

The rooms were smaller at this community. The community is clean. The person that conducted the tour did seem pushy and I could not get my questions answered. They also have different levels of care and the price increases as the levels of care change.

I would recommend this community to others. They provide excellent meals and a good variety to choose from. Activities to help keep active and participate for enjoyment. The staff is very nice and always helpful here.I am very happy to be in a clean enviroment here.

It offered the exact thing I wanted. I was really interested in Aging in place, and they really had the whole package. I wasn't aware until I got there that there was a buy-in. The biggest thing I don't like is when they ring the doorbell and they run off, and leave the food sitting on the floor.

To be completely honest, I loved what I saw on my tour with the Executive Chef, as I have a culinary arts degree. I was rather disappointed that I arrived to find that my appointment had not been confirmed as the website A Place for Mom had suggested....this is not the only place I showed up without an appointment. I was totally impressed with their facility. The Chef could not answer most of my questions, he was taking me on a tour since everyone else was in a class. Seriously, not the fault of anyone except A Place for Mom. He was kind and answered all my questions as best as he could, and was so nice to print off the weekly menu for me because both my parents have dementia and getting them to eat is really an obstacle! I would have loved for my parents to have stayed here if it was closer to my home and I knew what exactly the fees were. It is possible that I did miss a call from this place due to the fact that I had to return to NC to take care of my parents. I did use my Clearwater home phone # as my contact.

There are many very good things to say about this facility. They are all in the company's brochure and do not need repeating here. Rather, I will focus on those things that can be improved upon. More encouragement from staff, perhaps even taking a firm lead, to get residents to attend activities suitable for their individual requirements/abilities/tastes. This would include the "take a stroll outdoors" events, especially for those with limited mobility or eyesight. I have heard residents respond to the question "How are you today?" with "I'm bored." "All I do is sit in my room and watch TV." "The nurse asked me 'what I want to do today' I said, go home." Strive to eliminate all negative responses to such questions. Yes, we're in Florida, but is it a requirement that all aides work on Florida Time? Step lively folks! At least give the impression that you like your work and are seriously interested in helping people who can no longer entirely take care of themselves. WAIT!!! How about thinking about whether you would be happy with your level of service when you reach your clients' age?

So far so good - Love the place. Mom was very scared initially. Since her husband of 72 years passed in April she is lost without him. She has Alzheimers, but appears to be settling in. For the price I would strongly recommend Eastcastle. Everyone has been courteous and helpful

My dad lived at Parkwood for ten years. The staff was consistently friendly and cooperative. The community atmosphere was just what dad was looking for, and he thrived. In the Parkwood community. One of the other things that sets Parkwood apart is that each apartment opens to the outside and faces a courtyard with a gazebo.

Our stay at the Presidential Place was very nice. Everhthing was very clean and the staff and otber guests were very nice. The best thing during my brother n law's stay was that the chef, who was also Hungarian, took the time to sing Hungarian songs with her. Her eyes would just light up when he would sing with her. Thank you very much to everyone at the Presidential Place.

I think it's horribly expensive but it's comparable to everything around it so I guess it's fair. They have group exercise, movies, cards and games, and a group outing but they are not always happening when they say they're going to happen. My mother doesn't like the food but my father seems satisfied with it.

What the community could improve on would be the communication following through on what they say

Overall rating was higher when she first moved in but a management change, change in chef for dining and maintenance change has given us pause as her dining experience, staff for cleaning and general issues is much inferior to our initial move in. Her room is what she rarely has an issue with (other than said cleaning). She also feels it's a struggle to get a change or addition to monthly outings for shopping.

Food quality and service is major reason I'm leaving. Best part is location for outside access to lawn area

There is a lot of staff turnover. The personnel that help get you acclimated are great. It's the health care that work directly with the client that changes. Overall my loved one was provided with good care.

My mom is very happy there. She has made several friends and enjoys all the activities. The pool and exercise areas are very nice. Overall we feel it was the right decision to move there. Was higher but now is not a good time. Short staffed. Staff turnover. Good gone downhill lately. People seem overworked. Cost high. Everything you do costs more money. They push for benevolence fund. The residents feel like they are having to support others. New resident not qualified to be there. They are having to help her find her room. Cost of [fee removed] to change apartments! Hearing a lot of negative at the moment. Plus the grill dining room looking dirty.

They had rotating nurses so there was a lack of communication with the staff. They were all professional and very friendly. The facility had great food. However as my father's health declined no one realized that he needed help eating. The facility was clean and well kept. The hospice group they recommended was not a good experience.

Memory Care unit did not provide the services we were hoping they would have provided. They were not sure how to deal with some of my mom's issues so in addition to paying Bellingham we had to get 24/7 care for her. When we moved her to a different facility we realized how Bellingham did not even try to deal with her situation. Very disappointing.

Staff overall is very friendly and considerate to the guests. Food service and quality has significantly decreased over the past 2 months. Staff retention seems to be part of the problem. I have heard a lot of complaints from people other than my mom. We eat with her a few times a month there and have seen it as well. A few positives - Very nice apartment and mom loves the pool/water exercises.

The food is fine. I'd give it 3 1/2 to 4, but if you don't eat in the dining room, it comes cold and in a brown bag this was my biggest complaint. I think they're all way overpriced. I would recommend this community to other families. My aunt was deaf and isolated herself so she didn't participate in any of the activities. I did see on the schedule what they were offering, and it looked like the other residence were enjoying themselves. The staff also seemed to be better than the other places she was in as well.

There a lot of positives however where it falls short is in the care. My sister is in level three assisted living. There are four levels. We had to get her an aide because although she could move up to level four, the care wouldn't improve. Many residents have now have aides. Once you have an aide they do less. They won't shower. They tell you have the aide do it. The hallways in the resident floors are very warm with little ventilation. My sister is on the third floor and it's beginning to smell badly. The apartments are kept clean however. I'm sure there are worse places. If they would just improve or do better supervision of the care staff the place would be great. Thanks for asking for an update.
