Overall, the facility appears to be nice and quiet. However, talking to several residents there were some very important missing basic services that are supposed to be included per the contract. There is an in inconsistency of the promised housekeeping services. Because of several positions haven’t been filled there appears to be negligible activities. Specifically, they have been without an activity director for 3 months and a hospitality manager for 8 months at the time of this review.

Everyone was friendly, and the cost was very reasonable, but the environment overall was not what we were looking for. The property was on a very busy road, and there was very little green space buffer that was part of the property to insulate it from this road or surrounding businesses. The saving grace in terms of green space was the large interior courtyard. That was probably the best thing of all about this facility. Otherwise, a lot of aspects of the interior building felt dingy and kind of run-down. The hallways to the apartments were very dim, which was somewhat depressing. There were fewer good, comfortable community spaces for people to gather and visit than we had observed at other facilities. This did seem to impact how much residents got out and interacted with each other. Most of them kept to their apartments. That is not to say that there were not any community spaces or any activities. There was loud pop music playing in the main entry that was inescapable in adjoining.

I found a fault circuit outlet did not work. They disconnected the outlet, which was the ground outlet for the refrigerator. I had to move the refrigerator to a different outlet. I told them that they disconnected the refrigerator. They then had the outlet fixed for the refrigerator but did nothing about the outlet she needs for her coffee pot. The center gives two choices for each meal, but she can't get an egg and bacon for breakfast unless it's in the menu. They also do not consider that someone may have a problem with chewing especially green salads. They only pick up trash in the rooms once a week.

Personnel were very nice and professional. Facility is a little tired. Did not like the fact they only have one elevator. Place was clean. Access to services was good.

The staff and care at this senior living facility appear to be wonderful. [name removed] at the front desk, [name removed] in sales, and [name removed], the recent manager, have all been fantastic. The other team members I have spoken with, including PT/OT staff and the Home Care Hands team, have also been very kind and helpful. There appear to be plenty of activities available for residents, although my mother has not shown much interest yet due to recently moving in and possibly adjusting emotionally after leaving her home. The food has been excellent from what I have experienced, as I had dinner there one evening, and the staff made the experience very enjoyable. Cleanliness does not appear to be an issue. Everything I have seen has been clean, and the hallways and rooms are well maintained and adequate. I do have a couple of concerns. Having only one elevator for such a large senior population seems inadequate, especially for residents with mobility challenges. My mother has mobility issues and is located on the third floor, quite far from the elevator, which is concerning. Additionally, while the staff is warm and welcoming, the overall atmosphere inside the building could use more energy and personality. The décor, lack of music, and overall environment feel somewhat quiet and somber rather than bright and uplifting. The facility has wonderful, cheerful team members, but the interior atmosphere could benefit from being made more vibrant and welcoming for the residents. Overall, we are pleased with the care and staff and believe the facility has great potential with some improvements to the environment and resident experience.

There was an air of "second class" about the place. Things seemed done on the cheap. The lunch consister of bland, overdone cafeteria-style food.

Now that Brookdale Water Court is no longer managing this community and Atria has taken over, it will be interesting to see how the new ownership responds to residents' concerns and whether meaningful improvements are made. For example, one resident has been waiting for over a year to have her DirecTV service connected, yet management has continued to provide little or no response. I am a decorated Vietnam combat veteran. After an unexpected hip replacement that resulted in complications, I chose this community because of its friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, appearances can be deceiving. My experience has not matched the welcoming image that was presented. I never received any resident satisfaction survey from Brookdale Water Court, so I shared my experiences and opinions through J.D. Power instead. My hope is that the new management will be more responsive, accountable, and focused on addressing residents' needs.

Before I arrived I told the person who gave me the tour that I was interested in a one bedroom apartment; when I got there their was only a small studio apartment available. I had lunch there, I ate with one of the residents (ambassador). She was very informative, I had a salad which was made with iceberg lettuce which I never eat. I wasn't enthused about the food, the lasagna seemed a little over done. Poughkeepsie is in a very beautiful area of the Hudson Valley, hiking trails and Vassar College is close by.

I was expected and welcomed. [name removed] was warm and efficient. She presented me with a bouquet of beautiful yellow roses, The Director popped in and identified herself. She responded well to my question of her responsibilities. [name removed] gave a clear explanation of the Estate, costs, the facilities and benefits. She made some good recommendations. We had a thorough tour and shown the model then at my request a studio and the 1-bedroom. My daughter and I left feeling as though w had adequate information to make a good decision for my needs.

I like it here. Got good staff. I'm well satisfied here.

The food is not as good as it was. The experience was pretty good before, now not so much.

When I have visited my mom there, the odor down the hallway to her room is extremely offensive. It is clearly coming from one of the residents apartments. My mom says the food is very hit or miss. Sometimes they have not had enough for people who come down late. Her apartment cleaning schedule was very inconsistent for a while, but I think they have gotten on track with once a week. Another thing that would be very helpful is to have more shuttle options. She has had a very hard time getting rides to spots. There is a regular trip to Fred Meyer once a week but getting the driver to take her anywhere else seems challenging.

One thing I would say is that they need to decide whether they are an independent living facility or an assisted care facility. They don't seem to want the responsibility of being an assisted care facility, but there isn't a lot of independence either. They don't provide a dish washing machine. She has to share a community clothes washer with the entire floor, which they can only use at certain times. They don't allow her to have any kind of stove or crock pots. They told her she could have flowers on her porch and use the spigot on the outside of her building, and then removed the spigot. She bought[Amount Removed] worth of flowers and supplies and now she is losing them because she can't water them. For the money she is paying, I could find her a regular house to rent and a maid once a week to help with cleaning, and have money leftover. She would save money and have actual independence. I am currently looking for a rental closer to us so I can look in on her better. I'm not impressed at all with the place she is in for the money she is paying. It was a good transition place to move her into my area, at least. That's about the best I can say for it.

They change management alot and they have a different cook every other week. Residents don't care much for the food now. They lack activities. Before the new activities director came they said they were always busy with projects but not anymore. My son's mother-in- law is there now. Her daughter had depends delivered to the front desk. She did not get to the office before they closed to get them and I happened to be there visiting my cousin and had to take her to the store to get some. They only seem to care whether or not the payments keep coming in. They do not go out of their way for the residents.

They have almost no activities and don't ever go anywhere. Mom is just as alone there as she was at home. Very expensive for essentially what she got at home with the exception of the meals being included.

The food is marginal and wait is excessive. Staff has been fine...apartment size is adequate. I just have concerns about food quality, balanced nutrition and process in dining hall very time consuming. Other concern is very limited opportunity to do laundry. Thanks for any efforts to make the place better.

An ongoing inside demo work issue following a different apartments flood, is still not complete in the hall or in her room. It's been months! APS is aware. Also, there is a lack of bathroom cleaning. Not good enough! Otherwise she is happy with everything! Lots of activities and friends!

The facility was very clean and well kept. My experience was that the staff was very friendly. They knew names of the residence and greeted them in the hallways. I did not become a resident But my brief experience was that the staff really enjoyed their job. The cost is very competitive with the marketplace. The location is really good, close to a swimming pool, shopping, good area for walking and very close to a Dairy Queen.

On its face it was nice and clean and offered everything we needed. Shortly after I moved her in they struggled with cleaning her room in a timely manner lost employees, struggled to hire others. Days before toilet paper was given out. All things you don't see until you're moved in.
