My mother has recently reached a point in her life where it we must consider a safer environment for her to live in. She currently lives by herself. We used many different sources to find an Assisted Living Facility that she can consider "Home". My wife and I looked at numerous locations. When we found AAAL in Raynham/Taunton, we drove there and found it still under construction. They plan to open May 9, 2015. The people there took the time to listen to my concerns about moving my mother. It was nice to hear that my concerns are just like everyone elses. Even though the inside was not quite finished, I loved what I say. They were very informative and advised me to look at their other facility in Hansen, which we did the same day. At the end of our tour, we were invited back this Sunday for the Cookout and I'm bringing my mother with us to show her where we would like her to live. I want the very first experience she has to be upbeat, exciting and also fun. The comment that the staff mentioned to me that really made the difference was a comment about everyone who resides there must maintain their dignity. I know this is true and when I was speaking to some of the residence in Hansen, they mentioned this to me. They mentioned that just because they live in Assisted Living, the staff never forgets about them. They feel as if they are the staffs only resident. I hope my mother agrees. My only comment is that I don't know how my mother will take to having a room mate after being by her self for so long. I wish they had single apartments, but I know the interaction will be valuable.

This facility is the best one I have seen. The staff take each on in like their own and just seeing them talk to my loved on and the other residents is amazing. The food is good and activities are okay. I dont have any complaints so for. Their happy and so am I.

My aunt has lived very independently, alone, for the last thrity-five of her 96 years. She had two separate falls that required hospitalization, rehabilitation, and two stays at Merryvale until she was able to return home. She fell a third time in August, 2014, requiring the same follow-up care, except this time her dementia has progressed such that she should not attempt living alone. Based on my/her experience at Merryvale, there was never a moment's doubt in my mind that Merryvale is the best and most caring place she can be. The way Gena and her staff "get to know" each resident; the care and love they provide my aunt -- and me -- feels like family.

Everything has gone very well with Bentley Assisted Living so far, I'd give them top marks across the board! The staff have all been very friendly and very helpful, and did a great job welcoming my loved one to the community. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they take great care of the people who live here. I appreciate that they get in touch with me immediately if any issues come up with my loved one.

They do a great job at Bentley Commons, it has been a phenomenal experience! I'd give them top marks across the board, there really isn't anything they haven't done well. They immediately try and get to know the residents and their families, and try to make them part of the community. The caregivers are friendly and professional, and just leave you feeling confident that your loved one is going to be well taken care of!

My mom moved in on May 1st. It is such a nice place, they are all so friendly and accommodating. It is a peace of mind knowing my mother is safe. I visit my mother everyday so I see what goes on daily and I am very satisfied. My mom wants to be home but knows this is best for her right now and likes everyone there. Everyone is approachable, they really are like family.

They’re very attentive. The food is very good. They have always had enough parking when I’ve been to visit. There are nice outside areas for residents to enjoy. The staff is very friendly. The activities are good.

My mother arrived on May 1st and I can't say how pleased we are. Everyone is friendly, helpful and really caring. The place is always clean and they do everything they can to make the residents comfortable and happy. My mother remarks how nice everyone is there. It's a relief for me knowing that my mother is in good hands.

Their infrastructure is well designed with comfortable residency, plenty of activities, medical facility and healthy meals that they indeed put the emphasis on living. Mom is very happy now. After caring for Mother in our home for almost eight years, it was a MAJOR LIFE TRANSITION for our families when the realization came that we could not provide the 24-hour care that she needed. We had been visiting Merryvale A.L. once a month for a while helping to provide entertainment for the residents, and we also knew residents there, who were very happy with both levels of care. After visiting other “homes”, we moved Mother into Merryvale A.L. in September of 2013. Mother not only had a new home, but we were all blessed as we acquired many new “extended family” members (the Staff and the Residents). They have all become our extended “family”. In February, 2014, after a broken hip and additional dementia, we were very grateful to have the opportunity to return to our “family” at Merryvale A.L., although it was necessary to move into the Dementia Unit with Hospice Care. Now we can offer first-hand experience with and support for both units at Merryvale. We cannot say enough good things about the Merryvale staff. We believe God has provided “Angels among us” to care for our loved ones when we cannot. So, if you are looking for a home for your loved one, Merryvale should be at the top of the list! My father in law wasn't sure what to expect, moving from his own place into assisted living. But he is so happy at Merryvale. All the chores of daily life are no longer his burden. He is free to relax and enjoy the activities and social interactions with fellow residents and courteous, professional staff. It is such a relief to know he is safe, healthy and happy in his new home.

Even though it was her decision, we were concerned about Mom moving into an assisted living facility. We researched a number of facilities and took Mom to several. When she left Merryvale, her comment was, "I think we've found my new home." That led us to a series of interviews with Merryvale management and staff and were very happy about the results. We also asked about Merryvale around the community and heard nothing but positive comments and praise. We moved in Mom in late February, 2014. It's now mid-April 2014, and we couldn't be happier with the situation. Mom feels very much at home and has definitely become part of the Merryvale "family". We have met a number of the staff and they are all resident-oriented. They recognize that these are individuals and provide exactly the amount of assistance each person requires or requests. Mom's family now has great peace of mind. She lived alone in a rather remote location for almost four years after Dad passed. Neighbors, friends, and family kept an eye on her, but we still had great concern for her well being . Although Mom just turned 90, she's sharp, in good health, and capable of taking care of herself, for the most part. We know she's now in good hands. I hardly ever write reviews, but felt compelled to share my opinion that Merryvale is the "real deal." If you are looking for a place that really cares about its residents, whether short-term or long, this is the place.

We really liked this community. It was very clean, and the staff was friendly. We had a good feeling about it. It was definitely one we were considering, but we found one a little closer that is easier for us to visit. Very nice though.

My loved one has only been here for a few weeks, but so far everything has been going very well! The facility itself is very clean, and the staff members are all very caring and friendly! The only complaint I have is that sometimes there seems to be a lack of communication between staff members, I've had to repeat information about medication to two different staff members noticing the same information and calling me.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when we toured the facility. I was impressed by the clean rooms as well as the layouts. There were different activities going on when we toured and the residents all seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend!

Gena, I want to thank you for taking quick action regarding my mother's reaction to the amoxicillin. I just talked to Betty and Carmichael's just delivered the Benadryl. (7:45PM) All of the people at MerryVale are so caring and helpful. We appreciate the culture you have created that results in this level of care.

After speaking to Tracy at Bentley Commons, this is not the right fit for my mom. Tracy was wonderful and very helpful with information. I did not tour the facilty; however, what I saw was very nice.

Very clean and new. Units were very nice, good sized. Food looked healthy and nutritious. Staff and residents seemed very friendly and pricing should be affordable.
