What I saw, I liked. We just didn't get the complete tour. There was a very bad storm that day and they had no electricity. So, I didn't get to see a room. But the staff was so very nice.

I arrived at Kingsdale Castle one hour ahead of the scheduled visit and took the opportunity to walk around the neighbourhood. There is a public park, a dog park and a nice trail in a wooded area only two blocks away in the quiet suburb of Petronilla Village. Upon returning to Kingsdale Castle, I took a walk around the building, surrounded by an abondance of parking spaces and parking garage. Upon enterring the building, I was still ahead of time by a half hour but the host [name removed] willingly took me for a visit to the available room. The room was cleaned, nicely designed, with a balcony, a large bathroom, window and even balcony, looking out into the woods, very peaceful and quiet. I was completely satisfied with the room. The hallways outside the room were cleaned and spacious and the dining room seating and table arrangement was very accessible with detailed menu and three choices per meal, 24/7 access to coffee booth. Kingsdale Chateau has a 5-star hotel feel and ambiance to it.

Food is quite good. Activities were presented as being more robust than they actually are. Administrative staff is slow to respond and not great at follow through. Cleanliness is very good. Room is also quite good. Value for the money is what drove us to pick this.

I would give this a 4 on all above categories. Staff is very helpful and friendly, I am still in the process of moving so I have been unable to do any of the activities. Thrme staff is great, the few meals i have had here are good.

I very much liked this facility. They had lots of things going on while I was there. A discussion with quite a few residents was in progress. Some were gathering for lunch and there were a few in the exercise room. They are in the process of upgrading and refurnishing some areas, but everything still looked clean, organized and in use. The people were friendly and answered my questions with great patience.

*** dad has not participated in any of the activities. I think the options offered are great. He's just chosen not to do any of them. *** housekeeper is wonderful. However, there have been several occasions she has not come either because she's needed else where or she's been out for personal reasons. There's been little to no replacements. So dad goes without housekeeping even though it's part of what he pays for. *** Meals - dad likes to cook for himself so he doesn't have to not go to the dining room very often. He enjoys some of the meals. Our family thinks the meals are good. The issue for him with the meals is the timing. Since he lives in one of the cottages. If he does not get out the door and to the dining room on time, the meal is over and he has to cook for himself anyway. So more times than not he elects to cook for himself since it's more flexible for him. This has been a great place for dad to continue to live independently and be with others learning to accept the changes that come with getting older.

My mother seems fairly happy there. She's made some good friends. She says the food portions get smaller and smaller and has some minor complaints but overall she seems happy.

The staff is very nice and my mother usually likes the food so overall as good of an experience as it can be considering that even at 81 this is not where she expected to be living. Yes I would recommend them to others - but the one thing to keep in mind as this is independent living is there is no staff after about 7-7:30 and some folks seem to be shocked by that. And yes they can call in staff for say an emergency plumbing fix etc. but would take some effort as the people would need to know who to get in contact with etc. as once they're gone they don't come back until around 7 am.

People here are friendly and happy. The food is very good, and a good variety. I would recommend to others.

The staff are very kind and helpful and see the residents in personal terms. They treat residents like individuals. The restaurant is quite good and 3 meals per day is nice. The rooms aren't always great or as accessible as you'd expect for a senior living facility. The fridges are small and located on the ground, making it tough to get to. doors are often worn and hard to open/close. The HVAC units don't always cool the rooms well. So the facilities could use a bit more attention. The humans there are wonderful, the food good, and the facilities could use some work. All that said, she's happy there.

My dad is the one who's living there, but I see him pretty regularly. When we first visited, it seemed very comfortable and homey. Sometimes he eats alone, which I feel bad about, because there are a lot of people in the dining hall. It seems like the cleaning staff doesn't really do very much to clean his apartment. They vacuum and clean the floor, that seems to be about it. They might do a little dusting, I'm not sure. I think the apartment is a good size. My dad is not a card player, and he doesn't do a lot of the games that are available. He does like bingo, and he really likes karaoke. He would like there to be more chances for the karaoke. They did it a couple times, and he was the only one participating.

We were very impressed and continue to be. Very grateful that my Dad is currently at Holiday Rock Creek. We have had a great experience with staff and management. Our Dad seems to enjoy the meals and structure provided. He is currently in a studio with a small balcony and the space seems to fit his needs. I'm not sure that he has joined any of the activities provided but he has the option to join many activities per week. He uses the Trimet Lift services but also has the option to use the transportation provided for shopping etc. We are overall very pleased with our experience at holiday Rock Creek thus far

Love it so far ....very happy everyone so nice staff and other residents anxious to help. I have nothing to compare it to, as it is all That I am familiar with.....I will give it a 4.....seems like a small community everyone interested in the best interest of others.......different than the BIG ones that have connections to hospitals etc.

My sister is on a very limited budget so she took the smallest room available. It is OK for her needs. The staff has been fantastic. The food has been very disappointing to my sister and all the friends that she made there. We are not happy with the quality couple weeks ago they gave them a bratwurst sandwich with absolutely no sides whatsoever. Several times they have run out of food and had nothing else to offer which I was appalled at hearing activities have been limited because the van for transportation has broke down at least twice since my sister's been there she moved in the last day of June. Last time it broke down, stranded people in wheelchairs and other people with walkers on their shopping days, and the staff had to go pick up people and then call in their husbands who drove larger vehicles to pick up the wheelchair people and it was very stressful on the people that were stranded. My sister was not part of that crew, but she heard all about it.

Food is good. Apartment is small but comfortable. Staff is responsive.

Mom seems to be happy with the staff and everything else but the food sometimes leave something to be desired. It's understandable that the The food has to be made for a variety of tastes and health concerns but it isn't always what my mom likes.

Grateful to them for opening the doors to us knowing that she had some issues... we did not know where we were going to go....staff is wonderful and appreciate the amenities that go with the accommodations...what sealed the deal was the opportunity to have in home health care from Hope Services who is imbedded there at the facility...without them I do not know if we could have weathered the storm...she was able to remain there with Hope Services providing what we needed and then having Angels Care provide her needs on her last few days in Hospice...I would have given them a 5, but following her passing, corporate tried to charge us past the 30days notice.. which was a difficult situation... [name removed]/marketing worked hard to eliminate that which we appreciated...

I mostly dealt with [name removed] and I would rate the experience with her as great, professional and caring. As far as the other items my brother tells me he enjoys it at Briarcrest. My brother enjoys the food. Servings are okay and allowed to have extra. Overall recommend - nice quiet neighborhood, staff is very helpful, clean and the residents seem happy.

Video tour was good. Improvements in property were appropriate. [name removed] was friendly. Nice facility. Price high for me, but all inclusive.

The staff is great, so helpful and kind. Food is sometimes good and sometimes bad. It's a struggle to get someone to clean your room.
