Suffield by the River is situated on a beautiful property overlooking the CT River which our friend can see through her living room bay window. She enjoys joining her friends for meals in the majestic dining room where they also enjoy entertainment. We have been pleased with her care the staff goes above and beyond to meet her needs. It gives us great comfort to know she is happy and well cared for. She has always been a very special person in our lives.

We're very happy with Traditions for mom. She is still adjusting, but also happy. I would highly recommend Traditions. The staff so friendly and knows the residents' names! Communication with the family is good. Housekeeping is good. The food is delicious.

From the time that I walked in, I was treated with dignity and respect. I felt like I was introduced to every single person that worked there. Everyone was so nice. It felt real and true. 3 months later and I still could not be happier with my decision. Suffield by the River truly is a special place.

Overall I enjoy living at Brookside because it’s my money my kids are spending it I don’t know how much they’re spending so I can’t help you with the finance part ha ha. I would like to see more guest speakers, and more outings because I really enjoy that part.

I am very happy with the care here at Brookside. I do feel like I wish the meals were better flavorful. I enjoy the staff, and I think the community is very beautiful, especially decorated for the holidays. I also wish there was more activities and things to do.

I would like to see a beginners knitting club maybe crocheting I would like to see them brighten up the dining room, and I don’t think the carpets are that nice I would like to see the carpets newer and some of the other things in the community updated I think that would make a big difference.

I really enjoy living at Brookside. I am very very happy here. I was born in Yugoslavia and I have made a lot of friends here. I love the food and the dining experience every day I will give Brookside number fives on everything and I love my two bedroom apartment.

I really like living here at Brookside. I think the people that work here are very very friendly. I have a lot of fun at my meal times with my friends and I appreciate everything everybody does. that works here. I think the community is beautiful, but it definitely needs new carpet.

I am very happy with the facility and the staff staff. They are very nice and friendly. I did find, on the day we moved my mom in, there was no one really there to give us any direction and we didn't really know what we should do. They assumed that we should know what to do, as we did not. But when we asked any questions, they were extremely helpful to give us answers to our questions. The young people that work in the dining room are extremely nice and friendly. But there seems to be a disconnect between them in the kitchen. We were told by [name removed] that if she just wanted soup, she could ask for soup. So, on the day she moved in, she ordered soup and they said they didn't have any soup. We were a little surprised that an Assisted Living community would not have soup, especially where their residents typically are much older and you know how much they love their soup. Basically, I would say communication has been the biggest hurdle. Now that my mom is understanding the system, it is easier. For example, they told us that when you did your own laundry, the detergent automatically went into the machine. But no one told us that we had to press a button to get the detergent into the machine. So her first couple of loads were washed with no detergent. I also went up a week or so ago as they had a holiday party. I thought it was quite nice. They have tons of activities for the residents, which I think is fabulous! Now that my mother is feeling much better after her short stay in a rehab, she is going to the exercise class. I am happy that she is there, as now she's making new connections versus being in her apartment before where she was pretty isolated. She is also making friends! As far as recommendations: I would say the dining room definitely needs more staff. And lots of times there is food on the floor left over from the night before. It should be cleaned better. I'm not blaming the young kids that are doing their best to work as wait staff. But, I don't feel whoever is in the kitchen is stepping it up.

I moved my mom into The Hearth during a very stressful time in my life this past summer. The caring, patient healthcare aides and nurses took exceptional care of my mom around the clock. The care from the facility allowed me to finally be at peace with her diagnosis of Dementia. There are morning and afternoon activities every day. She is reminded to attend on a daily basis with a friendly knock on her apartment door. The entire team is a huge asset as anyone will step in and assists when and if issues arise out of their control. I highly recommend this facility.

In todays market it is a fair price for the service. The Lighthouse at Lincoln community is very clean and the staff takes good care of the patients. They are also very accommodating to the families.

My dad has had a very good experience with The Residence At Basking Ridge. My dad was glad it was brand new, although that came with it's own issues, the opening was delayed many months.

Suffield by the River is truly a special place. I have never been to an assisted living facility where the staff make you feel like family. My uncle cannot stop talking about the attention he receives from everyone. For a man who used to isolate, my uncle socializes more than he ever has. Suffield by the River has been amazing for our family.

Facility is very tidy and located near several churches, drug stores. There is a bus that goes directly to Harvard Sq. Staff are very kind and speak to residents like adults. I would recommend The Residence at Watertown Square to others.

The Residence at Great Woods is a well run and the staff are all very accommodating. The facility is pretty and has a homey atmosphere.

I am a visiting nurse that visit many ALFS - the residence of Glastonbury is my favorite. It's homey & friendly.

Came here with my spouse for assistance to help with his case. After he passed I left but came back for myself and care I needed. I enjoy the quality, I can go out ad do things!

We moved to Brookside so my wife could receive the support she needs but we could still be together. I am very happy that the team helped us with the transition. Moving from home is not easy but now I know my wife is getting the care she needs and we can spend enjoyable time together. I will recommend the community to my friends.

The absolute best assisted living facility in Northern Connecticut. The residents get excellent care, the meals are top notch offering meals from 7am-7pm, and the staff get 10 stars. My husband and I are thrilled to have decided to choose them to care for his father. You can't get any better than Suffield by the River! Our dad transitioned from the assisted living side of Suffield by the River to their memory care unit, Reflections, about a year ago. [name removed], the Director of Reflections, is PHENOMENAL!!! She is compassionate...she knows her residents. She puts 100% ± into her role. Our dad constantly loses his glasses. She goes out of her way to look and find his glasses. She ALWAYS finds them. When dad needs supplies, she contacts us so we know to buy stuff for dad. She is the best. She is a caring professional who keeps the resident's loved ones informed and demonstrates that she genuinely cares about her residents. She is truly an asset to Reflections & Suffield.

Living at Brookside has been convenient and I can get out to do my shopping and run errand. I enjoy the other residents and I have made new friends. I also enjoy the associate. The Bistro is my favorite, the smell of the Chef cooking is amazing. The chef’s are top notch! My wife is also here and I get to see her without driving.
