The staff is heavily involved with the care of the needs of patients. The care is loving and thoughtful. They have been very helpful to me adjusting from becoming my wife’s caretaker for 8 years to being a lie to visit and enjoy quality time. We Spend time in and out of the facility.

I do love the place she's in and the people who care for her. I pop in at all hours of the day and night. As far as the Value for the money I don't know that there is a correct number. You expect a certain level of care regardless of the cost. Everything we pay for has earned a 5 and we pay for that, no matter how. Good care is priceless.

I am greeted by name almost always. My mother is always greeted by name. If I am with my mom in the dining room, the chef will ask me if I want to join, Ask if he can bring me a bowl or a plate. He will prepare a meal for me specifically. The chef also ask my mother if she “wants something else”. There have been times when she doesn’t like the chili or something else and he has offered her a different item. The nurses are wonderful. They check on her, they bring her medication on time and are friendly and talkative with her. The laundry is done and folded. The room is tidied and cleaned. The salon will fix her hair or anything that she needs. The PT is done on a regular basis. The activities are planned and she is encouraged to join. The place is not fancy. It is, in a way, plain. Simple. But that is part of it's charm. There is a key pad to enter and leave. There is often not someone at the front desk (at least when I stop in) but that seems to be ok because the nurses seem to take care of anything my mom needs. When the front desk person is there, she is very kind and welcoming. But the place seems small enough, that if I ever need anything or have a question, someone points me in the right direction. The place is not Immaculate. But it IS super tidy and more importantly, it feels very homey. My mom is doing much better here than she did at her last place. Why is that? THE PEOPLE. Older people need to be talked to, asked after, they want to have conversation. It is very easy for them to feel invisible. Climb into their shell and just “be”. They must have people to ask them to participate, ask them to join in, insist that they make a gingerbread house, or paint a picture, play a card game or work a puzzle. They must be encouraged. I believe that KP is doing that. People. It is all about the people. My hope is that Kanawha Place is paying their people well. If they are not, and they can do better, I hope they do so and do so soon. Keep your people! Keep your cleaning staff, keep your nurses. Keep your therapists. Keep them! Consistency is everything with older people. Right now KP has a really good staff. If they keep it, they will keep getting more clients, if they lose them, they will lose clients. At least they will lose me. I want people who want to be around my mom. Want to be working with her, not sitting on their phones or griping about their jobs. I want people who care. Don’t we all? The cleaning staff, the hairdressers, the social activities directors. These are the “things” that will keep your rooms full. People don’t care that there is a movie theatre or a fancy sitting area, they care that there is someone sitting with their loved one, asking them how their day was. So far, I think Kanahwa Place is doing that. I hope they continue. As they continue to be kind, caring sensitive humans, I will continue to sing their praises. It is hard to find good people. Very, very hard. So when you do, keep them and pay them well!

The final cost would be nice. It was more money than expected. Just saying that everything is an extra cost. Friendly staff- very clean facility- everyone has been very helpful in answering questions. The day we moved my stepdad in staff and other clients would stop by introducing themselves.

My wife has fit right in and seems happy. I couldn't ask for more. It has great attitude, very capable staff, very clean, good services, and anything you think your loved one would need.

We stopped looking for a home for mom and dad the minute we walked through the doors at the Gardens of Wakefield. I was shocked to realize this place would work out for both of their needs due to the extra services that are available in the building. Since physical therapy and the home health care services are offered right here, I am able to tag team care for my parents and keep them out of a nursing home. The cost savings is tremendous (the nursing home price tag would be $[removed] for each parent) and the quality of life is beyond what I thought could be possible. To be sure this is not an "old folks home". It is modern, bright, and sunny. Many residents drive and live very independently. My parents are thriving here now that they are out of rehab due to the cheerful atmosphere and wonderful care they are getting here at the Gardens. They have also met terrific friends. I encourage any caregiver of a family member to take a tour here and see for yourself. It's cozy yet classy!

All has been good at Holiday Creekside Terrace. I would highly recommend this facility to others looking for independent living.

Received a wonderful tour from Melissa. The facility was beautiful. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Facility was very clean. No odors in the hallways. Residents all seemed so happy and glad to be living there.

Milford Place is wonderful. They treated my Mother in Law almost like family. They were caring and conscientious with her care. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the salesperson who helped us was very helpful and knowledgeable about the facility. All the residents seemed well cared for.

The staff and residents were very welcoming and friendly as I toured the facility for my dad. There was a therapy dog walking around sharing love to everyone! The facility was very clean and inviting. We are looking forward to possibly moving my dad in!

With the activities and the meals and dining service, [name removed] wasn't in residence log enough to assess these. Based on the experience we did have with Oak Hill Place, we would recommend them to other families.

The staff treates Dad like a member of their family. The facility is clean and more important a home atmosphere has become created. All of the residents are friendly and interact with each other. Dad states that they serve the best food in the state.

I have had a wonderful experience ever since I first contacted them. The Sales Mgr was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The day I moved in, the General Mgr greeted me in the lobby along with several of his staff. Everything is run very efficiently. Now that I've been here a good while it feels like home with a large family. I have so many new friends to share all the activities with. Never a dull moment and I love it!

Very friendly, excellent staff and manager. Very caring, food is great. Activities are growing. Fun place to be... beautiful grounds and I have made lots of good friends and its fun to interact with everyone.

I appreciate how friendly everyone is. Me and my dog Ginger have been here for over a year. We play Canasta every day. I have made a good group of friends and I am very happy here. The staff is nice and helpful

My experience with this place has been absolutely phenomenal! [name removed] has been amazing from start to finish. He even went as far as sending videos for the available apartments. I cannot be more pleased to have my mother living here. She is going to be so happy plus I get to see her more often! Thank you [name removed] you have no idea what a blessing this is for me, my mom, and my entire family!

My grandmother moved here this year, staff is super friendly and the community is truly a blessing. She loves making friends at the meals, says the food is really tasty. It's quickly become home for her so I'm glad that my dad was able to find this community for her.

What we loved the most about our visit was how nice and friendly everyone was. All the staff and people who live there welcomed us and it felt very homey. The views from the top floor were very pretty also.

I highly recommend Oak Hill Place. They have helped us to have peace and confidence that we have made a good choice for our mom. The staff is great. The nurses treat the residents like family. The kitchen staff tries to consider some favorite foods for the residents and tries to do meals as tasty as possible. The physical therapists make resident's therapy fun and easy. The activity department. has something for everyone to enjoy and loves creating new challenges for the residents. The rooms are kept clean and they will do extra maintenance in resident's room if they are asked to. It is common, when I go there, to see one of the staff members taking time to sit for a minute with a resident and talk with them....that alone means a lot to families.
