Our experience was positive. My visit was because I was helping a friend find an Age In Place facility. She did move in at Amavida a few months ago. We visited during construction but could see the vision. The showcased apartments were well kept and decorated nicely. The amenities offered provided something for everyone. Liked the weekly housekeeping and linen change. On our visit we meet a few residents and they all spoke highly of their new home. The Receptionist was always busy directing, answering questions/phone and always pleasant. [name removed] were also super helpful. It’s great that valet service is provided for residents. Food/drink options looked nice and the dining room was very well appointed.

My over all impression is good. My husband is a very pleasant person so he gets along well. I think he is as happy as he could be anywhere, because he would rather be home. The food is ok, what I've eaten has been good. There is a big variety. The staff have been very helpful... no problems. Activities are good, things to do daily. Activities on weekends are light, but available. All in all, we're both satisfied with the Delaney.

As you can see - I'm satisfied - it's not perfect, but pretty good. Like Most: 1) I feel that she is safe there and will be cared for even if I drop the ball for a few days. 2) she is very satisfied with the food. 3) about half of the staff of care-givers seem to be devoted to their jobs and to the people for whom they are caring. Maybe more than half. Needs improvement: 1) The selection of moves on the living room TV is very poor. For aging people with memory issues, it should be made up of things like Disney movies, [name removed]/ [name removed], and the like. Most of the movies they show are drama movies which might be popular with the care-givers, but which the residents cannot follow. 2) There is a significant group of care-giving employees - maybe half, or almost half - who appear to be there mainly to fill a chair and hope that nobody dies on their shift. 3) Of the various activities available to residents in Independent Living and Assisted Living, only a handful are available to those in Memory Care unless they have friends or relatives (such as myself) to take them.

Good location. Nice size. No buy-in. Can stay in same independent apartment. if need to get assisted help. Friendly residents, easy to get to know

The activity staff are engaging and helpful. The direct care staff seem to take good care of the residents. They do not seek much family involvement and it's unclear what the individualized service plan process is like.

When we moved my parents in, we were not told about the upcoming major construction that was needed. They moved in last October, and the construction is still going on. Despite the fact that all of this is going on, the overall experience has been good. My parents don't complain too much about anything else. They say that the food is good. In fact the both have even put on a bit of extra weight. The staff seems pretty attentive as far as I can tell from the outside.

My parents have been living at Heritage for the past six months. It’s been a huge adjustment and an emotional move. The staff has done a wonderful job through out the transition to show care and compassion. The executive director, and his entire leadership team including front desk staff, operations team, dieticians, nursing staff and countless others have been instrumental in providing a safe and friendly environment.

4 mainly due to the elevators not working consistently. I would recommend in-spite of the elevator situation.

The care itself is top notch, they keep me updated with any issues... they keep her on a schedule & the activities are great. Also the everyone is very friendly & helpful.

I loved Clarendale in Mokena Beautiful facility, had a lovely apt. .... small but efficient . Good food and great people. Would be there now if I could.

Most everything is good--staff, food, etc.--but they do not follow up with problems. Our relative has been there a year & despite repeated requests, he has never received cleaning services or had his defective cable TV box fixed. We've given up trying because they make promises & nothing ever happens. This is the only complaint.

Loving, clean and safe place for your loved ones to live. That is memory care. If residents live in assisted, or senior living, so many great activities for them to attend! I would highly recommend for all levels of care there!

11 years ago, we needed a place where mom felt safe and taken care of if we weren’t available. GVS seemed to be just the place she needed as a progressive health care plan. From independent living, assisted living, therapy options to long term care, she’s used every opportunity they provide. There have been bumps along the way to her settling in long term care now… a journey we never thought we would need to take; yet GVS has been there for the family. She thoroughly enjoyed independent living as she made new friends, enjoyed the activities and loved the Bistro. Yet, as her health declined and needed additional support for day to day care, GVS was there to help support our decision to place her in long term care. The facility is starting to show its age, especially in the long term care section, but it’s clean. And there is no place in this area where families can gather. Also, the sizes of shared rooms are not equal in size. One side is larger than the other.

As my mother is in the independent living they are fairly hands off. Move in was easy though but took many calls and eventually direction assistance through Comcast to get her wifi installed though we were charged from the day of her move in. Though a handbook is provided, much less personal interaction and instruction is given during move in. Definitely less involved than you might expect from interactions pre move in. The facilities are nice and clean though a bit dated. Everyone there's very nice and welcoming. We've used senior helpers to help get mom accustomed to the place and activities. The helpers are great but their front staff/ schedulers still haven't hit it right after give plus weeks. The dining food is good though the waits for dinner can be long. The pricing and included food credits were never explained to us. The cost to eat as a guest is. It taken from residents allowance and has to be paid in addition. Costs are pricey. Overall we are happy with the place. What we were sold and what we got were not exactly the same. Definitely more attention before the sale than after. Would likely make same decision though.

General manager is like a big brother/dad to all the clients. We wear a call button and it only took about 4 minutes for him to be in our apartment when we used it to call for help. Ambulance was here in 10-12 minutes. He stayed with us till my husband was in the ambulance and headed to the hospital.

My parents say it is like a cruise ship. My dad is relieved of some responsibilities and can focus on caring for Mom. However, my mom is gluten-free, and the kitchen has trouble making something she can eat. The living experience is very pleasant. It is clean, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Very good food and great activities. The care is very good.

One thing that stood out is the staff is very caring and attentive and many of the staff have worked at the facility for a long time.

I think the staff overall are excellent. They are dealing with an old building and it requires more expense and care than a newer building. The outdoor space is beautiful and well maintained. It feels more like a country club than a residential facility. I think their menus could be better adapted to the needs of their clientele. Offer low calorie deserts and heart healthy food choices to give residents a choice. They have a meeting each week with residents to offer suggestions. A dietitian's input might help them with this objective. The residents appear to be very social and welcoming.
