Sine the former administration left this place has fallen totally apart, care is poor, caregivers are lazy and are allowed to sit on their cell phones anytime instead of helping other team members, food is awful, nothing you are promised do you get. Looking for a new place. As soon as possible

Not for people with extra care needs as no 24 hr RN care. Staff is under trained and under staffed! Rooms not cleaned very well. Food is not very good and not able to get food between meals. The activities are great, however, and some of the staff is very conscientious, just not enough of them for a good rating. I am sad My Dad passed short of the top notch care we were promised and expected for $[removed]/mo.

My loved one spent two years here before passing. We encountered some very caring aides, but the staff overall is plagued by high turnover and is constantly shorthanded. To be fair, this is a common problem at such facilities in COVID times, but it is not an excuse for substandard care. That said, most of the aides seem to care about the residents. Management is another story. Poor communication, slow to return messages (email or voice) and generally invisible. If you are considering the Gardens, take time to research records at Ohio Dept. of Health over the past 18 months. Upside is that the Gardens does accept Medicaid. Private-pay residents will want to look elsewhere. The food below average -- well-balanced meals but poorly prepared. Also, housekeeping is slipshod and laundry service sketchy.

My mom was declined placement at our first choice, but Rutherford quickly “came to our rescue”. Red flag? Probably. Second night, got call my mom had fallen. Every night, a call would come that she had fallen but “she was fine” or she bumped her head. Her last day, she had multiple falls…VM said, she’s “OK”. A couple hours later, a call comes that my mother passed away. Strange. My mother was very ill. She was on Hospice and had dementia which is why a skilled/experienced staff in memory care was so important. So why didn’t the lead nurse or anyone on staff understand that My mom was ALWAYS going to get out of bed on her own. I told staff. I told administrators in advance when talking about residency. For a couple of weeks the “experienced staff” DID NOT understand why my mom wouldn’t/couldn’t ring the bell or read the “call before you fall” sign before she got up. This is only 1K characters worth!

I would not put anyone in this facility. It was a good tour but it was dirty, dark and just seemed run down. We had a friend who had a loved one here and they did not have a good experience.

My experience at Holiday Wildlands South as been very unpleasant, aside from the residents who are very nice, and a couple of the staff who are very nice. Other staff are non-accommodating and condescending. The food is awful. The menu constantly changes. They're are always shorthanded on service. We can't sit in the dining room because there's not enough service - we have to take our meals back to our apartments. And the staff do not care what you say. They're not attentive or responsive.

The worst possible experience….poor quality of care, lack of planning & responsiveness to patient. No communication with family Re medical care even when family is vigilant. This is simply a business..a bed to fill…no human emotion involved. Do not entrust your loved one to this type of abuse.

I would not go to this community, I had an appointment and no one ever came to meet with me. The staff seemed to be among themselves and it just did not seem like a professional place. After waiting for so long we just decided to leave. They followed up after but the first impression was not good.

Totally understaffed and half the staff that do work there don’t do their jobs. My mom goes days without important meds, waits a very long time for help after she pulls her cord , they never do what they say their gonna do. When my mom first arrived years ago, the place was really nice, even my mom liked it, this place has totally gone downhill in the past few years. The work ethic sucks!

This facility is horrible and I would not recommend letting your loved ones step foot in here. They have had several outbreaks of bedbugs- each time they just relocated my grandmother to a different room. The food is not good. But worst of all is they always have major staffing shortages. The staff that work there are nice enough aside from the hate filled grouch at the front desk, but you can't put assign 1 PCS to an entire floor. Please, If you care about your loved ones, do NOT send them here. It's a place I wouldn't wish on an enemy.

Camera's wired above vanity in every room bath... Could not believe it!! Would never put my Mother here so somebody could see her ..

When I worked here as a nurse we would have to help in the kitchen sometimes and there’s roaches everywhere they crawl on the cabinets and food and plates it’s nasty. Nothing employees can do about it. They have a high turnover rate among the entire staff. They switched the name from Sunnington to The Rutherford and think they can slap some paint and new decor on the building and it’ll fix the problems…yeah right. Send your family somewhere better cause this ain’t it.

The staff is not very friendly and my aunt said the food is not very good. We had to end up moving her out of here because they were not honoring their end of the contract and they were trying to get money from us afterwords. It was not a good fit for her and I would not recommend them.

The meals during covid were be delivering to their rooms so it was not that good, but when it was served in the dining room they were good. The activities were okay before covid but the residents are not confined to their rooms. The cockroaches there were so unbelievable, when we moved our loved ones out it was disgusting. The roaches were coming out of everywhere like their medicine cabinets. We told the community multiple times they need to spray. They told us they had sprayed which was not the case, and we realized the printer and computer was stolen.

I was not impressed. Felt like all they wanted was money and not really concerned.

My mother became ill and had to be hospitalized prior to moving to Tennessee! from Illinois. She has severe AFIB heart arrhythmia. I applied prior to her hospitalization, paid all the fees and Mays Rent to the total of $2,565. I contacted Windlands South and informed them of my mothers health and hospital stay. I was told I had to continue with 3 months rent regardless of the circumstances. I then paid for June, $1,950 leaving my mother with a total out of pocket expense of $4,515.00 I sent a certified letter to the home office which included letters from her heart doctor and primary care provider, stressing that she COULD NOT TRAVEL. She is now receiving Home Health Care. Money not Mercy was my experience. Seniors are very fragile and anything can happen in a day. My Mother is 94 she was looking forward to living close to me, she never got to see the apartment she spent so much money on.

I reviewed this Assisted Living facility when my family member was first placed here. I chose to place her here with help from A Place for Mom. I was happy with the facility and she seemed comfortable there after an adjustment period. (Her previous facility was damaged and she had spent 3-4 days in hotel rooms, very confusing to a dementia patient.). Everyone knew who I belonged to after one day. I felt she would be happy and safe there. That all changed when the facilitaty was purchased by another company. After the purchase she had over 18 unattended falls. 10:30 PM was the most frequent time for calls about sending her to an emergency room to be evaluated. Her wedding rings were missing shortly after that time as well. I was paying for her to receive extra assistance once her care plan was changed. I was not made aware of any extra support things seemed just like before. [date removed], they determined that she had become a behavior problem and they could not take care of her. (She is 90 years old folks) The situation deteriorated from there. Hospice has her now. I am blessed that she is finally with people who care about her.

Stayed one night was led to believe that medical care was available on site. Medical care was extra charge and only available 2 or 3 days per week. Put down $1500 instead of the required $1000 deposit and they did not repay any of the funds. Cheated us out of money and lied about the services.

My father was there for 4 months care was very poor and price increasing kept going up,,,,,, under staffed and poor management [removed]
