Kisco Senior Living

I called and spoke to the salesperson on the phone at this community. From the information, I had seen they offered both assisted living and memory care which was important that was what I was looking for. The prices were more than what my mom wanted to spend so there was no sense of taking a tour.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan as well as great amenities they had for the resident. The property was clean and I could tell they did a good job maintaining the facility. Overall I am pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

Dad thought the meat at this community was overcooked and dry. The rest of the food was ok, however they did not offer a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. They did not seem to offer a lot of activities. It seemed like the costs kept going up, however the care did not. The community was clean and well taken care of.

The tour was good at this community. They have high quality care and it would have been fine. The guide was knowledgeable. I was impressed with the community and it was clean and nicely decorated. It seemed like a caring place but not the right fit for our needs.

I feel my mother is very safe there. she enjoys the activities so that's a big part of our comfort level. She has Alzheimer's so she's declining but I feel she is very safe here.

This was independent living with a little assistance. When we were independent it was a four, and when we needed more care, I would give it a three. They didn't seem to have quite enough staff to keep up with a resident dealing with incontinence. They had a lot of younger girls there as well, and they seemed to have a hard time transferring him.

The concierge and wait staff are lovely and very helpful. The administrative staff has serious communication problems and virtually every one here complains about them. They seem to lack any managerial experience, do not communicate well with each other and basically are behind closed doors for residents.

It is under transition from the old owners to Kisco so that has been rough sense it would have been rough regardless for us. Intentions/plans are good and I agree with most of the changes but hiring/training has been slow/confusing. They are very nice people (Kisco) but we are still looking forward to some calm and predictability. Morning and day staff GREAT! Over-night staff iffy, food is sometimes good, sometimes overcooked...they are trying to hire kitchen managers....activities are plentiful and VERY good.

They are as good or better than any place I've been only one problem there's a lotta old people here. Well I could recommend it because it's the best place I found yet however it is Babylon 80% of the activities has to do with gambling. The facilities are adequate the food is the best I've had in three different places so if a person has to be incarcerated in a facility like this I would recommend this one.

Everyone was very friendly and willing to go check on my mom but couldn't really help her. The medication help was booked out, so we couldn't get her on that anytime soon. I don't feel like the apartment was actually ready to move in. There were some repairs that needed to be done that weren't, and there were some missing supplies. My mom was there for 1 week, then we moved her to our home where we felt she could get better care, not completely the facilities fault. The place was really nice but we moved in so fast and things changed so fast that it didn't work out for us.

I would recommend Woodland Terrace to other families

They need a better cleaner when it comes to the apartments, and they could provide food for residents special diets. It is not perfect, but it will do.

I had a lovely apartment on the ground floor with a shaded patio. It was a spacious two bedroom two bath apartment with a spacious all electric kitchen. In the time that I was there the quality of our dining service went down quite a bit. The food quality dropped and the accuracy rate of getting what you ordered was poor. Containers that melted in the microwave, not getting dressing if your order was an main course salad. Also there were times then it was clearly obvious that your meal had been dropped or turned on it's side from the condition of the food. The idea of having an every other week cleaning person was wonderful. The reality was far less wonderful. I had a litter box in the master bath. Not once did it move an inch to be swept under. My shower bench did not move so the floor of the shower could be completely washed. Employee parking is extremely problematic. I brought up an issue with the director of the facility. He only wanted to hear one side of the issue.

As far as the staff and facilities are concerned, it is very nice. I moved my mom because we were paying over $[removed] a month for them to bring her pills to her. That was all they did. Because it was assisted living, they charged her husband as well just because. No services were rendered on his behalf.

Our parent lived in independent living for over 10 years and was quite happy. Overall we were very pleased with the community services and management in independent living. Sadly, during Covid our parent sustained a fall requiring relocation to Assisted Living. In Assisted Living, staff very strict about level of care and will absolutely not manage any feeding that does not take place in dining room . During our Final weeks there, as we were actively seeking new setting with higher level of care, our parent was left in chair for far too many hours. Be extremely vigilant if your loved one has any change in status in their assisted living, services are more limited than most ASL facilities in managing care for those requiring more oversight.

I Was at Cedarwood in Sandy for 3 months & quite unhappy there. I felt that the staff members who worked there were bullying

My mom has lived here for several years and the the quality of service she is receiving is just average in my opinion. We are paying a lot for her to live there so it is not unreasonable to expect far above average. We would move her, but that would be far too stressful for our elderly mother, and these types of places are all the same in my opinion. Front desk staff is helpful, care staff is average, and senior management leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion.

They are challenged to keep servers in the restaurant. The service is slow and inconsistent. My parents have to wait an hour to eat sometimes after they are seated. It is unacceptable and I have expressed my concern with the management team.

It is a beautiful facility. The apartments are nicely laid out. The size of the facility is not too big, so it is easy to navigate. There are several activities each day to choose from. The staff are friendly, but there seems to be a high turnover. The food is ok. Not great but not bad. All things considered and having toured several facilities, we would recommend this one as worth considering when looking for an assisted living facility.

Most of the staff is very friendly. My mom and step dad are trouble children, so we are always talking to the staff about their troubles and some think we, as their children, are a problem. The food is good, but they need some light meal selections. The problem I have is we are paying for 3rd level care and all they do is bring medication. We do all the rest of their care. We are also paying 1st level for one of our loved ones, but he does not need it.
