We just moved our mom to Montara Meadows. The staff seems to be friendly and pleasant. However there are a few things they neglected to tell us even though we specifically asked about them. Mom plays bridge at the bridge center from 12:30 to 4:30 twice a week. We asked about transportation and they said no problem we can get her there. They failed to mention that there is no transportation after 4pm EVER. So how do we get her back? This is a big problem and I find it interesting that it was never mentioned! Over all I think she will enjoy her life at Montara Meadows. They have a lot of activities and a lovely dining room. The staff learns everyone's name so that is really nice.

It's clean and staff are friendly. Some of the food is not very aappetizing. The activities that are schedule are at most times cancelled on the residents at the last minute. The price that the residents pay to live here is kind of costly but the are paying for the amenities which includes the food cleanliness and activities. So if you improve on the food and the activities not being cancelled at last minute I think the residents would be a lot happier.

Very nice, friendly place. Now I know how all my rescue dogs must have felt after they came home with me. Food is taken care of, weekly cleaning services provided all in a climate controlled and lovely place. Swim when I want and the hot tub is a plus. Activities are abundant, as I cannot do all that offered as there are so many. Have a view of the White Tank Mountains from my apartment window which makes for a beautiful beginning and ending to my days here. Have discovered that a studio provides all the room I need. All in all, this is a great place for an active 74 year old lady.

While Copley Place has eye appealing aesthetics it's loading and unloading zone in the rear of the building is a disaster, Instead of having circle drive with a high canopy for loading and unloading only there is no designated aria for this with a long winding walk and only one ramp far left of the door. Another elevator is badly needed to not only handle meal time rush in which happens three times a day but would allow one elevator to have delivery priority so people and freight could move efficiently.

During my Mothers stay at Echo Ridge we had a very nice experience until her needs changed and we had to seek other alternatives. The Echo Ridge facility was well maintained, the food service was great and the staff was very nice and helpful until we were forced to relocate my Mother to an assisted living facility. My mother began having issues relative to her personnel carry,medicines and her mobility. She actually left the center and walked about three blocks and fell. The local service station attendants helped her and when they saw here ID she was returned to Echo Ridge. I tell this because it was the beginning of Mom starting to need daily assistance. None of this was the responsibility of Echo Ridge and is not a complaint. Jan 4 she fell in her apartment and had to be taken by ambulance to the Hospital. There she was diagnosed with the flu. From the hospital I took her to my home to provide her the daily care she required. This is when it became obvious she was needing assistance in several areas. This was confirmed by her Doctor. From Jan. 4 to the 15th I was in constant contact with Echo Ridge personnel and confirmed she was in need of more assistance. On the 15th I gave them a written notice and assumed that would start the 30 day vacate notice period. I was prepared to vacate the apartment by the end of Jan. This is when I found out I would be required to pay through the end of Feb. So from Jan 4 to Feb 28 we have not used the apartment or the services. I emailed the corporate office for a discussion but got no replies. The local people did not consider providing relief on the payments even though they were very aware the situation was beyond the services they could provide. My point is that with the recent changes, the compassion that I recognized earlier on seems to have been replaced with other priorities. The facilities are very nice but the latest changes are in question. I would not recommend accepting the vacate clause in the contract as vacating most likely will be unpredictably. The 30 day notice is thirty days from the beginning of the next month. Not 30 calendar days. In our case we have had to pay for almost 60 days when vacating was due to medical and health reasons not being available at Echo Ridge.

The facility is clean. The staff didn’t seem as happy – bitter and angry. Their price was higher than the other community we looked at and the parking was awful.

I found that they make promises they don't intend to keep just to fill their rooms. Then they expect you to hire outside help which raises your cost tremendously. Residents I talked with also say they will say anything to fill the rooms then its your problem. The facility is nice and food is good and plentiful but unless your loved one is truely independent I would be very careful.

What makes Hidden Lakes somewhat unique is much of the community lives in a residential neighborhood. That part of the population has many married couples. As a result, Hidden Lakes seems to have a higher proportion of men than is usual, also a more active population than is usual, perhaps even a younger average age than is usual. And of course, there is the lake, which power walkers, sightseers and even photographers circle rain or shine. On the negative side, there seems to be a high turnover among the management. I do not know if that is typical or not. Perhaps because the population is relatively large, about 150, the food is mass produced, not cooked to order. When visiting, take your parent out for a meal. A positive word about the meals, they are scheduled so have become another social event. People begin to gather as much as a half-hour early just to sit and talk. When we were looking, we judged our parent would like Hidden Lakes better than anyplace else we looked at. The report from that parent is, "It's better than I expected. It's fun. There is a lot going on. People knock on my door to invite me to activities, something that did not happen in my house."

I needed help Fast ,They are Awesome

My mother moved into Briarcrest in Sept 2013. They did a lovely job of getting her apartment ready with very nice upgrades. Since then things have been sub-par. They transferred a chef with subsequent weeks of bad food. They transferred one set of care takers; the second set quit because they were so unhappy with management. They are still using temporary managers. Activities are frequently cancelled. Disruptive rumors are constant. Ownership from Oregon seems not to know or care. I hope they get their act together soon.

Was able to experience first hand many of the different opportunities offered by all of the people--from the managerial, workers, & residents--at this community.

It was an older facility. It was fine and the people were nice, but nothing jumped out at us at all. We decided to move to a different community.

My mom had lived there a month when we decided to put her in a home with more nursing facilities. Overall, I was disappointed in the quality of the upkeep. They said that they were going to get new carpets - they were filthy - but they didn't do it. The paint on the trim work was bad. The kitchen was right there when you walked in. The people always seemed happy, but the upkeep was enough to turn me off.

Rock Creek was nice, but the rooms were small. We toured for financial reasons, it was within our budget. I think that the rooms were a little over $1800.

We are happy to have moved Mom into Copley Place but apparently the meals have been some concerns to my brother and myself......Mom has reported to us that MOST meals that are supposed to be hot are NOT hot and maybe even cold.....she had a session a few weeks back with the chef and she reported her concern and NOTHING has changed.....we placed Mom in the property because it was beautiful and she would be provided with 3 complete meals.....we are very concerned that she is not getting meals to her satisfaction.....

It's a sister residence of Redwood, which my mother chose. We went and saw this one too and it seemed kind of dark and you had to walk a long way. We didn't see very many people and when we did we didn't see very many smiles.

For the most part, Holiday Rock Creek has been a good place for my mom. However, there has been a horrible, foul odor just past the entrance of her hallway. It has been noticeable since she moved in at the end of October. Other residents have mentioned it as well. It is really bad. The meals have also been sub par. When we took the initial tour there was a chef and for the first couple weeks my mom said the meals were good and sufficient portions. Now she says the meals are very poor in quality and serving size. One chicken strip , for example. I know the facility has had trouble keeping house keepers, but [name removed] has cleaned my mom's place several times. [name removed] seems to be available at all times for all things. He has been great! Hailey has also been helpful and seems to want to help and make things better.

The overall director seems nice and genuine. The biggest disappointment honestly has been the food. While yes they offer 3 meals a day, the food choices are few and the food tastes terrible. When at the resident meeting it was asked why there aren't more sugar-free diabetic options was told they don't have budget to offer those options. I would guess there are a lot of residents who are diabetic. Why would you want to feed them non healthy food and kill them sooner? Also, they are understaffed. In all departments. Apartments are supposed to be cleaned either weekly or every other week but often they don't clean for a month or more. If you go in with low expectations then you will be happy, otherwise if you can afford it then maybe this place isn't for you.

I haven't heard much in the way of positive remarks lately. The food is cheap highly processed without much emphasis on nutritional value. Rules are always changing. Staff doesn't last long. They just got a $[removed]a month rise in rent, and there is a $[removed]"anniversary payment" tacked on once per year that no one knows the purpose of. It seems to simply be poorly run. My mother does not like it there.
