Leisure Care, LLC/One Eighty

My mother lived in MacKenzie Place in an Independent Living apartment for approximately 6 years until a fall required a move to Memory Care for the last 6-8 weeks of her life. She loved her apartment where she had a lovely view of the Rocky Mountains but although her room in Memory Care was smaller it was very nice and she was comfortable there. Everyone on staff was wonderful to her and to her family. From mangers, Alan and Sam to the staff on Memory Care (Coley, Marie, Brenda, Carly in the kitchen, Elizabeth, Hannah- our initial contact who took my mom under her wing and a true ambassador of caring) all were professional, generous, kind and helpful. We will never forget the support given as my mom declined in health. We can highly recommend MacKenzie Place to anyone looking for a residence for their loved one(s).

Dancing River Assisted Living is fine. She is doing pretty well. She is getting adjusted. They do a good job over there. The food has been iffy lately. I am not sure if that's because they have a new chef, but you know this is coming from mom. Overall we have been pretty pleased. She thought she had lost some jewelry there. But a couple of pieces had showed back up so I am not sure if she lost them or what happened. For the most part it is good and I would recommend it. There is always room for improvement but I think they are doing a pretty good job there.

At Fairwinds I would say they really pride themselves on being courteous, accommodating, and diverse. I have had no issues with this facility. Everything has gone pretty smoothly. No complaints from me at this point.

I haven't really had many issues at Autumn Leaves of Arlington Heights. The only issue I have had is with getting my husbands medicine refilled. I wanted to do a mail order since it's cheaper and that hasn't been able to happen yet. My husband really enjoys the food at this facility and he is a picky eater. His appetite has really increased since being here. He's gotten more active since being here also. At home there wasn't much to do and now he just seems more involved and active. I like that the facility is smaller, my husband gets more focused attention. I have seen a real improvement in him since placing him here.

Well qualified and equipped place

I am in the process of moving my 91 year old Mother from Massachusetts to New Mexico, where my Wife & I relocated 8 years ago after 20 years in L.A. I toured every elderly care facility in the greater ABQ area and Fair Winds was, by far, the only place that I would have my Mom spend her last years! The facility is great, the location is the best and the staff is exceptional. I would especially like to recognize one employee: Stephanie Gallegos. She has accommodated every aspect of the difficult, logistical move that I am facing. She is timely in her email and phone responses. She has gone out of her way to make herself available for me, even on her off days. She is a true gem and a pleasure to work with. If you are a prospective client in the greater Albuquerque area, I would highly recommend that you check this place out. My Mom deserves nothing but the best, and I am confident that I have found exactly that!

They are doing a pretty good job so far. It's going pretty well. They have all been really wonderful and helpful, even when small stuff comes up. The quality of the food is excellent. They have plenty of entertainment and activities offered. We liked the overall quality.

We have had the pleasure of touring the Fairwinds facility two times and each time we have been quite impressed. The staff was not only courteous but genuinely courteous. Smiles all around - lots from the residents, too! Good energy means a lot. We feel that when the time came to make such an important decision as to where would be the best place for our loved one, we needed to all agree, and we did, including of course, the most important one - Mom! We had the great pleasure of receiving our tours from Stephanie Gallegos who went above and beyond to sincerely make us feel at home by answering each question kindly and in detail creating a relaxed atmosphere. We knew we were getting the answers we needed from a well informed and honest Fairwinds representative. Making decisions like these are not easy and we received understanding, compassion, kindness, and guidance to help us make our decision - and it is Fairwinds.

Love everything about Ashbrook Village.

I think they are doing a pretty good job. The staff is very friendly and anytime that you do have a complaint it's addressed right away. I've talked to a lot of the other residents and some have been here about 10-12 years. You don't stay somewhere that long if they aren't doing a good job.

I am so thankful that my mom and dad where living at grand villa when dad had a heart attack. The quick action of the staff may have saved his life. When dad was able to return back to grand villa the staff continued to keep a watchful eye on him. They also took great care of mom during this most stressful time. She didnt have to worry about cooking or cleaning. Also, the renovations are now over and I can't believe how beautiful it turned out. Great care, beautiful place!

My mom has been in other places. Nobody can get her motivated to do anything, but they did! People there recognize her and know her by name

So far our experience with Grand Villa of Pinellas Park has been a good one! I don't have much else to compare it to, but we've been pleased with everything they have offered so far. The facility itself is nice looking and well kept, and the staff have all seemed very friendly. They take good care of the people who live here, and have a lot to offer in terms of amenities and activities. They are worth a look if you are looking into options in the area!

We have just begun our search for a retirement home having an ability to aid us when we need it. We have looked at about 8 facilities in Tucson and Albuquerque areas. To our taste, Fairwind is perhaps the best we've seen and "felt". It is not new but has received a makeover and it looks good. Staff seemed very good and were especially friendly to us as we toured. Room choices included some with external views or views into a park like region with greenery! After Tucson, that is a plus. It will be high on our list after we look at other sections of the country. I haven't looked hard at the activities, so my activity rating is of little value.

My wife and I are getting to that age (83) where we are downsizing and feel it is time to lift the load of daily living requirements to just stop and smell the roses for the few years remaining. Towards that end, we have visited almost all the retirement communities in the Albuquerque area. Fairwinds comes out head and shoulders above all the rest. Every resident we talked to spoke well of Fairwinds. Residents were seen active in and about the community. The meals were varied and quite good. The staff in the dining room was even better. In short, one could not become bored at Fairwinds. There is plenty to do and the view of the Rio Grande valley is outstanding! If we make the move, Fairwinds it will be.

My mother has been at Fairwinds for over a year and we are very happy with the facility, the staff and the services. My mother tells me all the time how safe she feels. The Facility is always very clean and updated. The staff are wonderful and very kind to the residents. The services provided are wonderful; I never worry if my mother is taken care of when I am out of town. Great place to live, both my husband told our children if we need to be moved to a assisted living home this would be the one for us.

My husband and I live in Louisville, KY and provide for senior living care for his mother. She very suddenly needed to move up in the level of her care due to the progression of her dementia. Grand Villa of Largo was one of about 10 facilities my husband and I visited. It was number one on both of our lists after seeing the other properties. With living so far away, it is extremely important to us to feel secure that she is being well taken care of. The staff has strong compassion for all the residents. They involve them in many activities and make sure nutritional needs are met. We come for visits every 5-6 weeks and always leave to fly home feeling at peace with our decision. Our mom is happy and enjoying her life at Grand Villa of Largo!

Staff have been very helpful in enrolling us in the facility.

Both my mother and father were admitted to the Memory Care at Grand Villa West. It is newly renovated, beautifully appointed and has a lovely locked outdoor area that patients can access. It has been open less than a year and it is kept scrupulously clean. Make no mistake, Alzheimers and dementia patients are incredibly difficult to deal with and it takes special caretakers to deal with an entire facility full of such patients. The Memory Care Director knows every patient individually and has genuine affection for her charges. What has impressed me most is the management's determination to find the right kind of caregivers and establish the right program of care. Since this is a new facility, this has resulted in a fair amount of staff turnover as staff that do not meet the standards are dismissed. (I wouldn't be surprised if some of the complaints come from terminated staff) But they are constantly improving. There is a very active Family Council that meets monthly and is on top of any issues or problems. Family members are always welcome and many spend substantial time in the facility. We have other family members phone numbers so we can look out for each others loved ones and keep each other informed of developments and concerns. My father passed away under hospice care while at this facility. Everyone was caring and supportive. My mother is still at Grand Villa and seems pretty content under the circumstances. I visited many facilities and this one was the first one I felt good about. While not everything is perfect, improvement is constant and they are very responsive to family member concerns. I recommend this facility highly.

So far we really like Springfield Place, but my loved one has just moved in. The staff have all been extremely friendly and accommodating. Some things feel a little disjointed and I wish there was one move in coordinator to help facilitate the process. Otherwise, the warm personalities of the staff go a long way to make this a welcoming environment.
