I got the opportunity to tour this facility. It looked very nice, but it looked very sterile and impersonal. It did not have the homey feel that we would have liked for my loved one. The rooms were also a bit small.

I toured this community. I was not happy that the person that was supposed to give me a tour was not there. When she did arrive she was not friendly and I did not like that she did not remember that I was coming for a tour. The rooms are nice and clean. We did not see the menu of the meals. I would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of loved one.

It is a really nice place, but there have been a few things that have disappointed my siblings and me. First, the toiletries are not included. Second, on the brochure, it says that transportation is included, but when we needed it they said it was not available at this location. The place itself is very nice, and the meals that they serve are good, but there are some things they can improve on.

My mother lived at Legacy House for 4 years and there were many good things about her stay there. The facility is very clean and beautifully kept. The staff are friendly and courteous. The activities are wonderful. However, as her needs increased, I became more and more unhappy. My mother's nutrition was the biggest issue we had, and the staff did not adequately care for her with regards to this very important part of an elderly person's care. She refused meals to the point that she was eating only once daily. It wasn't until I visited her a few times in a row where she looked in very poor health, with poor color and trembling limbs. I discussed the issue with the staff and they suggested Ensure meal replacers, which I would have been glad to have provided if I'd know it was needed. My mother immediately improved after we purchased the Ensure. Her care became to demanding for an assisted living facility and I moved her in with me to avoid a nursing home. Since she's been with me I've realized how poor her nutrition was at Legacy House. She still refuses meals with me, as she did with the Legacy House staff, but I take the time to make sure she drinks meal replacers and has a better quality diet. I was especially disappointed that someone at Legacy House did not take control of her nutrition and contact us to discuss the matter so that we could come up with a solution. We as her children did not know the extent of her meal refusal, and eating every 24 hours is probably not a good plan for an elderly woman. No one called us to tell us it was happening. The staff should have been proactive in addressing this issue. Since my mother has lived with me her health has improved. Shame on Legacy House for not addressing this issue at ALL, let alone appropriately.

The staff at Legacy House South Jordan were very courteous and were able to answer all of my questions. The residents seemed to be very happy and they enjoyed the food. The rooms in the community felt very small because they ceilings are low and they are dark. The community could use an update to brighten the community to give it a bigger feel.

I would like to first say that there are many staff members that do their job and seem to care. However, it is up to the loved ones to be an advocate and watch what is happening. Don't ever assume that because you are paying for something or because staff tells you that it is happening, that your loved one is getting what they need. Every month, we were getting charged for services that were not needed or were not performed. It was difficult to talk with those in charge because they were not there, or would not call us back. Services were often not performed, and things were being taken care or, so me and my family members would do it instead. The apartment layout is nice and it is cleaner than some I have seen. But there is not always someone at the desk and the door is not locked.

Legacy House was not the right fit for our loved one. After several months we found a different facility. If your loved one is self sufficient, Legacy will work. If they need memory care and special additional care like bathroom help, special diet, help dressing, etc this is not a good fit. Response is slow, lot's of agreements to provide additional care, but seldom gets done. It is clean and safe, but that is about it. Once we found a true memory care facility - the experience was night and day. Just make sure you are aware of your loved ones needs and monitor the situation carefully.

Legacy used to be a wonderful place, until recent management changes were made. Within the last 6 months, there has been a huge turnover with managers, and the ones currently running it are cruel. They have no humanity. My loved one used to thrive at Legacy, now she is depressed and declining. With the way things are going right now, I wouldn't recommend Legacy to anybody. If there is a change in management (specifically [name removed]), I would reconsider my review.

My mother (89 years old) entered Legacy on [date removed], after a second hip fracture rendered her unable to continue to live independently. It took several months for a care plan to be developed, so we were in limbo for some time. When one finally was created, the items on it, for which we were paying, were not being performed (e.g., no one bathed her and applied moisturizer-they waited in her bedroom and watched TV while she showered; no one escorted her to meals, etc.). No one offered assistance with her arranging transportation to her appointments (which she had trouble doing on her own), and there was no clear contact if I wished to discuss concerns with someone. At no point have staff been proactive about notifying me of issues (I live in Philadelphia), but rather I have had to “chase” them to find resolution when I become aware. Furthermore, the staff turnover is so high that it has been nearly impossible to identify, let alone reach, the correct staff member when I need to. B

If you're never believed a post you must this one. If you're an advocate for your family do not move them here until the wellness nurse is gone in addition to the executive director. [names removed] will make you pull your hair out. Personal experience. [name removed] the daytime medtech will falsify documentation and HIPPA violations occur, upper management does not care. Please do not put them here.

There are basic needs are met here. The family will need to provide most of the care for your loved one. The needs that are met are medications, locked community, and meals. There is minimal staff interaction with the family. The community isn't bathing my loved one, and my loved one is left to care for themselves. There are times that residents that wander, will wonder more unattended. It seems to be short staffed, which makes it hard to find someone to assist you when needed. My loved one seems to enjoy the meals and they are balanced.

Extremely slow internet. If you want to use the internet you need to gets separate plan for higher speeds. The more people who are on the slower it gets. Food is pretty bad but edible however they pay such low wages to the staff in the dining room (9 dollars an hour I asked one young lady) that they have high turnover and are always understaffed. Thus we have extremely slow service especially during busy hours. People are friendly but all of us residents know not to complain or they avoid us.

This place wasn't a locked facility and people could just wander. And the lady who did the tour was so not caring and nonchalant about me having to sign papers saying that they weren't responsible if my loved one got out of the facility. It was unappealing, worn out looking and smelled bad. Not a good fit for my parents.

When my wife was in the Legacy, I was not comfortable with the level of care that she was receiving. They were very short staffed and they were not trained properly on how to handle situations. They would not approach residents in a calm way. During meal time, the staff would walk around and rush the residents.

my mom was happy at this community. The staff did not know that we were there and they thought that we were a resident of the community.y We had to search for someone to assist us and they did not know we were there for information on the community. We were not comfortable going into rooms where there were residents... We wanted to see an empty room. This did not make us comfortable.going into a room with someone not knowing. Families might call for a tour for the care given here.

My mom was a resident in the Alzheimer's/dementia care unit called the cottage for 7 mos. I was extremely dissapointed & dissatisfied with the care she received. The staff were all extremely young CNA's I NEVER ONCE SAW OR SPOKE WITH A REGISTERED NURSE and in my opinion werent trained well enough for the specialized care required for Alzheimer's and or dementia patients. There were countless times I'd visit my mom while the staff were all sitting together laughing & talking with each other not interacting with the residents, there were several times I went into my moms room & found feces all over the outside of the toilet, found my mom wandering back & forth in front of the refrigerator while the staff were oblivious, she was obviously thirsty but couldn't communicate so I'd get her a drink. During the weekdays mom thru Fri they have a person come in to play games or music with the residents for an hr a day but sat & sun the residents are left to wander around, stare out the windows or just sit in the front room getting agitated while the staff ignored them. When someone would get agitated (which unfortunately happens with this disease) the staff wouldn't interact with them or give them something to do, they just write a report stating so and so was agitated then the next thing was to medicate or sedate them! I had many meetings with the director of legacy [Removed] to voice my concerns, I got lots of promises but nothing changed. I don't think the residents receive the level of care they need. If your expecting your loved one to be taken care of in a nurturing caring environment this isn't it. They couldn't even provide the basic care promised in the contract such as helping my mom brush her teeth when she first arrived. When my moms illness got worse to where she could no longer swallow pills (her medication) the cna's were oblivious & would put them in her hand anyway then my mom would drop them on the floor, not one of them had the training to understand she just COULDNT SWALLOW PILLS ANYMORE. When my mom could no longer feed herself during breakfast lunch or dinner not one of the CNA's noticed, I did, I fed her and had to speak with the director AGAIN to ask him to please tell the staff. Thank god I able to visit my mom almost daily to witness how ill equipped the staff was in taking care of her as the illness progressed & her needs increased. I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend sending your loved on here. Until better and more frequent training is provided the level of care won't improve. I wish I could provide a place where people would get the proper care they so deserve

They have large windows that make the community feel welcoming. The staff is very nice and listens to my concerns. They have a lot of turnover and are short staffed. When the call button is pushed it can take more than thirty minutes before help arrives and I don't believe they check on my dad as often as they should. The food has gotten worse and sometimes the food is served cold.

Great transportation. Good location. The building and grounds are well kept. The lobby and downstairs is pretty nice. However the rooms and the halls are dated and old with dirt colored colors. It makes for not a very peaceful environment. They are repainting and updating some of the rooms as the residents move out. Hopefully they will do the halls soon. The food is not good. Service to get the food is very slow. They do not have high speed internet...if many people use it it is so slow you might as well give up. The activities are good and they have a variety. Really nice people live here. We have had a bedbug problem they are trying to fix and finally we smell gas a lot from the kitchen. When I ask about it they always tell me not to worry about it.

Incompetent: 1. not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully. Inept: 1. awkward or clumsy, inappropriate, unsuitable, out of place, absurd or foolish, 2. without skill or aptitude for a particular task or assignment. Legacy Village Management and the majority of the Legacy Village staff (see above) Legacy Village Management and Staff are incapable/unable to provide for the fundamental needs of their residents, such as dignity and privacy. The Staff and Management are unable to provide for basic services, such as food preparation, meal service and standard dietary provisions. Additionally, Legacy Village does not have the vocational capability to provide for a variety of critical, clinical needs such as medication administration and management. At Legacy Village those who require the most care, get the absolute least. If you read their missions statement, they fail at every level. There is nothing ‘premier or elevated’ about their level(s) of care.
