Juniper Communities

This is an amazing place for anyone needing senior care. Their motto is "Nurturing the spirit of life" and it could not be more appropriate. The experience has brought new life and joy to my Mom. She loves the staff, the food and all of the wonderful activities. She went in a bit reluctant (fear of the unknown) and now wants to stay forever! It is such a relief to me to know she is safe, happy and so well cared for.

Things have gone very well at Juniper Village! I thought they were very in tune with what I was looking for, and they really went out of their way to work with my Mom. They are very caring, very supportive, and very easy to work with. I haven't met one person that I thought had a bad attitude! And their community has a lot to offer, if the resident is willing to engage in all of the activities they offer.

Unexpectedly we found ourselves trying to find an assisted living facility for our 87 year old mother who had fallen at home and could no longer live in her home. Juniper Village was the second place we considered and it stopped there. We love the setting of the location, easy access while in a beautiful wooded area, small and personable. The care is excellent, aids are friendly, helpful, respectful and courteous. When you walk into Juniper Village there is always something interesting or fun going on. The facility always seems fresh, clean and tidy and the staff personable and engaging. I would not hesitate to recommend Juniper Village at Forest Hills.

I think they do a great job at Emeritus at Preston! It's a nice looking, clean community, and the staff are very friendly and sensitive to the needs of the residents. They look at each person as an individual to determine how best to help them. My loved one was a but of a shut-in so they worked with him to get him involved in the community and the activities, and he is doing much better now!

I'm very pleased with how things have gone at Emeritus at Paramus, and can't think of a single negative thing to say about them. The entire staff, from the cleaning people through the administration, are extremely friendly, caring, and personable. You'll always get a "Good morning!" from any staff member you pass in the hall. They've got all kinds of activities for residents of all different care levels, and really go out of their way to keep everyone active and entertained. Mom also really enjoys the food here! They serve a good variety of dishes, you get soup, salad, your choice of entrees. They also have a menu of basic staples they offer all the time, if the choices for the day aren't to your liking! Another thing they offer that I thought was very nice is the ability to do a 30 day respite stay trial period in a fully furnished room, with no commitment, just so you can be sure you like the place before signing up. It relieved a lot of Mom's anxiety about moving having that option available!

Mary was a wonderful host and tour guide for my wife and I as we begin the search for a new place for my grandmother. She provided great information, answered all of our questions and truly understood and was able to relate to what we are trying to provide for our grandmother. Everyone at Juniper Village was warm and inviting. The facility is well kept, is in a quiet location and there was activity by the residents all around us.

A wonderful place . I felt comfortable and happy that my husband was in good care. They made so many accommodations to address his needs. Wish he could have stayed longer.

Really clean and everyone was very nice. Tanya explained everything and gave us a complete tour. Very interested in the apartment.

It has been a very good experience so far. I think they have good activities, but my loved one hasn’t done much with them yet though. The community is very a good experience, clean with a friendly staff.

This was a nice community and a very private location. A community more in the center of activity is preferred.

From the moment I first visited Emeritus in Paramus, NJ, I realized that this place was special. The staff members went out of their way to be courteous, friendly, and helpful. They answered any questions that I had, and they helped make it an easy move for my dad. In fact, I received a handwritten note thanking me for visiting Emeritus. What a fine gesture! The staff also visited my dad at his nursing rehab center, and spent time with him to help ease any concerns that he might have with the upcoming move. As soon as we arrived at Emeritus, my dad's aid really made him feel at home. She was extraordinary and helpful. The kindness and professionalism that everyone has shown my dad has put my mind at ease knowing that he will be well cared for.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. I was very impressed by what I saw here! The residents all seemed very happy and active, and they had all kinds of activities and trips scheduled. It looked like it would be a wonderful place for those on the more independent side of care, but it was a bit too large and too busy for my loved one. The staff were all very friendly, and they've been helpful and diligent when it comes to follow-up.

We loved them, every single piece was great. They hung the pictures, everything we needed. They are very responsive, and keep everything clean. Even out of state the communication is good with the family. The size of their apartment is enormous and the service is really wonderful. They are really, really good. They make everyone feel really, really special.

Our experience with Wellspring has been nothing but positive. There are many similarities among the various places offering dementia and memory care. But here, the difference comes from the staff--knowledgeable and proactive, compassionate and warm. The attitude and philosophy come from the top, and trickle down. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, not cold or institutional. The combination of the staff's (aides and administrators) dedication to the residents and their open communications with and accessibility for family members is difficult to overvalue. Overall, they deliver on the promise of "nurturing the spirit of life."

I'm pleased with it, I'm happy. It's comparable to most, price-wise, and better than some. The food is okay, and they try to accommodate her, if there is something she doesn't really like. Sometimes communication among the could be a little better. I liked the location, and I feel like they really listened to me, and addressed my concerns. I like that everything is right here in this one building, and there are more people here to help her.

This is a first rate facility. We could tell immediately they went out of their way to know all they can about prospective residents to make their stay enjoyable. Our guide had an answer to every question and did not hesitate with answers. The facility was clean, smelled pleasant, was brightly lit and tastefully decorated. My husband and I felt very at home here and comfortable that his mom would be at home here.

My father lived in the Memory Care Unit of the Emeritus at Preston for about a year. During that time his care was provided by a thoughtful, caring staff who took excellent care of him. We were so satisfied with his care that we have just moved my husband's mother into the same facility and anticipate she will be well cared for as well.

I can't say enough good things about this place! Our mom had lived alone since the death of our father in 1980. We were all worried about her but knew that convincing her to move was impossible. After a hospital stay we were told she could not go home. We met with Juniper Village in Forest Hills and moved her in the next day. Everybody's great and mum is really happy! As for the food, breakfast is her favorite. There's good communication with the staff. The place is kept very clean. They offer lots of activities, and although she said she wasn't interested she has started attending the exercise classes. Bonnie was very helpful getting us VA benefits information. The staff checks in on her regularly, so we no longer have to worry! Although we are concerned about the cost we know that they are competitive. Other then that I think I can speak for my 5 siblings in saying we have no complaints!

My husband was just transferred to Juniper Village from a rehab center due to a broken hip so my review is based on what I observed upon visiting. As soon as I entered, I felt comfortable. Many residents were in the sitting area; all talking & laughing. As I walked thru the halls, residents greeted me smiling. The staff seemed happy as well. As I said, I felt very comfortable & hope my husband who is developing dementia feels the same way. Give the place 5 stars out of 5 stars.

Jules at Devon Senior Living is a gem. This is the first facility we toured and we had no idea what to expect let alone what questions to ask. Jules gave us two hours of her time allowing us to ask questions, tour the facility, explore the activities there as well as provide a history of the building. Upon entering the building we felt a warmth radiating from the residents that we did not experience at any other facility we toured. I didn't know what to expect once we arrived but I had thought I might be disappointed in the facility due to the age of the establishment. It was quite the opposite however. The new parts of the building have been integrated into the old in such a way as to make the entire facility feel like a home. The Memory Care facility is like no other. Much thought has gone into the care and treatment of the residents. The rooms are a good size and I was actually impressed that no room in the Memory Ward has a shower located within. I felt this to be a very secure feature as we are constantly afraid of Mom falling and hurting herself in the bath. We loved the common areas with their beautiful views and open spacious comfort. The facility is clean, secure, happy, and nurturing. We are hoping to place Mom in this facility as we have no qualms about this facility being the right place for Mom and we can be at peace with the daunting decision to have to place her in an Assisted Living Facility.
