My parents are doing great and they like the community they live at. The staff do a very good job keeping the place clean. My parents are enjoying the activities and outing they offer. The food is okay, they are not that happy with it but overall we are happy with the care. I have recommend this community to others already.

Washington Oakes is a WOW! My mother and I were searching for a home for my Aunt and had toured MANY terrific locations. While all of the homes had great qualities, there was just nothing that made us feel like HOME until we walked into Washington Oakes! Robbie is AMAZING and within a few moments we knew that we had found the perfect home for my Aunt. My Aunt is OVERJOYED with her new home! The residents, the team of outstanding associates and the facility are all welcoming and have embraced not only my Aunt, but our entire family. It is a TREAT to visit and we all look forward to walking through the doors! I cannot recommend Washington Oakes enough-you truly must visit and you too will see that this is a community that shines above all others!

Absolutely beautiful property. Employees seem happy.many have worked there long time. Dining facility is gorgeous. Rooms are nice. Plus for this place is the silver sneakers programming.

The food is good they have good portions and the wait staff deliver it happily. The staff are attentive, answer questions quickly and return phone calls in a timely manner. I would recommend this very clean community. Mom likes to participate in many of the activities including the outside activities.

Mom has not moved into Brittany park yet. Her move in date is 7/11. My husband and I have been getting her apartment ready and the staff have been very helpful. We visited a number of places before deciding on a place for her. Fairwinds Brittany Park seems very upbeat and friendly. Hopefully mom will think so too.

My mom and I took a tour of this nice place. All went well, and we did like the community. My mom liked it better than the other communities we saw. The one thing we liked is that it seemed all the residents were happy here at this community.

Great place and wonderful staff. My Mom who is 86 has been there for @ five weeks now. Although she is still in an adjustment period she always mentions how friendly and helpful the staff is. Highly recommend FairWinds

Our mother just moved into Fairwinds Desert Point and from our initial tour too move in, everything is and has been perfect. I wanted to commend the staff for their thoughtfulness and compassion, as this was a hard decision for our family to make. Mom is doing well and told us her favorite part so far is the food, but she's says there are a lot of activities she has yet to explore. The building is clean, has residents interacting in the lobby as you enter, and just has a warm feel about it. We toured other communities and noticed lack of socialization. Socialization was one of the things we were looking for and we found it at Desert Point. I'm sure mom will be happy for years to come. Thanks Desert Point.

My father is doing very well here at this facility, he seems to like it. They do a very good job with keeping the facility nice and clean. They have a very good staff here, they have been great to work with. There are activities offered for him to try. Everything is working out well and I would recommend it.

I really love it here at this community. It is a very lovely community. They do a very good job with cleaning. The staff is outstanding. They offer many great activities, I enjoy the sewing classes. The food is amazing, I really enjoy the meals. Everything is working well and I would recommend it.

This is truly a fabulous community. My mother really enjoyed this community. Unfortunately my mother needs more care then they are able to provide. We loved the tour of the facility, everybody was very kind and friendly. They offered us lunch, and the food is great. They provide outstanding care to the residents. The community is very nice and clean. It was a great experience and I would recommend it.

My mother-in-law is doing well and is happy here at this community and it is well maintained and clean. The staff are attentive and helpful with all that is needed. The meals have been fine for my mother-in-law and she is going to exercise class and social gatherings. I have no issues with this community and I would recommend this community.

This is a very lovely community. I recently broke my arm and they have been extra helpful to me. The community is very well-kept. The staff is excellent, they are always willing to help. There are great activities like bible study, and work out classes. I'am very impressed with the food, even my friends who came and ate with me were very impressed. This is a community I would highly recommend.

My father in law loves it here and we are very pleased. He has adjusted very well to the community. He is trying new activities and really coming out of his shell. The community looks great, they keep everything nice and clean. The staff has been wonderful, they are very caring and helpful. It is a busy community, they always have something going on. One down side of the community is the parking, there isn't much. He is very happy and I would recommend it.

Fairwinds is now my Grandparents new home and my Grandfather is completely in love with the place while my grandmother on the other hand is still trying to get used to the idea. The one thing that matters is that they are happy and comfortable. The place is immaculately clean and all of the the staff really seem to enjoy their job. They actually care for not only the residents and their families. Isaac helped me in the beginning and answered all of my questions. He spent two hours with me going over questions that I had. This was by far the best place I visited. The residents seem to be happy and have plenty of activities to participate in. The food is what my Grandfather likes the most. I would most definitely recommend the place!

We have toured Grand Villa a couple of times now. We have been very impressed so far. Everyone is so upbeat and friendly, the waitstaff, the office staff, the caregivers, everyone. They had a very nice concert we attended and had a lot of fun at. We like it a lot so far.

I was impressed both with the staff and the facility itself. It was clean and felt like it could be my home. I especially liked all the living options all the apartments were spacious and some had fireplaces and a real kitchen I am still doing research on communities but this is one of the ones at the top of my list

The choice to have our family member move from his home to assisted living, was one of the hardest choices we've had to make. To be honest, It's hard to say who the choice was harder on. He had made it clear from day one, that his independence and privacy was paramount to his comfort. He had also ALWAYS told us how he absolutely NEVER wanted to "go into a nursing home". We felt like in a way, we would be failing on our end if we couldn't give him the care that he needed. We contacted several locations and checked reviews, safety records, health department records and did visual inspections for various locations. Then we contacted a service that helps narrow down your choice based on your needs and wants, and they set up appointments for you! Based on our needs, Mackenzie Place was one of them they recommended. We had already seen some of their reviews and we were not able to find any reviews stating less than excellent. When we were contacted by Mackenzie Place they were sincere, professional, and funny! Their representative, Mark, was flexible when we had to change the appointment and sugested that with all we had going on, that we should let them serve us an amazing lunch to let us sample their food and give us a break from cooking and catering to someone else. When we arrived we were so impressed! The inside is more what you would expect to see in an Aspen ski lodge as opposed to a traditional assisted living facility. We were welcomed and greeted by residents and employees alike. When we arrived there was a poker game going on in the bar, some ladies returning from shopping at the mall, another couple of ladies talking about their trip to the salon upstairs.... It was fantastic! The focus was clearly on living here, and living well! Mark greeted us and introduced us to several other guests and employees, then suggested that we have lunch, talk and relax a bit then go on a tour. For lunch we had saffron seared scallops, delicious salads, and steaks. The atmosphere was an upscale restaurant. While Mark was talking to us he was just talking, not selling anything. He asked lots of questions about our family, told us about his, told us about some of the guests and their families and cracked some jokes. This luncheon was just about relaxing and enjoying the food and atmosphere. During the tour we were "wowed" with all of the daily activities available; poker, bingo, movies in the movie theater, salon, library, gift shop, game rooms, some ladies were knitting in one of the rooms, there was an exercise room and pool- and they have 85% of their residents that are involved in their physical fitness program. There were something like 26 floor plans to choose from.... Fast forward a couple of months and our family member has been delighted there! He is quite the gambler, has made some friends and he loves the food every meal. He chooses from eating at any of the three restaurants / areas or has it delivered to his apartment. His apartment is super clean, his laundry is taken care of for him every week, and the staff have become friends. He can't get over how nice everyone is, and he is constantly heard telling his outside friends that this place is the Cadillac of places. He feels like he is living the way people only dream to live. From my perspective, Mackenzie Place, has surpassed my expectations and any expectations I didn't think to have. I equate it to cruise ship living. The facility is awesome, the food is fantastic, but truly as always it all comes down to the people. It's the staff at Mackenzie Place that make it what it is. They are ALL so genuinely friendly and caring. They are professional with the way they do their jobs, represent themselves and their company. They are the cream of the crop.

We moved my husband into MacKenzie Place Memory Care a few weeks ago. We had gone through the entire admission process at another place first, and it didn’t work out. After several exhausting days and a disappointing outcome, I dreaded going through the whole process again. However, the entire staff at MacKenzie Place, from the two marketing people we met with, Suzanne and Alan, to Michelle the Move-In Coordinator, Candace the Health Coordinator, Coley the Memory Care Director, and all the Memory Care staff, too many wonderful people to name, every single person was professional, understanding and caring. Every question was met with a knowledgeable answer, every issue was met with a creative solution, every concern was met with compassion for my husband and me. The Memory Care staff has been trained in each specific type of dementia, the behaviors and ways of dealing with them. That is so awesome because my husband has a less common type of dementia, Fronto Temporal Dementia, that exhibits very different behaviors than Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s dementia or others. Some of his behaviors are extremely difficult to deal with. Some places I had looked at, were not really aware of FTD and had not had any residents with FTD. The MacKenzie Place Memory Care staff was not only aware of FTD, but specificially trained in how to patiently deal with him and successfully redirect him. MacKenzie Place was ready for him! They welcomed my husband and made him feel at home right off the bat. He made friends right away, and the staff made him feel useful and helpful, which means a lot to him because he is the youngest and most cognitively functional one in the unit. They have made me feel so welcome as well, as I spend a few hours a day with him, and usually share a meal with him every day. They treat me so warmly and special. They encourage family to spend time with their loved ones, share a meal or participate in activities with them. My husband enjoys the activities provided there. They have live music a couple times a week, games to stimulate mind and body, and his favorite, the Friday afternoon excursion on the bus. The meals are very good. My husband tells everyone about how delicious the food is! The housekeeping is top notch. Every Tuesday when I come, his room is spotless, and his laundry is clean and fresh. I love going to MacKenzie to hang out with my husband! There are other amenities in the other part of the building that Memory Care residents are welcome to use if accompanied by a family member. My husband and I enjoy the hot tub, the exercise room, the pool table, have a cup of coffee in the pub, attend church service in the chapel sometimes, and he has had a pedicure at the salon! I cannot speak highly enough of MacKenzie Place, especially the Memory Care Unit! It has been a huge blessing to us to get my husband into a place where he is happy, well cared for, feels useful and respected, and where I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. I would recommend MacKenzie Place Memory Care for anyone who has a loved one with dementia.
