A good place to live. I love living here. I have lots of friends here. I eat very well. I really enjoy bean bag baseball, I throw home runs all the time. I have been given the title of Resident Ambassador because I love to talk to people.

The staff are awesome. Apartment is good. Shallow kitchen sink is hard to use,ie excessive water splatter when washing dishes. Closet space awesome. I’m comfortable with my apartment and feel safe. Meals are improving with new chef; servers excellent. Nutrition is fair, could improve.

Thornton Place was great for about the first three months, then they had some staffing changes and it's gone down hill since, thus my ratings. Food quality is the biggest issue and it's been a problem for quite some time. That's really all I have to say. Their pricing on the unit increased quite a bit at the yearly renewal which I didn't appreciate it, but they said there was nothing that could be done.

It is awful. I can’t wait to move. Everything is old meals are a joke. No fresh fruit or veggies. Roast beef on menu but it was sliced deli meat. Maybe three meals that were hot. Bread so hard it could be a hammer. Very poor management. Things are not done for the residents but at the convenience of the staff. The over all place is dirty and run down. I have been here 2 and a half mi this and moving AGAIN. I am moving to [community name removed] which I can hardly wait. There are people here who belong in assisted living. Even an occupant who was at assisted living and moved here who should not be here. I would not recommend this place ever. Thank you for being so nice to deal with when I was in dire need of a room. You guys are great

I like most that this community is friendly, accepts pets and I have a lovely patio. I also feel safe here. Could improve on organization, communication with residents, meal variety, and maintenance when things need fixing. And most of all, the provided transportation. This is an inconvenient scheduling and most of us feel quite "stuck" as we're unable to drive. We were offered field trips and everyday transportation but this does not happen. I've been on one cultural excursion in a year (the Getty museum)

We signed up to move Dad in based on our outstanding initial meeting with the GM at the time, [name removed], however he has moved on and I am told (as daughter/POA of Dad's) that there has been little to no presence of real leadership, including a replacement GM or anyone from corporate standing in. We choose to assume current employees in place are effectively handling any matters of concern but the food/meal situation has been very concerning. Generally the community appears clean and well-maintained overall (repairs addressed relatively quickly) but the front banner near the street looks atrocious and is in clear need of replacement. It's a terrible reflection of what one might expect indoors. Both my dad and myself have found the staff to be generally very friendly and present for their residents, most having been there long-term so quite committed. I rated the care services this based on the fact that no care is administered here since it's independent living and have little to no reference as to how the staff responds when a minor level of care is requested. The meals is our biggest disappointment could lead to my moving Dad again. There is no consistency in meal planning per a planned schedule (if one is even printed and delivered to residents) and there are often NO other food options for vegetarians, for example. Initially we were told (and experienced) that a couple of food options would be available if the entrée was a meat item, however often Dad is told there is nothing else and he is forced to settle on a salad, fruit or receiving a piece of toast if he's lucky. This appalls us both as we're told they are unable to do much food prep or cooking in the kitchen based upon their setup and food-handling rules. Our main concern remains adequate, palatable food options. While Dad would love to enjoy more live music performances than offered, he is very happy outdoors so takes part in most all group drive activities and loves their driver and activities coordinator. We feel the value here is relatively good comparatively speaking but the food issue is so huge that it causes us to rate them lower until this is improved.

We have found Burlington Gardens to be a comfortable retirement residence with larger than average rooms and a staff who are helpful to everyone. They have mixed success with food but most of the meals are OK. It is in a quiet area of Burlington so we enjoy being outside much of the time

It is run by "big corporate" that is more interested in appearance and making a good impression than in the comfort, safety or wishes of residents. The managers are very nice but are under the thumbs of the corporate leaders who are seldom on site. The food is not good except for breakfast. Meals are dragged out for about 90 minutes so you feel like you spend most of your time in the dining room. There was no orientation for newcomers which we all found unusual and frustrating. Very short on workers which seems to be true everywhere these days. It is not an ideal environment for anyone who is still active. The activities were "childlike" and nothing stimulating or educational. Most of the residents were pleasant and I did make a few good friends with whom I am still in touch.

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the sales presentation. It was not a positive experience for my mother. It was not particularly warm and welcoming. I visited many retirement residences in Victoria and this facility would definitely be far from my top recommendation in the city. (In discussion with others, I heard similar feedback) My mother has since moved to a new facility. A much better choice.

I am quite a loner in all honesty. I enjoy the weekly happy hours he socializing is wonderful.

It just seems that they can't keep staff. They recently moved some of the residents from the third floor to the first floor or so my mother in law told us. The food has been a hit and miss. That is because the cooks seems to always quit. The Van drivers are very nice to the residents but they too seem to leave as well. Rooms are not always cleaned per their website. Activities are great! My mother in law is really enjoying them.

I moved to the Warburton earlier this summer to try a different resident living. I was a bit hesitant as I am totally active , semi-retired and most of my activities lie outside the community. I may be unique, however I will be objective for those considering a move to a retirement facility. The Pros: Friendly and caring staff. [name removed], the GM, [name removed]the Sales Manager, and Patience, the Activities Manager are great. [name removed]is also very proactive when there is a problem or issue that has to be handled. Parking is underground and secure. The facility is for 55 plus, however a majority of the residents have health issues requiring assistance or a care giver. All meals are included in the monthly rent. This is fine if you prefer dining at specific times. Dinner served at 5:30 does not work for me or I am not hungry. I lose out on several meals a week. Holiday Warburton is more of a hotel environment without the pool and bar. Good for those requiring convenience.

They were remodeling after tornado. Seemed hot all the time in gathering areas. It was good for independent living. We needed memory care so we moved.

Need security when office staff closes up. Food could be more professional, I have to leave because only make [fee removed], rents could work with management, to many leaving. SS should Give us housing so we can live without using our savings each month.

I might recommend it but really not sure. The food Is terrible and there's not enough given to the residents. The activities were great , but now not as good though they did hire someone new. So we have to give her a chance. The rent is ridiculous. And the monopoly regarding the aids it's a little ridiculous also.

I would say that the administration is not up to par. The facilities are free great but the administration is lacking following through. They were without a chef for a period of time. They didn't have a working bus that is suppose to supply transportation for almost three months. In addition, with the lack of services promised but were unavailable, they increased her rent. I would still advocate for the location but there are obvious gaps in services for our elderly. It's disappointing as my mom falls just above poverty but really unable to go anywhere else. We are almost stuck where she's at.

Local management is good but ownership rules suck. Also price keeps increasing for apartments but all amenities stay same or less.

I visited this facility in July and had a poor first impression. Even though I was scheduled to be there, nobody was there to greet me. There were a few people in the offices and I finally and to let them know I was there. As I met with the person I was scheduled to see and we walked through the building there wasn't much going on. It was very quite even though there were plenty of people in the dining room, I found it depressing. The building its self is beautiful, but dirty rugs and floors and overflowing trash cans really turned me off.

The place is clean. The staffing changes are excessive. The services paid for by residents are not being received due to lack of staff.
