[Name removed] (facilities manager) was VERY helpful. The interior was comfortable, clean, no smells, active, rooms were nice, prices average.

Not open yet but facility looks wonderful. Unfortunately did not meet our time frame. Would recommended, staff very nice and readily answered questions.

It has everything we were looking for. The dining room experience is wonderful.

The Residence at Valley Farm is very clean and well kept from the community rooms to the model rooms we toured to the outside grounds. The food is so delicious and the choices many every day. So many activities to choose. We enjoyed our tour immensely.

Loved the community. very nice people and the occupents were also welcoming. would have placed Mom there in a minute however she changed her mind about where she wanted to be located geographically.

NICE AND CLEAN, good patient/aide ratio, spacious studio,lots of activitities and socialization opportunities. Bed check every hour, floor alarms in memory care. We think this place will be a great fit for my Mom.

My dad has been a resident in the Reflections community at the Residence at Melrose Station for nearly 2 years. In that time he has been loved and cared for in every way. The staff, from top executives to hands-on care providers, from nursing to dining services, from front desk to cleaning personnel, ALL know my dad and my family and treat us with welcome and respect. We have be so fortunate to know that we can trust the employees there to take good care of dad and to reassure us when decisions are difficult.

Moving my independent, yet lonely mom from her home at the age of ninety was very difficult for her. As it should be. After two days of living in the Residence at Melrose she said, " this is the best thing ever suggested to me" She is correct. From the staff, who are always smiling and saying hello, to the care services, who are always there to help 100% of the time (day or night. Not one person can do enough for each residence. I am visiting my mom at least twice a week, at all different times. I have seen how calm the entire community of workers are during a possible crisis or problem. Large or small, they continue to impress me with their person care for each individual. If you are interested, take a tour, sample a meal, sit and observe the social activities of the wonderful community. It is not just a place to sleep, it truly is a home for each person living here.

When my dad suffered a medical emergency last year, it was clear that my parents couldn't stay in their 3 story home after recovery. We searched for an assisted living facility in their town to give them that familiarity. I visited 3 area assisted living facilities and knew the moment I walked into the Residence, that that was the right one. The Residence is beautiful, very clean, and well decorated. Every staff member i have dealt with from the receptionist, aides and culinary staff to the administrators have been very helpful, and genuinely caring about my parents. The food is very good, and the changing menu and daily specials make it a unique dining experience. They are always patient and courteous and make a real effort to get to know each residents tastes and preferences. The director of activities really engages everyone and is constantly coming up with activities, experiences and trips to keep interest among the residents. I highly recommend the Residence at South Farms in South Windsor, CT

One of the best facilities in the area. The staff is caring and cheerful. They took excellent care of my friend. When I toured the facility it felt like home. Making the decision for my friend was difficult but I knew it was the right place for her it is a beautiful and immaculate place with a phenomenal dining experience. No regrets in making this decision

If you are thinking about having your loved one in an assisted living facility, I would encourage you to look at The Residence at Melrose Station. The moment you walk into the front door you think you’re in a beautiful hotel and you’re greeted so warmly by the receptionist. When we first met with [name removed], the sales and marketing director, she was so informative and caring. She showed us around and we were so impressed with the place. Once she knew what we needed she worked hard to get the best arrangements for us. The apartment we got is beautiful. We will always be thankful for her help. Both she and [name removed], the executive director, made our decision to choose their facility very easy. We thank the entire staff for being so kind and helpful. It’s a beautiful place and we have peace of mind knowing that our loved one is safe and in a wonderful environment. Check it out —you won’t be disappointed.

I see such a difference in my mother-in-law since she has been a resident of Pear Street. Living with me she was alone a lot during the day and she became more depressed and tired. She would spend the day watching television and napping. She was hesitant about staying for respite while I was traveling, but I explained that this was nothing like a nursing home and more like a hotel and she agreed that she would try to make the best of it! And she definitely has. She never moved back home; she went right from respite to becoming a permanent resident. I personally had a lot of guilt about leaving her because I had promised my husband before he passed away that I would take care of her. My friends and family told me that by letting her stay there I was taking care of her. She is busy all day long and is very happy at Pearl Street. She is very social and enjoys people and will go out of her way to try to help anyone. She takes part in almost every activity that is offered. It is wonderful to see my mother-in-law so full of light and life again and that is because of the people at Pearl Street! The staff are so very caring and genuinely interested in the residents. Thank you for all you do each and every day.

My uncle moved to the Residence at Pearl Street three years ago at 93 years of age. He was widowed but still living at home up until that point. His health was deteriorating and after a hospitalization and rehab stay we felt he could not remain safely at home. The Residence at Pearl Street was recommended by the rehab facility staff. Here my uncle thrived. He regained his strength and his general health greatly improved rapidly. I've always felt it was a combination of three great meals each day, medications given and taken as prescribed throughout the day, and the many opportunities for daily socialization and activities with peers that is encouraged by the very caring and engaged staff. My uncle just recently passed away quietly at age 96 at the Residence at Pearl Street which he came to consider as home. If your loved one needs or would benefit from a supportive environment I strongly encourage you to visit this lovely and vibrant facility as I did. I am certain you will be surprised and impressed with all that is offered. My best to you.

The culinary team does a great job, and made an extra special effort at the holidays to present a fantastic Thanksgiving feast. My Mom was thrilled!

I looked at several assisted living communities with memory care. Most seem more like nursing homes. My mom is in a wheelchair and needs some level of assistance 24 hours a day. She has vascular dementia but if she were not in a wheelchair could still function in traditional asssisted living. The Residence of Orchard Grove was the best decision I could have made for my mom. The people are very caring and ensure my mom integrates with the traditional assisted living as well as with residence living in the memory care. She has friends in both areas. The socialization has actually helped her memory quite a bit. They go out on average once a week. The activities staff groups the outings in a way that they are with different people which I think is great. The food is excellent and I enjoy joining my mom on Friday’s for appetizers and a glass of wine during their Happy Hour. My mom will always want to go back home but she always says, “If I have to be somewhere because of my broken hip I’m glad you found this place” no place can truly replace her home but I know she is safe and well cared for. The facility is beautiful and her apartment is a good size. I wish this would become the new model for memory care. Our moms and dads deserve better than what the majority of facilities offer. As Conservator for my dear friend I had to help with the decision for her care. I chose The Residence at South Windsor Farms and it truly met width my expectations. I had the opportunity to speak with staff often, to dine with other residents and to be a part of the family. It is the perfect place to reside in when ones own home is no longer an option. From the receptionist to the care assistants to the Director they all make you feel like family. Activities abound and the amenities are above and beyond. When you have to make “that” decision consider this beautiful place “home”

Both my parents have been at the Residence in South Windsor since early spring of this year.. both have different medical/emotional needs, and the staff has been wonderful in helping getting them settled, and engaging them in life at the Residence. I particularly am happy with the exercise classes and physical activities such as using pedometers, walk club etc. They variety of outings, and entertainment is wonderful. I particularly also like the fact that they bring alot of music, and dance into the facility. That is so important . The food is amazing and I am impressed with the quality and variety the chef prepares as well as the country kitchen.
