Review of Long Lake Château – A Disheartening and Hurtful Experience Our experience with Long Lake Château has been deeply upsetting and disappointing. My aunt, who is living with Alzheimer’s, was accepted into this independent living facility—a decision we hoped would bring her safety and support. Unfortunately, the opposite has been true. At the time of her admission, there were no long-term care homes available, and my aunt was placed on a waitlist for more appropriate medical support. Long Lake Château accepted her knowing her condition was precarious and that she required more assistance than a typical resident. We trusted they were up to the task. That trust was misplaced. While in their care, my aunt contracted lice. Instead of approaching the situation with compassion and understanding, the facility charged her an outrageous $[removed] in cleaning fees—a devastating cost for someone on a fixed pension income. They then repeatedly tried to withdraw these funds, causing over $[removed]

Food got worse as time went on. Bus didn't run half the time. Director and maintenance lead serving tables. Safety issues. Structural issues

It seems the managers at this property will do and say anything to get you to sign a contract. Awful. We asked them multiple times if they accepted Medicaid and they in fact do not and we have been struggling to recoup our money

I would never recommend Montara Meadows to anyone. I have moved in with my niece last weekend! The place is not equipped to care for the people they accept. The food is terrible and the activities they provide are a joke! They also do not care about the people who live there! I would rate my overall experience as a 1 as the place is not clean and is in need of repair There is no quality of care because it is independent living. Food and activities are lacking and it is not a good value for a seniors income. As you can see I have nothing good to say about the place. It was a bad experience all around for me and there are many people leaving for the same reasons I did! No I definitely would not recommend this community to other families!

It was a terrible experience so I would love to spare others from the terrible experiences we had at Holiday Rock Creek. The majority of the staff including the Administrator quit. Within the first 1 to 2 weeks after the hiring their replacements that staff was going to quit all together. They called an immediate lunch time meeting with a catered lunch. I'm not sure what became of that meeting. Can only guess. Some rooms are a little larger but you will pay more. Any thing you are told will be included will never be included unless it is in writing and has a guarantee date it will be completed. All promised cleaning needs to be in writing. They will not vacuum unless you ask and are there to see it getting done. If you want extra of any food item it will only be available IF there is extra. If you sit at the end of the dining room, you may not received the featured item. OJ is only available for breakfast.

Very high staff turnover, only one elevator for the whole building that breaks down frequently, and cold food. Plus they are raising their prices, but are unable to provide the basic promised services. My parent has missed doctor's appointments because they can't get to the first floor. They were recently without internet for a few days, and no one seemed to care. It's hard to find a manager on site when you have concerns. It's not only not worth the cost, but I believe there are safety issues.

Poorly maintained to put it mildly, with peeling paint (in the unit I occupied) to say nothing of the filthy carpeting throughout the building. I was told when I moved in that the entire building (which hasn’t been updated in 30 years or more) would be updated and modernized “this spring,” then “this fall,” then “sometime in 2025”—so if you tour and they tell you this, don’t believe it. Structural problems so bad that every resident on the first floor of the west wing is being forced to relocate to other units so that support beams can be replaced—and who will be forced to pay a > $[removed] fee to move back to their units. Very poor-quality food rich in calories, carbohydrates, cholesterol & sodium, but very low in fruits, vegetables, protein & variety. With but *one* notable exception, all-woke staff who very definitely do not treat the residents as employers to be served who pay their salaries. My 11 months there were pure, unadulterated misery & I couldn’t be happier to be out.

We only stayed one month out of three paid for. My diet is so that I could not eat 80 per cent of their food which is terrible. The cook left and another one was coming in so we had people in there that don't know how to cook. The people that work there are topnotch, couldn't be better. But they couldn't do anything about the good. Too bad I really liked it here.

Not Good. Food bad. Floors dirty carpet duct taped every where. Last meal there I took a pic of my breakfast table and all aforementioned. Servers most were rude and take your plate b4 finished. Dessert ice cream served at same time as main meal. Thrown or pushed at you. Servers dress mostly ghetto. Coffee was good. Staff friendly. Activities good. Most of us were looking for a different place to live. This is not a place for my mom and not a place for me.

Turned into one of the worst experiences of my life!! Nothing the promised ever appeared. Terrible meals, sporadic housekeeping, no transportation or off site experiences, they had a steady stream of employees in and out of there, management was a joke, and I never felt safe, since there was no (absolutely none) night staff! Don't recommend it to anyone!

Supposed to get light housekeeping weekly. It has been 4 weeks since ours has been cleaned. The GM would get a 0 in terms of friendliness of staff, but everyone else receives a 4. At the moment, we would not recommend Holiday Illahee Hills to others

Food is processed, frozen and rewarded. For the cost to live there the food should be chef prepared with a couple of options to choose from. They should also realize that many seniors are on special diets that are low sodium or diabetic. Nothing served here takes that into consideration. Please do not let your loved one sign up for this place.

My mother in law moved in before COVID. They had a dedicated event coordinator, did mystery tours for the residents, the staff were pleasant. Since the latest manager arrived the place has become much less of a community and more of an institution. 1. There is no longer a social/event coordinator this duty is performed by someone as a secondary duty. 2. The bus, when working, does medical appointments, and a weekly shopping trip to the local mall; 3. Expect very independent living. Management will stress this if there is any suggestion of needing a hand after you have moved in; 4. Don’t nod off in a chair in the Atrium; you risk having the Manager jolt you awake and scold you. 5. Don’t expect a lot of choice at mealtime, or any accommodation if you have dietary needs. 6. Don’t arrive over 5 minutes late to a meal or you risk not getting served Don’t be fooled; this place may be on the low end in terms of cost, but you can find much better for the same or a slightly higher price.

Manor at Woodside is for healthy fully ambulatory sane people with a big bankroll and local family/friends to help out. To have been inches away from my choice which was affordable to this has about put me over the edge. They've got a great salesman here and I got sold. I have no family locally and God bless those who do!!

They have thrown 2 senior citizens out in 2 months. Some of these people have no where to go. They are about to throw out an older gentleman, for being "complained" on too much. This man is extremely friendly, and means absolutely no harm. He has no family, be has nowhere to go after he's kicked out. This is ridiculous. They also run out of food for residents, almost daily.

There facility had no low sodium diet for residents. The food is very salty and over-cooked. The rooms have people who need a lot of care, especially physically. There rooms are accessible to the public and people come in to steal residents' belongings. Management will not inform the residents. Many residents have installed cameras on their rooms. When residents tell management, nothing is done. It is a dismal place to live. Street people come in to use the laundry facilities. The management does little to make the place a safe place to live. Do not let your mother move in.

General manager talks a good game up on initial conversation, but only talks about and displays (via Zoom call) most positive aspects of the facility. Have experienced much turnover in only 2 months residence, with many others seeking alternative residence. Ineffective to poor maintenance, inconsistencies with available menu options, running out of many listed/promoted items (although serving staff is VERY good, very attentive, accommodating, etc. Many maintenance items don't receive attention for months, and in some cases, YEARS. I am currently seeking alternative residence myself.

Head Chef can not cook. Corporate won't listen. Sales rep -he is a total and complete liar!! Then there is the bedbugs, all over and a total infestation. Seniors that do not belong there, because they are a danger to themselves!! Corporate won't care by the way! Food quality is minimal, just ask a few that are "with it" but have to eat there. Staff is bleak and almost non-existent!! They only care about getting you the lease! Do not do it! You know in your gut the sales guy is full of it and he is using psychological tactics on you and your family. It really truly is a horrible place! And it's 99% Corporates fault, do to their GREED. Company likes to talk out of both sides of it's mouth, an example of this is "independent living" lol right! Take a tour and look at how many are actually. The VP and RVP are as dishonest as they come too!!! Don't get bamboozled.

No accommodations for special dietary needs; rigid meal times--8; 12; 5. Be there or don't eat. Sales person was not truthful about availability. We are very disappointed and would not recommend. I have celiac disease and we have had to create a kitchen out of a kitchenette.

It wasn't this bad when first placed, some things were, but it has just gone downhill steadily.Would not recommend at this time.No dinning staff , house keeping and maintenence have been serving food. No recreational director or hairdresser.
