Nice community. Too far from family. Toured on Sunday the 20th

Construction mediocre. Meal schedule too rigid.

There is a lot of room for improvement. The management has all changed in the last couple of months. There were things that were supposed to be taken care of before we moved in that weren't and still haven't been done. There is a lack of communication, they haven't been very obliging to people who want to stay but have trouble with the price. They have wonderful entertainment and activities, but they aren't very physically stimulating. I would like to see more opportunities to get some physical exercise. I also think there is a lack of participation, and it would be nice to see a little more encouragement to do so. They try very hard to do what is right and the staff is friendly, but I am watching so I have to push them to do this or that. The biggest complaint I hear when visiting is about the chef and how rude he is. They are also often running out of vegetables so there isn't enough to go around. I would also like to see a little more variety, they could substitute a sweet potato once in a while. There aren't any choices for salad dressing. The room wasn't properly cleaned after the last resident before we moved in either, so I had to disinfect everything myself.

We just toured this community, but there were a few things that struck me as odd. This is an independent community, but there are no functional kitchen or even kitchenettes in the rooms. The desk staff leaves at 8:00 and there is nobody there at night. This didn't seem like a good situation to us.

My father lives there. The food could be better. It’s an excellent price. It’s very good for him. They are very friendly. They could be faster to respond, but they responded right away when he needed a bar. It’s a good value, but the food could be better. It is clean and friendly.

This is a nice enough place, and may be appropriate for those with fewer care needs, but they are not able to provide adequately for my loved one despite telling us otherwise. l was lead to believe that there is more help here than there actually is. I really get the feeling they just had a room they wanted to fill and they said what they needed to to fill it. They also have a few other issues that I've noticed. The washers and dryers are not available to residents for most of the day, from 8-4:30, as the staff are using them then. I've also noticed a few general cleanliness issues, carpets being dirty, crumbs on the couches, etc. Be extra sure that the level of care they provide is appropriate for your loved one before you move anyone in.

Everything is pretty good, but the thing is they tell her that they will be right up after lunch or first thing in the morning, then they don't. They don't seem to follow through with what they are going to do. I think she is pretty happy. I think the food is very good, I would give that a five, there is a choice and they will bring her something if she might miss it. The people are friendly. No big complaints, just the follow through.

They had a wonderful activities director and she was really good, wonderful. The food was awful. It's quite a lot larger than where we are now. Their laundry facilities were hard to get to. The physical location was bad for those of us that lived on one side. There were a lot of issues with the elevators. Our main problem was the size of the bathroom, I couldn't get in there with him because it was so small and he has a wheelchair. They offered to knock walls down and widen doorways, when we told them we were going to move.

May require more private care which exceeds are budget. Studio runs about $2K per month. Social envirnment, however would need hired help to get around and get assistance.

Since the present managers took over, the focus seems to be more on outward appearance than concern for the residents and staff. The previous (excellent) chef was fired and since then the food quality has been poor and servings skimpy. Hopefully new managers will be appointed that will restore the previous warm environment. The activity program is excellent, and the staff is delightful.

Toured 11/20. Nice facility, staff very friendly and wanted to please. Food ok. Did not care for rigid mealtimes. Shuttle some what limited. Apts. adequate. Mom prefers 1st floor. Courtyard nice..

The cost is supposed to include food and I have difficulty with the chef, getting food that's healthy for me to eat. You don't get any kind of a kitchen so you really can't prepare your own meals. We get every meal here but it's a struggle to get things I can eat. What they put on their menu is not edible for me. I want very simple, plain food. If I asked them to do a chicken breast. I can't eat food with gluten in it and they seem to dump wheat flour in to everything. They have very few activities. They claimed that they had activities but they don't.

They do present themselves as independent and assisted but it's really is, in my opinion, for only high functioning seniors. They put an activity calendar up but rarely is anything encouraged. The engagement of getting people involved is low. They have to be completely high functioning. I think it's a suitable place if it's advertised properly. all these establishments give you a sales pitch and once you get in there it's different. I sat in the dining room and heard the announcements. They weren't clear and they didn't ask for everyone's attention. They act like they're not dealing with a group of people that need encouragement and reminders. My mom's room is nice enough but I don't see real evidence of housekeeping. She just as easily locks her self in that room and doesn't' interact with anyone as she could living at home. I think this place is good for someone who is very independent - still drives and just wants their meals taken care of. It's probably a great place for them but if your family member needs any sort of care then it's not a great place.

Very friendly marketing staff. Hallways a bit run down; cleaning chemicals reminded us of some of the not-so-plush apartments we've lived in. Activities generally not the kind we are looking for.

There is one particular staff member there named Debra who has given my mom a hard time since she introduced herself. She reprimands my mother in front of the other residents for showing up to lunch late. Lunch is from 12 - 1 and if she shows up at 1:05 she gets talked to like a preschooler. Other people notice and have commented about it to me. They are also not responsive to maintenance requests. Those are the two main things. I think it's clean and a nice place and the other staff members are really sweet, nice, and responsive - Debra is the only issue. My mother was going to take their transport to see me in the hospital which is 9 miles away. The transportation service is supposed to go up to 10 miles away. Debra told my mom the transport doesn't go to Los Gatos but when my mother worked with another manager and asked the driver directly it was not problem. That woman just doesn't let up. It just seems weird. My mom can be difficult but no one I've talked to likes Debra.

I think they could maybe change management.
