A Place for Mom has scored IntegraCare Corporation with 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 227 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, IntegraCare Corporation has 577 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.5 out of 5.
The location on the bay made this the place to be for my Dad. He moved in in August and enjoyed the view from his room immensely. There was a nice lounge next door to his room that worked well for visitors. Initially, we had some trouble getting his shower schedule sorted out, Dad wasn't crazy about the OT/PT staff on site and it took a long time for his electronic wheelchair to be ordered. Not long after that arrived, he contracted an infection in his foot. Because of poor circulation in his lower legs, he was hospitalized for six weeks, then was back at Sunrise for two weeks before he developed a blood clot and died suddenly. I liked the staff at Sunrise generally but wish they had been on-top of the infection (the fact that he stopped walking, for example). I live out of state and sometimes had to work hard to get a clear picture of what was going on. When he returned from the hospital with a higher level of care needed, they did a good job of caring for him.

It's been pretty good, they are working on the medication management. The staff is very caring, and friendly. It would be helpful if they had more residents, there are only about 16 in this unit, that gives them limited social options. We were pleased with the surroundings, it is aesthetically pleasing.

My friend says It has been challenging the last few weeks with staffing. Food is hit or miss. Care is also hit or miss. Also, it seems like they are trying to resolve the issues.

They are not as verse on handling dementia patients as stated based on training. Like most places, the hired personnel are not well trained or at times lacked compassion or desire to provide quality work. There were a handful of great people, but they are not adequately staffed due to the quality of selected individuals. The medication challenges where there was written authorization to change doses was a nightmare. They wanted you to throw away medication just because 1 additional pill added. I had to go get a new bottle of meds with the label adjusted. That was ridiculous because of med techs not reading new charts off computer and adjusting until medication ran out and new prescription received. Must account for everything in the room and be present as in what should be in all facilities. I was more disappointed because they did not have adequate stimulation on the 5th floor as they did on the fourth floor. The staff did not want the extra responsibility to take them down because too much personal phone usage. Get a clear and concise understanding on the level of actual training and activities for people with Dementia and Alzheimer's . Ask to see the certification of level of training and recertification of employees. It is a need for greater compassion, empathy and understanding. In an interview, people can say anything. They should be followed more closely and ensure that they get necessary training within probationary period. It is more than just a job. There were 4 people that went above and beyond, and that I commend. I would like to add that they did make right the things that I complained about.

The nursing staff is very caring, but the facility is definitely understaffed. This circumstance really diminishes the quality of care. The entire staff is very friendly and they make every effort to engage residents and provide a social and interactive environment. The dining room is bright and spacious, but the food could be improved i.e. special occasion meals are nice, but the day to day menu needs quality improvement.

From my mother (who supplied the ratings) - Appreciated they accepted Walt with all his issues such as blindness. The staff will listen to any problems and work to correct them. I wish more time was spent explaining meds and special rules in Memory Care. The experience is gratifying and challenging. The staff could be more interested in follow up visits.

Everyone was really nice and supportive when my Mom passed away. Front desk, caregivers, cleaning staff, activities, and maintenance are all friendly. They seem to be understaffed and I had to pick up a lot of the slack when I visited (cutting and cleaning nails, hair, and dentures - I’ve experienced this at more expensive places, too, so it seems like an industry-wide issue). The nurse in personal care was dedicated and wonderful. I wish caregivers spent less time on their phones and more time on hygiene. Had to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned more frequently.

A written report is one thing but on the spot. Actually reset call button walk away for additional time of 2-3 more hours. Total 6 hours. Cause bed/skin rash then charge person for extra care caused by med staff.

Lots of turnover while there. Most were nice. Maintenance guy very helpful. Got better care from hospice than most staff. Some were good. Other families in memory care were great because they looked out for each other's family members.

The overall experience was ok, but we would use the facility again. The cleanliness of the facility was originally not good, but it improved over time. The quality of care improved over time The meals and dining are average, with low variety, For the activities, they worked to engage residents in fun activities, For value, they had the most competitive cost among the three or four that we evaluated.

1. The activities for memory care is non existence between floors. Not consistent, therefore one floor plans actions and the second floor is dead silent. It was explained that they will combine the two floors for activities to stimulate the mind. The fifth floor has nothing and is perpetually dead silent. They are completely isolated and has resulted in my dad staying in bed. They even eat on that floor. Isolation is not good. 2. I only had three instances where my dad was not cleaned adequately, but overall it has been adequate. They have been responsive to calls for care. They do have some good caregivers who go the extra mile to ensure that he is taken care off. 3. They sent out a rating within first month when you don’t have enough data; therefore, to get a discount, you had to answer. I did not due to what I was witnessing with activities. 4. Food average. Not consistent with providing weekly menus. Some events were nice, but can be better

Memory care staff depends on who is working to get good care. Make sure you visit them often. As far as the food goes, Memory care never got what the regular facility received. I would only recommend them if you can check on your loved one frequently.

There was a change in leadership staff soon after we arrived. Unfortunately It was not a positive change. Short staffing, grumbling staff. But they were always very kind to Dad. The blindness was something they could not accommodate even though they claimed they could. If he was not blind, I am sure my scores would have been better.

I would say after being there over a year and promises of improvement which never happened I would be hesitant to recommend to others. Staffing turnover and personal care issues did not go away temporary agency people that were brought in to cover the gaps in care seem not to be experienced in elder care, nor did they have the bedside manner for it. food was subpar and menus did not make sense for elderly people. I believe there were a total of three EOO changes in the short time we were there. Overall, while there seem to be an effort for improving things it just never really happened.

We were told on our initial interview my mom would be checked on every 2 hrs. That was not true. Also she was to be started on medication, which was only vitamins for her eyes but I gave the vitamins and script to the assistant to the wellness director and she never received the pills until my brother inquired about them. They told him they thought she was a self mediator? The staff is very friendly and my mom loves it there. She loves the staff and they are quick to answer when she calls them. She likes the food. I have never eaten there. I would recommend the facility to others BUT I would caution families to keep a close eye on their loved ones care to make sure all is well and going according to plan. The move did not go as well as expected, but that was not the facility's fault. We did not get moved in until 9 or 10pm and there was an employee to meet us as promised.
