We had a little bit of a rough start, but my loved one seems to have settled in. Initially he moved in needing assisted living, but pretty quickly he needed to move to memory care. And at this point, we're very happy. Our experience has been good overall. It's challenging to navigate because it's all so new. But the memory care coordinator has been amazing. The food has been okay, and they seem to have more than enough activities if the resident is willing. I think the price seems comparable to other places in the area as well.

They are struggling a little bit with staffing like most other communities we assume, but the staff members we have met have been outstanding. With the staffing issues sometimes communication gets a little lost. The meals are wonderful, we have eaten there a few times and every time we were thoroughly impressed. We only visit every now and then so we aren't sure about all the activities, but they have an online program families can sign up for and follow along with what your loved one is participating in and what their interests are and what they have done for the week.

I enjoy the staff that work here; as well as the people who live here. Everybody is very helpful with great personalities. There is always somebody in the hallways saying “hello”. I attended my first town hall meeting last week. All resident voices were heard and listened to from staff members, which is very appreciated. The staff was eager to hear out any requests from each of my neighbors. They even went into details to explain something if somebody was unsure. The one disappointment I have with Richmond Place is that I am paying for an extra package I ordered for my cable when I thought all cable channels came with my monthly rent. I was informed at the town hall meeting that basic cable is only included with the rent and any extra packages are at my own expense.

It seems like a nice place. The facility is very clean. The people are very nice. The care is good. And they have plenty of activities.

One thing I really like about the location is the surrounding nature paths, but one thing I do not like about the location is that it is not walking distance to shops so if you want to go shopping you have to call a bus service. Overall, it is a great community.

We have the best residents. I absolutely love them to death. Just the whole environment is really nice. The people are friendly, and the staff are friendly. The staff are pretty responsive to anything we've needed or have had questions about. We love our apartment. We have 1-bedroom/1-bath, and that's all we really needed. This one has a den, and most of the other places we looked at didn't have that. So it's the perfect place for our kitty and a desk. The only issue we've had is the carpet didn't have any padding, which was hurting my feet. But when we mentioned it, they came and changed the carpet out for us. I would definitely recommend them.

They've made my mom feel really welcome. She has made multiple friends. They've had two lockdowns since she's been there, so it's been tough. But overall she likes it. This is her first time living in an apartment, so it has been a big change for her. But she loves her apartment. It's about the same size as her house was, and she has a nice balcony, which she enjoys. And she has a full kitchen, which allows her to keep cooking.

When we have had concerns or questions they were addressed quickly and professionally. They take the time to listen to you and if we aren't able to get a hold of someone they call back in a timely manner. We would recommend this community to others, and have recommend this community to others. When we needed them they were there, they give us peace of mind and we are able to sleep at night.

There are some very good things about Clarendale. The location is great, it is walking distance to everything you might need. The administrative staff are top notch and go out of their way to please you. The facilities are beautiful, clean, and well kept. They have tons of variety on apartment size and layouts. They do have quite a bit of activities provided, but they are in between activities directors right now. They have transportation on demand as well which is a big plus. They do have storage you can rent as well as covered parking. I do think they could use some improvement on food and the food service. They could focus on the quality and variety of the meals as well as how they administer the meals. I think they need some more accommodating kitchen staff. We are extremely pleased with our decision and their responsiveness, I just think they need to work on the food and food service.

I have been a resident in a garden home for 8 years and recommend the community to anyone ready to enjoy their "later years". The best thing about living here is that you meet so many interesting residents, many of whom have settled in Birmingham to be with their children or other family member. They are happy to begin new friendships in the beautiful facility and the surroundings.

They had dark décor and the community could us an update. They had very nice staff, though it wasn't the right fit.

It is a really great facility, but they are having issues with staffing recently. There is a lot of turnover happening and that is now impacting the food as well.

The friendliness of everyone really did stand out to us at first, the staff and residents were just very nice. Also, when we originally toured we got to see the apartment our loved one was going to be staying in, and it was brand new, nice and very clean.

Our family had an in person tour and Clarendale is a beautiful facility, they gave off a very good first impression.

We had an in person tour and it is a very nice community but it s very large. We thought for our friends situation a smaller community would be less overwhelming and easier to adjust.

The staff have been available when I've called them. There could be an improvement with the food. But the facility is pretty clean. There's a lot of activities going on. And they provide a shuttle back and forth to doctor appointments, which has helped me out a lot. You can get your hair cut at the facility, which is nice. They clean the apartments and do laundry for the residents. They also provide necklaces with an emergency call button for the residents to wear. It's expensive, and compared to other places they're a bit higher. But it has been very helpful, and we've been satisfied with them.

This community was just not homey, and did not give that warm feeling that we were looking for for our loved one. The tour people were very accommodating on the tour the community just did not fit our needs.

Mom is shifting from independent living to assisted living and I think when I was first interviewing, I was mistaken on some things. The staff has been just wonderful, they are really meeting mom and getting to know her and what her needs are. The food is truly wonderful and she really enjoys the meals. I would recommend independent living if you are truly independent, but I am not sure on the assisted living portion of the facility just yet.

We chose Freedom Village because they have continued care here, independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab, memory care, hospice. This is great because you do not have to move your loved one if they need more care. My dad decided he did not like the location of his room and they let him move rooms and they helped set up his new room for him which was helpful. The administrative is not good with communication and is slow to respond to messages I have left. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

They need more places for residents to be able to enjoy the outside. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience. The food is good and they do have lots of activities available.
