My Grandma loves it.

They're very professional, the care is very good. My father doesn't have any of the aid services, he's still on his own prety much but they do provide those and they seem very attentive and responsive. They have something going on all the time, they have singing, they have bingo, they have dancing, they have a social hour, they even have card games. They have day trips they sometimes go on, they sometimes go on a drive through the mansion and then once a month they go to Montecito or something like that. When you hear the cost and you hear, in my dad's case, they're paying 3000 a month, you think that's really expensive but it includes everything. He gets 3 meals a day, all the parties, all the cleaning, all the activities, all the utilities, it's all included. The only thing they pay for is the telephone and time warner but everything else is included so in the end he's probably saving money.

We're extremely happy, it's wonderful. The workers there are jsut so friendly and they'll do anything and everything, there's never been a time when I've gotten there and haven't been greeted or said hello to. They're constantly taking care of things all the time, the care is excellent, we picked up on Delphina's personal care and they're just excellent and mommas so happy and doing very well. Often times they have people coming in with music and such and the care givers always make sure that they take her to that; they constantly have things going on all the time. The food is great, they're very caring and if there's things they don't like they make sure they don't give it to them. They have several personal care groups there in Valencia and interviewed several, it was just so wonderful for us. When we went up there to see it it was like like "ah, this is perfect."

He was living at home and got a bladder infection, at the time I didn't realize how big of a deal those are for seniors but his primary care doctor didn't find it, they found it at Golden. When he got back from rehab they didn't have the nurses that he needed so we had to look for somewhere else. Golden was awesome though, it was the best facility I had walked in to out of the 8 or 9 I saw. It had a hotelish look of it, it didn't seem like it was just a board and care place, it was more townhomeish but they did charge you a lot more than the other ones I looked at.

I thought the managers were extremely professional and attentive. My sister liked it because it was right in the area she wanted to be. They made it very clear that she could feel like it was her home and they individualized their service for her. They do great at accomodating her needs and they're very friendly. She doesn't do too much of the activities but that's a personality thing, she may later on with things like trips to the mall.

It's worked very well, the people are very nice and the move in was smooth. We've been trying to understand who does what as far as who's associated with the different facilities. We needed some back up care as far as things with medications were concerned and I guess they have groups that work with them but aren't them so that was a little confusing but it's sorted out now. We like the location because its right on a side street and he can drive up to a shopping center and go out to eat without getting too far. I like the programs because the have enough activities and they encourage him to be active which is vital for his situation to keep his mind as sharp as possible for as long as possible. They do encourage him to go out, they stay and talk to him and tell him whats going on and encourage him to go. The price is good because things can be horrible expensive but being able to tailor things to his needs is nice and there are eyes on him so if they notice a change they can do something or tell us about it.

Genesee Gardens was the only place that, to me, was not a place I walked in to and looked around and thought "Oh my god people come here to die", they encourage longevity, they encourage involvment and activity. This is where I would want to go, everybody's personable, everybody's walking around smiling whether they know you or not and the residents are like that too. The managers, Melissa and Jason, are awesome, I just love them. Whenever we've had a problem they've addressed it right away. Kelly is really good with the residents and I've been there for meals and they're always playing games, musicians come in, they have outings, doctors visits, they go to the casino and they recently had a classic car show with tons of free food. Jason and Melissa do an awesome job.

Rancho Village is an absolutely wonderful community. They are not as fancy or classy as other communities, but they are very well run. The residents here seem to be really happy. They are a very good community that worries more about what they can provide and how they run the community over how fancy it is.

Primarily an independent living facility.

I have been here now for 3 months and I could go back to my home now but I've decided that I really like it here and I'm going to stay. It has really helped me with the social aspect of my life. There are activities which I really like, like bingo and dominos - we play mexican trains a few times a week. The food is certianly adequate. It's not ever going to be exactly how you would cook it but I like the food. I have a lovely apartment with a patio and access to the outside and this is a pet friendly place. I really like it here. I feel at home. The only thing is I think needs to be emphasized about Summerfield is that it's an independent living facility. It's really not a place for Alzheimer's patients unless they have an aid that stays with them all the time.

My wife's mom is the most crotchety, mean person that I've ever seen and she is happy there; it's unbelieveable. She loves it there and that's saying something. She's a litte upset because she just gave up a home and all of her stuff but she talks about how wonderful it is. She's out over a lake and they put in a fence for her dog and she can go eat anytime she wants, day or night. The staff seems great and the value is good. As far as I know, she loves the food. She's a little standoff-ish with new people but she's started to get to now some people there and had fun talking with them.

We chose Rolling Rock because when my brother and I visited, they invited us in with no pressure and we had lunch with one of the resident couples there so that we could ask them all about Rolling Hills Ranch. Rolling Hills is a very easy place to live. The staff know all the people's first names and they greet everyone by name. While I was there over the Fourth of July weekend, I drove my brother everywhere. I took him to a doctor's appointment and he had to schedule a follow-up appointment on 7/24. He wrote down the directions and started driving there, but he got lost and came back to Rolling Hills. Jeanie, the co-manager, found him and helped him to reschedule his appointment for the next day. Rolling Hills made sure that their bus was there and ready for him on the day of his appointment and he felt so good that he didn't have to worry about that anymore.

So far they've been excellent. My mother-in-law requires a little more care than independent living so having Homewell on site has been really useful. She loves the food and the staff has been really helpful. There is still a chance she will need assisted living in the future. Compared to a lot of other things they're quite affordable but they're still not cheap. For the activities, they're always doing cool stuff. They have poetry readings, outings, luaus! We've been really pleased.

We just moved my father there, and it's great. The 2 sets of rotating managers have been very helpful, very accommodating and very wonderful people. Also the residents have been very welcoming and accepting to my father, and that's just what he needed. The facility is top-notch, and while my father's only been there a few weeks the housekeeping and the cleaning services have been great. No trash, no marks on the wall, it's a very well-kept facility. It's advertised as an independent living facility. They were very clear that this is not an assisted living facility but they do regular runs to doctor's offices and grocery stores and they have monthly visits from doctors for blood pressure checks. The activities...I don't really know yet. Dad is not going to do BINGO but they do have a resident who plays the piano and my father sings, so that's really good.

They're absolutely fantastic! One of the things that I noticed right away was how clean and immaculate the place was. My mom, who is quite particular, remarked about how outgoing and comforting the staff is. She's been there for a couple of weeks and she's just fallen in love with the place. She participating in the activities and spending more time outside her room visiting with other tenants and the staff than inside her room. She said the food was good and the grounds are impeccable. I highly recommend Birch Heights!

I just love it, I"m very satisfied. I didn't look at too many more once I saw Hartland Hills. This is way better than the communities I lived in before. They have staff on hand to help with medical needs. They have a very wide range of activities - plenty to keep you busy all day.

Everything is great. The staff is friendly and available, the medical staff is right on top of things. She came from a place that was probably a 1 out of a 5, so the experience at Genesee Gardens is terrific. Jason, one of the Directors, and his wife were wonderful. Matt, who works in the front office, along with Mamie and the nurses stand out. They treat my mother very well, and their costs are comparable to other communities in the area. Medical staff are there within a minute if you ring for them. The doctors, nurses and the Comfort Keepers crew are all on site. They are providing her with so many things to do that my mother says she doesn't have time to sit down to read! She's going to movie nights, church services, remembrance groups.

I would give this place an outstanding rating. My sister-in-law just moved in and my husband and I are considering moving in ourselves! It seems like a very pleasant place to live and it's close to the downtown area of Gig Harbor. I recently had lunch with my sister-in-law and a friend of her's that she's made since being there. We took a nice tour - they were working on the garden and the yard when we were there. The staff is very cordial and willing to help. There are quite a number of activities for the residents to participate in if they're interested but it's not pushy.

We chose The Chateau at Harveston because it just seemed like the best fit for our loved one. The friendliness of the staff and the price of the community, along with everything, really just made the entire package better. I would recommend this community.
