Terrific facility, clean, upbeat, very nice rooms with private terraces/balconies which is so important for fresh air and sunshine. The food is fabulous, and my mom really loves the people and the activities available. "Everyone is sooo happy here!" is her daily refrain. Almost everything she needs is included in the price of the (reasonable) rent: linen service, weekly housekeeping, maintenance, 3 full meals, emergency call buttons with quick response times, cable TV, some transportation, social activities, and more. The only limitations are probably in line with the affordable prices. For example, transportation to doctor's appointments is provided in the rent, but only on certain days/times which makes it a bit difficult to schedule around the doctor's schedules. Mealtimes are really fun--full scale productions, really--but you really must arrive right on time (or order for room delivery in advance) because once each course is served, it's over. Access to food/snacks outside meal time is limited, (e.g., there is usually coffee/tea/lemonade and some sweet snacks available) but the after-hours self-serve soup is usually empty. So it's important to have her own food and snacks on hand in her room--and each unit does include a refrigerator. For Catholics, it's great that Eucharist is offered albeit not full Mass, and non-denominational bible study and Sunday church service is offered on site. All in all, this is actually all quite luxurious while remaining a good value. I would definitely recommend Greenwood Terrace. More importantly, though, I know my mom would--and very enthusiastically as well!

They were very quick to respond when I needed a bed. I got a very good apartment, but there wasn't a bed when I arrived. I have not needed a lot of care. I think they could have more fun outside activities.

The Springs of Escondido is a jewel. It is the prefect setting for my aged father with a greater than average number of men in residence. The staff is friendly without being overly so and the amenities are pleasing to the eye and the spirit. There are daily activities for those who wish to partake of them and a shuttle service is there to help residents make appointments and to get out and about. I feel I can relax and enjoy my father's later days knowing he is in excellent hands and yet still able to be as independent as he chooses.

It's been terrific. They are really happy there. The staff is really friendly. It's an older building, but it's well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. I give them a four and a half.

I think they do a great job overall at Hartland Hills! It is a clean, well kept, nice looking place, and everyone here has been very friendly. I'm really enjoying myself!

Our mom hit a rough patch a few months ago and we didn't want her to go back to living alone in her apartment after a recent hospital stay. We investigated over 40 places in the region, learning many valuable pieces of information along the way. We kept coming back to The Manor - it stayed high on the list as others fell to the wayside. She is there now and is very pleased with the facility. We are, too! She is safe and sound, has many activities to choose from every day, and the staff is amazing. She can hire aids at The Manor or get her own. The halls are wide with hand rails all around and there are several lounges and rooms for the various activities. The meals are nice, too - I ate several with her during her move-in days. Her room is large and her shower is great - it's a walk-in style, with a good size bench. Such peace of mind, such joy, such relief after all she had been through. All of us sleep better at night now.

People have been very welcoming and nice! Also very patient with my parents as they are asking a lot of questions and trying to get acclimated to their new environment.

Everyone at the Westmont has taken such good care of my mother since she arrived there last June. She has really blossomed since moving in and meeting so many nice people. She absolutely loves her apartment! She's had two hospitalizations since moving to the Westmont, and everyone has been so caring during her recuperation back at home. Everyone who works there goes out of their way to make sure mom is okay. They help me sleep at night now!

They are doing great! I gave them a four and a half, because nobody is perfect, but I don't have any complaints. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I like the food, I don't have to cook it. I'm happy with them.

I moved my mom to Uffelman Estates and we have been very pleased with the community. It does not offer care givers, but there are community care givers that may be hired if needed. This community is for those who are still able to live independently. Food is good and pricing is reasonable.

Most of my experience with Echo Ridge has been really good. The company does mislead you a little bit when talking to you about what to expect. For instance, we understood that there would be more time for the driver to take us to various places throughout the week. There have been a couple of things like that, but otherwise it has been a good experience. Very clean nice place and excellent friendly staff.

I rented a studio room for my brother without him seeing it and then moved his furniture in and got everything ready for his move. He was pleasantly surprised when we took him to his room, it was freshly painted, new carpet and well cleaned throughout. Took him to the dinning room for his first meal that was real good. It has turned out that he just loves it there.

They have been very good at responding to my personal requests expeditiously. I have Parkinsons, so I require a lot of extra grab bars and other modifications to my living space, and they have graciously and speedily accommodating all my requests. I would like to change their meal hours, but the food is better than I am accustomed to (though it's not five star by any chance).

I think overall it has been a very good experience with Redwood Retirement Residence. They have a great staff, and excellent managers as well. They are very hands on. They know about everyone, and check up on the residents regularly. It's been a very easy process getting mom set up there. They are doing a little remodeling right now due to a recent minor earthquake in the area, so there is some work being done at the moment, but other than that it is a very clean and beautiful facility.

Everyone here at Blue Water Lodge, residents, employees and management have made us feel very welcome and have been very helpful.

I have been living in Edgewood Downs Independent Living Retirement Community for 14+ months now, and am LOVING my time here. What I appreciate most from all of the Holiday Homes is that each resident can participate in as many or as few activities and events as they choose. I call Bingo each Wednesday. I am also an Ambassador for our community and get the opportunity to explain our community to guests. About Edgewood Downs in particular, I recommend to folks considering our community that they share a delicious meal with us, and take a "sense" of the room. In our case, we have a very friendly group of residents; we enjoy each others' company; we look out for each other. I love the STORIES each resident brings to the community. The wisdom from residents is awesome. We have great fun with the bingo; with bean bag baseball; and with our various activities. We have had musicians, magicians, singers, all sorts of entertainment. We have had a Valentine's Day dance; a Kentucky Derby Day hat contest. We have great transportation for health care and shopping. We have an Independent company available to provide home health care as needed. Please come visit our Community and join us for lunch.

They have a really great staff at The Westmont. The activities are wonderful, although I do feel they could expand a little (maybe some sort of crafts, and maybe something like a spa day). Overall it has been a very positive experience, and I would definitely highly recommend The Westmont.

The people at Bluebird Estates pay incredible attention to my mothers needs. If there every is any trouble they are right on top of it and communicate with us each step of the way. Mom is very satisfied and feels at home.

They really are very good. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They are so nice, and compassionate, and patient. My one complaint would be the common room. It needs to be refurnished, and the carpet needs to be replaced, it stinks. They tried cleaning it and it didn't help. Other than that, they are great and I am really happy with them.

It's really a retirement community. They don't have their own assistance, there is an agency on-site in the building that can provide care at an extra charge. (We did not have a good experience with the Right at Home care service onsite, but they did recommend another service that is working out great!) They have had seven different managers in a year, and the one we interviewed with had only been there 5 days, we liked them. The assistant managers that were brand new, were sent for a two week training, and then never came back, and they have what they call floater managers and it seems like they are there as often as the managers are. Management is really inconsistent. The residents all complain about that. They have strict meal times, and the people complain about the food, it's just food, they will have a lettuce salad with a cucumber with it. If someone wants to come and eat with the resident, it's free. Their mealtimes are set, and you either come or don't and they don't have much choice, if you don't like what they are serving they will give you an alternative, but it's something like a cheese sandwich. The meal servers also have a high turnover. The food is also very salty. The apartments are lovely, and the atmosphere is lovely. The halls have little nooks so you can sit and visit with your friends. They have a lot of little gathering areas, a fireside room and their lobby. It's really homey, it doesn't feel like you are in a hotel. They have lots of activities and crafts, they go to outings. I would be very happy living there. It's a lovely setting, you can go outside and go for a walk within a gated community, and they have a duck pond.
