Our tour of Clarendon I was very informative. The property was clean and attractive as were the rooms. Staff was friendly and the residents were nice and seemed very busy on different projects. My children and I enjoyed our visit there

My mother lives at Clarendale. Whenever she has requested a ride it never works out and she has always been disappointed. This was promised when we signed up. On a scale for 1-10 the food is a 3.

The staff have been wonderful, very loving and kind to my mother, making sure her needs are met. The activities are great, my mother stays active all day with the other residents. The only complaint she has had is- no activities after dinner- so makes a long evening. It is nice to have so many options for meals and the food has been good. The entire facility is clean and engaging. My mother halls had a very positive experience at Heritage Village in all aspects including physical and occupational therapy.

This is a nice place to live.

Some minor confusion on what comes with various levels of care like independent living vs assisted. One or two delay maintenance issues. Staff are incredible! Room size if great. Lots of activities available.

I really enjoyed the community feel, and how it feels more like an apartment feel than a facility. The staff is also amazing and genuinely cares.

My step father was there so my mom was familiar with the place. They're very busy, not sure they have the time to do everything they claim to be doing.

Reasoning for rating of Admin staff: she was extremely nice but several of the 'sales' points were either untrue, exaggerated or not applicable to our patient. However, the memory care staff (nurses and techs) make up for this. They are beyond kind and patient with the residents!

I would give Richmond Place a 4 because of one incident where my husband was dressed without his pull-ups. He has been in 4 memory care facilities - 2 of which closed and forced us to find a new place for him - including one I would rate as the best. Richmond Place is the second best of the 4. The staff are mostly caring and attentive. There seems to be very little turn-over of staff. Everyone is responsive to my requests. Richard has not been interested in the activities. I think they might find things that would engage him. The food is quite varied with lots of options to cater to different tastes and needs. He shares his room with one other resident, which so far has worked OK. The rate for the double room is considerably less expensive.

We really like the facility. There's lots of light and lots of separate activity rooms. The staff are very helpful. There has been a small misunderstanding about dates of showers but working with the director has helped Work out those differences. We are in a studio, which is plenty of room. The one bedrooms that have a living room are much bigger, but we just didn't need that much space. The bathrooms are very good sized. It seems that they do a lot of activities. However, my father does not participate in many Just due to his lack of interest. I have never had a meal there, but I've sat with my father. It looks OK they do a lot of chicken. He complains about everything so it's very hard for me to judge. Once again, everybody that works there are very light and helpful. Sometimes you have to ask for a little bit more help if they don't realize.

Staff always pleasant, helpful, and caring. Social activities are a bit lacking! Being a male not much to do. I like that this facility if of moderate size! Everyone is seemingly pleased. Very with complaining. I enjoy my time here! Settled in now.

Please check us out before you "have to "so you can retain your health and enjoy all the entertainment they provide and keep your health in the best way with in house nurse and many opportunities to keep your lifestyle healthy. There's many activities to busy your day and opportunities to challenge yourself. I personally love the arts and craft and not saving to cook!? The dining room serves great choices and great food.

Room size and it's a private room. The staff - there are many foreigners and language barrier for elderly is an issue. The staff is kind and they try really hard. Activities - my mom cannot get to activities by herself so she is mainly excluded. Food - they bring her meals in styrofoam containers and it is cold.

This Clarendale location is newer and beautifully furnished, with spacious rooms compared to the others I viewed when looking for a senior home for my dad. The location, room size, quality of food at the dining hall, and community were the main draws in signing up here and while we are generally happy with the place, there is room for improvement when it comes to the quality of care and communication, with communication being the main issue. It is incredibly difficult to get a hold of the nursing staff or any staff other than the front desk. I will say the front desk staff and the restaurant staff are generally lovely. All calls need to be routed through the front desk and often all they can do is leave a message for nursing to call you back, which can take hours, if the call ever comes. When you are paying thousands extra for assisted living, you would expect the communication with nursing staff to be better. Also, all medications need to be filled through [removed name], which provides minimal information and control to the family beyond invoices. It is difficult for the family to provide supplements separately instead of being charged for them per pill by [removed name] because the nursing staff rarely informs you when your loved one's supplements are running low. I've had a few frustrating calls where I've told them we want to provide supplements because we can get those in bulk, yet there is never communication about supply so we have to blindly buy them and try to guess when he's running low, or else we start seeing those pills on his [removed name] invoices. This is a minor thing but adds to the frustration over poor communication. You will not receive updates unless you are bugging them. Also, when dropping off supplies for the nurses, there's no set way of doing this because it's hard to get a hold of them even when you're in the building so you can either drop it off with the front desk and hope they get it or try to have the front desk page someone. I've used my dad's nurse call button to get someone to his unit and no one ever came, so that's concerning! The place and the planned activities seem geared more towards independent living residents. I was hoping for more encouragement of participation for the assisted living residents, especially those who cannot keep track of activities themselves and who may otherwise stay isolated in their rooms. One major concern is that there is no program for those with mild cognitive impairment or earlier stages of dementia, which I have seen available in other retirement communities. These people are left on their own here unless they have family, friends from the independent community, or outside help to bring them to the general activities. I'm glad my dad is in a safe place now with people monitoring his general well-being but communication from the staff needs a lot of work. Things do not seem very organized here, which is concerning but maybe this is common for every retirement community? There is no newsletter or updates sent out to families, only emails about holiday events. We would love to see programming for people with mild cognitive impairment and early to moderate stage dementia, which is an extremely common condition in a senior home.

Clarendale is absolutely beautiful and has tons to offer. They do a great job with social events and activities. The staff is extremely friendly and they're always asking for feedback on how to improve. The facility is always sparkling, clean, warm and welcoming. The dining menu offers just enough choices. However, the quality and preparedness of the food is lacking. The dining areas are very loud and conversations over the noise is very difficult. I've visited 6 or more facilities in the area and I believe we made the best choice. My mom has a cute cozy apartment, enjoys the art appreciation & craft-classes and nightly moves. Other than her tiny closet, her place is just the right size. The daily check-in is great and knowing if I can't reach my mom- I can call and they are always there.

We feel my mother in law is in a safe clean place. The staff is caring, but we had a little bumpy start. But all is good. My husband and his siblings know she is in a safe clean place. The staff generally seem to care about the residents.

The physical space is bright and nicely done. My mother in law moved in [date removed]. We have had issues with the nursing care and aid care. I believe they are short staffed like so many other residences. We had to push to make sure she was being help with showering, her laundry was being done, medications given at correct times. It can be hours and no one checks on her. It is hard for staff to get residents to the dining hall at the times they would like to go. Residents can wait over an hour after they have finished their meals to get back to their apartments.

Professional Staff outstanding. Facility is very good. Rooms are also very good. Maintenance goes beyond. Would highly recommend Clarendale Clayton. Dinning room needs improvement. Food is fine. Service very slow and occasionally runs out of items on menu. Chefs are good especially [name removed] and [name removed]

I have been living at Clarendale for 7 months. It’s located in my old neighborhood that I grew up in, and also got married and raised 2 beautiful daughters in. I decided to live here because of the great location, the newer building, and overall feeling I felt touring here. I’ve met some wonderful people here that I can actually say are my friends.

I have been a resident at Clarendale Arcadia for 8 months. I’ve found my apartment to be very comfortable and the location of the community at 32nd Street and Camelback Road is ideal. There are many activities offered. However, often there are not facilities adequate to accommodate the demand for all who wish to participate.
