The facility was kept clean. Staff dropped the ball on mom's apartment. Aids independent of MD. The group we hired was pretty good but had staffing issues. Local management was available and likable but sometimes his behind blaming corporate for certain policies.

Facilities are old and need updating. Staff is very understaffed and we are not receiving what was promised and paying way to much for benefits. They could improve on the meals by listening to the residents suggestions.

My parents moved into Holiday Alexis Gardens about a month ago, and are very happy. Food is good, activities are available, and staff are professional and helpful. They are doing some renovations, which it will be even better when it is complete. It is all-inclusive. Meals, Direct TV, internet and all utilities are included. Phones is only thing my parents needed. They do light housekeeping, and all provide alert buttons for emergencies. I am really happy my parents chose to move to Alexis Gardens.

Great facility, with good people at a reasonable price. The only criticism I have is with the food. The residents are telling me it is getting worse. In fact as I meet the residents, the quality of food is their only complaint.

Residents & employees are great. A nice place to live. I've been here 9.5 years and don't plan to move anytime soon!

We found that the lack of private laundry facilities detrimental to my wife's health. We much prefer to have a full kitchen and private laundry facilities in our apartment. Also, there was a lof of staff turnover.

My Mom only lived 5 nights / days. Never used anything provided. My sister brought her food & took care of her. Annoyed that they won't refund the HOA Part of what I paid. Even though she didn't use ANYTHING! [name removed], the patient advocate, was great. The management not so much. I would tell others to look at many locations and read the contract carefully.

This is a clean, friendly facility that is well maintained and close to shopping.

The Internet is absolutely horrible, and my mom barely gets any hot water in her room They need to be more mindful of those with special dietary requirements.

I think Willow Grove is a good value and more affordable compared to larger senior independent living communities. The renovations done in 2023 resulted in a very attractive lobby and fresh looking community spaces. Would like to see Willow Grove increase resident count, closer to full capacity. That would hopefully increase their operating budget, allowing them to staff up more, provide more activities, and importantly could offer better transportation services. The community bus driver is terrific, but hours are very limited. Would like to see bus transportation offered 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays and perhaps 1/2 days on Saturday/ Sunday. The staff at Willow Grove are very professional and try to be helpful. They do watch out for the residents. Right now. the kitchen that prepares meals for residents seems understaffed. The menu is very limited. The evening dinner meal is often very sparse. Food choices that appear on the printed menu are not always available. Would like to see WG increase the housekeeping somewhat because there have been many times when my mother's apartment does not get cleaned on schedule.

I think it's a good place the food could be better other than that I think it's a nice place. They were very friendly the people are all friendly it's easy to make friends here.

My mother is happy living there. The staff members are kind, patient, and caring. The residents are friendly. Daily activities are provided to improve the physical and intellectual health of the residents as well as weekly entertainment. The food quality is reasonably good.

Very nice. Lots of options for floor layouts, variety of entertainment, professional chefs with options for more than one main dish at each meal. Nicely located in the community. Reasonably priced.

The Essex House is great because there are staff that know their residents and they keep a watchful eye on the residents. So if your loved is mostly independent, BUT they need to have proper meals and to have a LITTLE supervision, Essex House is the place. We really like the availability of using washer and dryer without additional cost. Physical therapy available on the premises. The personnel that was there when we moved mom in were wonderful and interacted with the residents. Some of them have since retired or quit. Unfortunately their replacements are not as accommodating to the residents. Which in all fairness, it's a known fact that companies want the same quality with fewer staffing.

I have been mostly satisfied with my current situation, but I could be a little better if there was more food on my plate. Otherwise everything is fine now. 'Xxxxxxxxxxxxx. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The accommodations are excellent The staff is outstanding The meals are above average The activities and events seem to be numerous ................................ there are various options for apartments, etc.

We love the transportation and safety aspects, but there is no housekeeping in her room that we pay for monthly! And there is a no salt option on the menu.

the availability of the bus is great, but more trips would be so much better. like shopping at a mall, where you can go and do things. i personally would like to see something after dinner like an easy game.

The monthly rent cost is pretty high, but it is cheaper than a lot of other independent living facilities and is on point with the rental market prices in the Knoxville, TN area. The staff is friendly and they take time to get to know their residents BUT there does seem to be a lot of employee turnover. Move in process was pretty easy and they were accommodating of our time frame of when we could move in. The meals are pretty decent, but they can change with each chef that gets hired (different styles and quality). Housekeeping is wonderful, the facility itself is always clean and organized. The weekly light cleanings in the apartments are fantastic and they do weekly or bi-weekly inspections to make sure everyone and everything stays clean and safe. Communications with the family is pretty relaxed since I usually visit the apartments 1x/week myself, but if there is an emergency or change with the facility notification is sent out (ie, phones went down and emails went out to all residents and their families to let them know). I would recommend this place to others that are looking for a safe and clean place for their loved ones that can still care for themselves but need or want someone to keep a "watchful" eye on them.
