5 for all categories. My father is very pleased with the life that he is able to lead there and grateful that we found Maple Downs. My father is one of the Ambassadors at Maple Downs and enjoys meeting with prospective residents and their families to answer questions that they may have. During a recent conversation that we had he commented that he is grateful for the full life that he is able to lead at his age and that it is nothing like the life he would have had if he was still living at home alone. He is aware of the rising cost of living and commented that he is very glad that he no longer has household and automobile expenses.

They are not holding up their promise...a little dishonest...The meals are great, the apartment is very small, it's safe and clean, people who live there are friendly... Some of the staff is not friendly. We picked them because of the one month free rent and they haven't given it to him yet

It's a lovely space and landscape and has a lot of small areas to hang out in and lots of activities. My mother also says that the food is good.

Great community with all the amenities. I would recommend to others.

It seems the staff here really cares about the residents. I would advise anyone who is looking for a place to give it a try. It is more expensive than a regular apartment but here you are part of a community. The food is ok, not great. It's a good community and so far I'm happy here.

We chose this facility because it was the closest to his dialysis center and doctor. At the time, we thought he'd be there for just a few months. But it became his permanent resident. The rent has gone up 11 times in the past two years. In [date removed] it was [price removed]. Today it's $[removed] for the same studio. The new administration has changed to autopay. So now we don't even know how much more it will be until they withdraw from our account. There is a high turnover. As soon as someone starts working on a problem for you, they leave the position, and then no one knows anything and you have to start over. Needless to say, some things never got addressed.

My overall experience was positive but one minus was having to park my car outside - definitely a minus in the winter. There are a small number of garage spaces but these are only available if a resident dies or moves and the waiting list is long. Also there are four floors and only one small elevator. Poor planning on the architect's part. Very clean, well-managed facility. Very friendly and helpful staff. This is really a good facility for people who are still ambulatory. I noticed too many people who were moving in when they were really in need of more assistance than was provided. Meals were excellent and dining was fine. However if one needs to have meals delivered to their apartment there's an extra charge. The meal schedule wasn't good for me. Breakfast hours were too late for me because I needed to be at my parish by 7:30 so I had to make my own breakfast. Activities were well-planned and interesting but I didn't have time to engage in many of them. This facility is not a good choice for someone with limited resources. The monthly rent was raised when I lived there and it proved to be too much for some of the residents and they had to move to a different place. I really liked the staff at Birch Heights and the apartment was nice. However I found it a bit too "cliquey" for me. That's not unusual for congregate living but too many people didn't seem to have a group that welcomed them and invited them to share a table or an activity. Birch Heights works best for folks who are ambulatory (With or without a cane, walker or rollator) but might not be good for an elderly person who needs support services unless their insurance covers those needs). That's what makes these decisions so difficult for families trying to make a good choice for a loved one without a support system. I know my experience was different because I was still an employed person. I'm glad that you're there to help people make an informed decision for themselves or a loved one.

We were looking for a place for my Dad, who is independent, still drives, but for me, I needed peace of mind knowing people could care for him if he needed help. Palmer Hills checked off all the boxes. He has a studio, and it feels much bigger than expected once we moved him in. The balcony was so important, he can put out his bird feeders and the outdoors. The staff is helpful, the food is decent and overall we’ve been happy with the decision. This really is an all inclusive independent facility (meals, laundry, housekeeping etc.), not to mention doesn’t break the bank, like some of the other facilities out there. It’s a great option and definitely worth the look!

5 across the board. Price was high for a studio but it worked best for Mom. I was happy having her there and everyone was so nice! I would live there as it is just a Retirement facility but it's too $$ for me!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and more than enough. They have about 6 activities a day which people like. I haven't participated yet since I am still unpacking. It's one of the reasons I came. They also have a stove and oven to use. I make goodies for my church's coffee hour and didn't want to give that up. That's another reason I came. The residents are very friendly and I soon made friends. It has a park right across the street which is great to take my dog keno and me for walks which we love. My apartment is 2 bedrooms, 2baths with a wraparound deck which is wonderful and has a view of the downtown, rancho San Rafael so I saw the balloon races and the eastern mountains. They allow dogs. If I wasn't allowed to bring him I wouldn't have come. They have carts which help you load a lot to bring to your home. I have used them often. Can't think of anything else right now but I think that's a pretty good summary. I encourage you to check it out

We had a great experience there, my dad passed away 2 years ago, we were happy he got to be there! I would give everything a 5, I recently went there to see the makeover, it is even better now! Good memories of my dad there!!

We like that Holiday Maple Downs is safe and secure. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families but I'm just surprised how much they raise rates. [name removed] should be highlighted. She's a huge reason we are there. It's safe and secure. Has everything you need really. Clean. Fun. Can trust the staff.

Site was helpful, clean friendly. Worked with us to get the apartment we wanted and held it for Mom so she could move down from Michigan. Very happy with the place and the people.

I'm currently staying here for a temporary Stay. It has been a good experience for me, a little pricey only because I don't need to use all services, but if you use everything like meals, transportation, electricity ofcourse and cable its worth the rent price because its paid inside of the rent. Staff is friendly & personable.

This is a real nice place to live and the staff is very dependable and helpful. I have enjoyed being here and meeting all the staff and people that live here. Food is fair and most of the time it’s wonderful. I like the entertainment that they provide as well. I love bingo and bean bag baseball. I also like working on the puzzles.

My mother-in-law has lived at Simi Hills for six months now and she absolutely loves it. The residence and staff are so friendly and outgoing. She has made lots of new friends and has so much fun doing activities with her new social group. The community itself is beautiful and well maintained. It overlooks Simi Valley and is very quiet and serene. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for their parents or a loved one.

Mom has not moved in yet, but is about to once she sells her condo. Staff have been very accomodating and understanding. They provided us (my mother and I) with lunch with an existing resident to honestly and candidly answer our questions. Staff seemed responsive to our needs and concerns when selecting an apartment.

Our experience for my parents has been very positive. They have a nice apartment. The staff is very friendly and have answered all our questions and addressed our concerns. We have opted in to the Evenctus health care. And the I house therapy has been so helpful. The therapists have really shown great concern for their issues. My parents look forward to their time with them. The only disappointment has been the food. It is not as good as we had hoped. Hopefully it will get better.
