Review for Watermere at Woodland Lakes

Top notch place for the price, granite counters, brand new washer dryer, heated indoor pool. You cannot get any better for the price. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment. . Also the food is really good fun games and card playing as well and church as well. I wish Mom could have stayed but she requires full time care now. It is like a vacation place if the senior is able to be independent. They do offer an assisted and memory care in the building behind Moms place. It just was not in our budget.

Review for Watermere at Firewheel

independent living facility, no care provided. It's not ideal for diabetics, continental breakfast all carbs, little protein provided. Food allowance included in rent and a lunch menu is provided. More meals avail once the place fills up. Some classes provided but its limited now. Gym provided is a 5. Right now there may be deals so they can get the apts leased. It's expensive living here, so if a resident is on a tight fixed income, this may not be what they need. We have had a few glitches, but all in all worked around it.

Would recommend, with slight reservations.

The reason I gave threes to several things is that there has been staff turnover and I also think that considering the cost of the facility, the individualized care is not very frequent. Sometimes small health concerns have been overlooked or not dealt with right away. Also, the staff have not been very good about making sure that Amy drinks water even though I've told them numerous times to do so. Having said that, I've only visited occasionally as I do not live in Lubbock. The staff are very friendly and seem caring. I have not actually tried the food just giving [name removed] opinion about it. The facility is very nice overall.

Overall great place. I would recommend for those aging and possibly needing to move to Assisted Living

The kitchenette in the apts is a wonderful thing. Retaining kitchen staff has been an issue, so the option to cook for one's self is important. I have found that the community one looks forward to during meals is important, yet the understaffing in the kitchen doesn't seem to keep up with this. In turn, this is frustrating to the tenants who are aging and don't really want to cook for themselves. The staff is friendly for the entire complex. They are truly welcoming and have the best interest for the tenants. It's a facility that is not perfect, but excels in the community for events and knowing their tenants.

Wonderful experience in an uncertain time

I have not gotten to try the meals and dining or the activities yet. What they could improve on would be just the cost and no one seemed to know what the codes are for the visit box entry after office hours. However, yes we would absolutely recommend this community to other families. Overall we love it there!! Wonderful experience in an uncertain time. I was confident and secure, with having my loved one reside there, the next best thing to being home with me.

Little Slice of Heaven

1. 4.when I arrived I had ants it took several attempts before they were gone(2.) The dining room, library, offices are very clean. The halls not 100%, sometimes. 4.5 nothing serious!3. 5.+ 4.5. The dining room has a new attendant and she is rough on the edges. She stopped me from lunch and I was two minutes late. She is learning just rough around the edges. 5. Excellent + 5+. 6. I do not have any complaints about our chef, he is a 5, what I hate is that they have those sugary sweeteners. I don't like that even the plain is loaded with sugar, they need to offer a plain creamer alternative, their maple syrup is horrible, no butter only margarine. Yuck one molecule from plastic. Now I do not complain I just do not us their butter, syrup, or creamers I bought my own. 7. The staff have been trying to do the job they have amazed me, so I give them a 4.5(We just got a new activity director and she seems exceptional ) 8. No butter, sugary syrups only for coffee, syrup issues This affects my score. The quality of the rooms: cabinets, construction extra large closets, and wide hallways. Get a plus. Quiet ambiance, no noisy displays. Staff caring you can't teach empathy, they have it. 5. I should have include how clean our bathrooms are kept. Those halls are filled with incoming viewing our facility.

It is a very nice community with a lot to offer

It is a newly renovated building. The apartment has a full kitchen. The staff is kind. Meals are not really included. You get a $75 a month allowance toward food which equals about 3 meals making it more expensive than done if the alternatives. It is a much nicer building than some other facilities in the area though.

Friendly, responsive staff with a lovely setting

They have a smaller group of residents and twice the staff. Also have a RN in another wing that is available if she falls . They have been very communicative, send pictures of her participating in activities and generally have her out of her room much more. They also got me in touch with Hospice immediately after moving her and that reassures me that people are seeing her regularly. ([facility removed] told me several times they would forward me info from Hospice or give me contacts but it never happened ). She has no visitors other than me (about every 3 months) so she tends to view anyone who stops in as company and that is very welcome. Have not had eyes on the cleanliness yet. During my initial visit, it was very clean and orderly. Every that I speak with over the phone are very helpful, and return calls and texts promptly. All issues (mainly a few falls) have been reported to me quickly and I have been consulted about treatments. Not sure and the meals and dining. I have seen pics of her in the dining room, but no other information available. With the activities I get pictures weekly of her out of her room participating in many different types of things. It is quite a bit more expensive, but with my remoteness the communication aspects of her stay have been very reassuring for me that her care has significantly improved. Hospice has also contributed to this.

Our Isle at Watercrest Mansfield experience

Mom especially enjoys the activities at the Isle-- they have nice exercise classes, some of which are lead by the rehab group. I appreciate their care and management of Mom's many medications. It's very reassuring that they have 24 hour nursing. The building lends itself well to taking long walks-- which Mom enjoys. The salon is frequently open and Mom is using it more often for hair washing and toe nail care. It is costly but Mom feels safe here.

Evaluation from the POA and close friend of a resident.

We are very happy overall with Raider Ranch. The staff seems excellent and committed. Very nice facility. Very few complaints. The facility is lovely, and when I communicate with the staff, they are very helpful. I sometimes wish they would initiate the communication more. They give me very good feedback when I inquire as to my friend’s care plan and problems that arise with her. They were particularly kind in her initial assessment and placement, not insisting on putting her into memory care, but instead putting her in an assisted living apartment, even though her Alzheimer’s is pretty advanced. It seemed that they took into consideration her intelligence and her general needs and emotions in having to adjust to being out of her home. They looked at her as an individual and not just a number on the mental testing score. Like many places it’s quite expensive and they charge for every small thing that is done. That can be frustrating but on the other hand, the staff seem very good.

Review for Watercrest at Katy

I would recommend with reservations. A menu for breakfast is printed, showing fresh fruit, pastries, bread of different varieties. Since October, they have NEVER been available. Why print it then?? Food quality, and food safety is sub par. Evening meal is only take out. Ever since covid. Meals are very far from the restaurant meals advertised. The "free" monthly cleaning service does not include dusting or any actual cleaning. And it's not free. We are charged $50.00 for it, like it or not. It is also being taxed.. I would also like to mention some safety concerns that I have. There is no backup system for when there is a loss of power. Mobility impaired people are prisoners in their homes. It is difficult for people with no disabilities to navigate the stairs in the dark, but impossible for people unable to walk. A safe room, in case of fire, is supposedly on each floor, but with fire doors automatically closed during power outages, they are inaccessible.

Living here is great!

Moving in was easy. People. Here are very friendly and gladly. Welcome you. The food has improved since we've been here and we have a new administrator as well.. Things are looking up. We have outings and excursions to braums, Plays, Shopping in points of interest. We can be as involved as we want. And there was plenty of help if there is something wrong in your apartment. Things get fixed pretty quickly!

Positive and fun atmosphere

Mom has lived here since April 2024. She was/is drawn to the friendly and fun atmosphere. The apartments are nice and the center has wonderful spaces and options for entertainment and activities. We have been a bit discouraged of the ability to keep dietary staff. Due to staff shortage, meal times can have a long wait ( she has encountered over an hour wait), and has decided to leave the premises and eat elsewhere many times for lunch or dinner. She is quite happy with cooking breakfast in her room. We are hoping Town Village is able to hire more dietary staff, or possibly give monthly credit for not being able to have a dining experience that is included in the monthly cost. Town Village gets a 4/5. I’m hoping they are able to hire and retain dietary staff soon, but it’s not enough to shop around for another facility when the other amenities are so wonderful!

the cruise ship that never leaves port

We like all the shopping and restaurants that are close by and based on the experience we have had with Watermere at Flower Mound to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Review for The Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch

The Landing is a great place for a loved one to stay. If there is a problem, the administrator and staff are very prompt in resolving issues. The rooms are kept clean and the food is good!

Our Experience

The staff, for the most part, is friendly. Some are consistently friendly and some are on occasion. The housekeeping is pretty good. I wish it was more than once a week for apartment cleaning. Also, my mom was missing a few items so I started picking up her clothes and washing them myself. There is no real communication with family. If questions are asked they answer them, but I don't hear from the staff unless I call directly The move in process was pretty good. No complaints there My only recommendation is consistency. I've seen a few new faces in the short time my mom has been a resident. She relies on one person and then she ends up with someone new, as far as helping her dress, bathe etc. Also, reach out once in awhile and communicate with the families. They shouldn't rely on us picking up the weekly schedule. An email or phone call from the head nurse would be an added treat.

Beautiful, friendly place

The apartments are spacious and attractive. The amenities are many and thoughtful. Both staff and residents are very friendly, welcoming and inclusive. The food is institutionalized and not very imaginative, but the kitchen staff is trying to make the best with what they have available. Both my husband and I are happy with our choice. All in all, I would choose the Watercrest again and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable upscale independent living facility
