i had heard about A Place For Mom but tried to find a personal care residence on my own. My search came up and I clicked on one. It brought me to A Place For Mom. They were wonderful and gave me several facilities to call. I would not have found Juniper Village at Forest Hills without them. My aunt and uncle have been there a few days and they are both very happy. The staff there has been great. They have called me several times to give me updates on my family. My aunt and uncle were at another facility and I only heard from the staff when there was a problem. I am very happy with Juniper Village and hope my aunt and uncle will be there for many years to come.

Today makes the end of the first week of my moms admission to Harbour of Monreoville although the first few day were trying (for me as well as her) I can now say that I can see hope for mom's happiness and my peace of mindI choose a 5 star rating because the staff made me feel that my angst was normal and that mom's was to I was always being reassured that the adjustment period brought with it a varying level of angst and that wpu;d decrease over time. It has. Mom now has a few freinds a good appetite and motivation to get dressand I'm am finally getty a good night sleep knowing she's safe and happy

Juniper Village of Mount Joy, PA, was one of several facilities suggested to us in our search to find accommodations for my mother-in-law. When we visited the site, we found it to be attractive and clean with a qualified medical staff. Three of us made our decision and settled "Mom" in Juniper Village in Mount Joy, PA, on April 16, 2014. She has been very happy there and enjoying herself with all the various activities. We believe they have a genuine interest in providing a good, healthy environment for their guests and, if possible, an improvement in their quality of life. As a matter of fact, "Mom's" health and mobility have improved in the past few months. We would recommend this facility to anyone interested in good quality care for a loved one.E

I am so glad we found Wood River for my 92 yr old mother. The apts are so nice with a little enclosed patio & the people who work there are the best. My mother is a very hard person to please & she's also a very stubborn & did not want to live in a retirement home but we knew she couldn't be alone anymore since she didn't want to live with us. The staff is amazing. They take care of anything she needs & look after her. It's very clean & they have so many things for them to do, they have a little grocery store for things they need & altho she gets just dinner they have a little cafe for other meals at a reasonable price. Just the other day my hard to please mother said she doesn't feel afraid in there & it's a nice apt.. I was shocked. She rarely says anything is any good unless she's impressed which is very rare. Pam & Deb are the best. We bought the life time care package so we don't have to worry if she needs extra help later on. It's so nice to know we don't have to worry & move her to other places if she needs full time care. You will be impressed. I checked out so many places & this one was far above the rest. We didn't want her in a huge place where she's just another tenant, this place is more homey & they know every one there. Love the grounds too. I give it 5 stars.

My mother has been with Harbour Assisted Living for 3 months now and my family and I have found Greg, Wendy and the entire staff to be extremely helpful, honest and loving to my mother. We are very glad to have her living there and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Juniper Village at Louisville is a comptetent, caring, and stimulating environment for memory care residents. After a terrible year at Sunrise of Boulder, which was traumatic for both my mother and my family, this has been a breath of fresh air. They are on top of all aspects of her care, have reduced the medication that she was receiving (which has improved her cognition) are and always positive about her. My previous experience with memory care at Sunrise, where I was treated as if they were doing me a favor for caring for my mother (at great expense) was so different than this. At Juniper Village they treat families and residents with repect, and let you know that they are honored to take care of your loved one. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough.

It has only been two months that my dad has been here, but the staff has been incredible to work with. Sometime the communications is delayed, but overall the experience has been great (given the circumstances). My dad seems to be adjusting well and has even said he wants to work there. This is a huge change considering the resistance to being palced in a memory care facility. He tells me that he is very happy in the facility. So far we are pleased with the cost and we have not been nickled and dimed to death. I give the facility and staff a solid A so far.

At 93, Dad needed the safety and comfort of a home and loving caregivers in assisted living. As a daughter, I wanted only the very best for him. At Harbour, I have been extremely pleased by the high level of healthcare provided by competent staff who fully address his medical issues, nutrition, daily care, friendships and overall well-being. Everyone has been very kind and supportive to both of us. The setting at Harbour is tastefully decorated and furnished, comfortable and as welcoming as a home. It deserves a 5-star rating! As a World War II veteran, Dad is one of the last remaining from "The Greatest Generation." I felt he should be given the same dignity of care in his later years that he gave by serving in the military. He has been most pleased residing at Harbour. I definitely recommend Harbour to someone looking for excellent senior care.

Mom has only been there a few days. So far the staff has been very helpful in fininshing up any loose ends as well as making sure she has some help getting to know the facility and the activities.

the staff at emeritus always has time for questions from family. they are very concerned with the residents that live there, and there always seems to be an activity planned. even if (like my mom) your older parent is against living in assisted living, this place just seems to work!

It is a very very nice community. It really is just a wonderful place. The people that work there are just overly friendly and overly helpful. We are very pleased with them and would recommend Emeritus to anyone. The staff really is what makes the community.

Friendliness & keeping people active is really great. Very clean facility.

Care givers seem a little slow and could use more of them. The staff and admin respond to questions and concerns. Overall I am pleased and suggest you check this place out.

The facility was very big and spread out. So everyone was lumped together. My husband was upset with his neighbor yelling out loud Help! day and night. Also the place was not very clean. He had ants in his room for awhile, the laundry was not done until I told someone and it smelled, and the room and bathroom were not cleaned often enough. There was a danger in that my husband would take showers by himself and end up in a pool of water all over the floor with no towel or clothes to put on. He did fall and hit his head once and had to go to the ER. I ended up moving him to Freedom House at Blue Skies. I would recommend Freedom House to anyone. It's top notch. I feel very comfortable having him there. Laundry is done every day. Showers are given 3 times a week. The shower room is locked so the caregiver must be with the patient for showers. I will say that most of the staff at Poets Walk were extremely nice and very caring. I feel like something may have been going on there because the staff began to turn over so much. Even the director changed. We were on the third director in 7 months. The Primary Doctor at Poets Walk was very distant and I only saw her upon arrival and never again. The Freedom House PCP is from UTHSC and he and his Nurse Practitioner come regularly. I had to have hospice while he was at Poets Walk only so he would get more attention.

Facility was bright and cheerful. Residents seemed very engaging with activities. All employees had a smile on their face and acknowledged me. Excellent presentation.

My mother in law likes the staff. The dining room staff knows her by name and even knows her order. The residents were unhappy with the food and they changed it to be more of a restaurant choices instead of a few for the day. My MIL asked for fish and they made sure to put it on the menu. The rooms are a nice size. My MIL is in a small one. It is considered a Medicare room so she doesn't have to move if she runs out of money. She pays extra to get her room cleaned, laundry done, showered 3 times a week, and they give her medication to her. I'm not sure how much more. She had trouble unlocking the door so they changed the door knob and lock and she doesn't have trouble now. She exercises 3 times a week and she has memory care provided to her once a week. The place is very clean and looks more like a hotel when you walk in. She is provided with a necklace/lanyard with a call button. There are call buttons in her room. She has a fridge, sink, and microwave if she prefers to have a snack. There is a bistro/game area on the second floor along with a small movie theater. I believe there is a movie every day. There are many different activities provided for the residents. The place is always decorated beautifully and there are a few areas outside that are nice.

I like that the staff are good listeners and will do whatever they possibly can to help both residents and family members with any concerns. I wish there were more activities staff so that programming could continue on weekends.

I found the apartment roomy. The tour guide pleasant and knowledgeable. Just not a fit for my loved ones needs

Like the most: food QUALITY, clean, beautiful facility, friendly staff. I would mention it as a good alternative to consider; it has many positive aspects. But I would also mention some potential negatives (which might also be found in other facilities): Rooms are small vs. the high monthly cost, aids response times to call button can sometimes be long (maybe an hour or more at times), evening (dinner) meals are sometimes light/small but residents are allowed to take additional food back with them to their rooms. One more positive I really like is that the staff is good at monitoring and checking on resident regularly every day, and are proactive about sending resident to hospital if it is needed.

It's a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff is caring and attentive. My mom is so much happier in a place that is actually half the cost of where she was living before. It is not as fancy, but the food is better and it's a overall happier place thank you A place for mom for helping me find it.
