Good food, lots of activities, great studio apt very spacious. Would work with us on getting the bath tub altered so that my mother coud step in. Refrigerator included in the kitchnette. Overall I thought this was the best bang for the buck. The people that worked there were friendly and courteous. The place was so clean and fresh.

food is not as I expected,very poor quality. I find our self eating less in the dining room per weeks,probably three times a week at Best. Which means more expense for us as I have to buy and prepare our food.

This community looked nice and appealing when we visited. The memory care unit is more restricted. This community is a little more expensive than what we were looking for and they have upcharges for different services needed. The first meeting we had with the sales person was pleasant, however they felt a little pushy. The sales person also seemed aggressive after we left.

I was not pleased with the way that I was treated at Traditions. When I spoke with someone on the phone prior to my tour, they told me one thing and when I got there they told me another. It was not what I was looking for.

I just feel that this place is not providing enough help for my dad. They are all very nice and seem to want to help though. We originally came here because we liked the size of the community and how big it was. Dad likes the food and the dining area.

I had a very good tour of this community. The staff was very friendly. The experience was a good one. Everyone was very kind to my family and myself. From what I saw the community looked great, everything was nice, and well-kept. This is a very nice community.

Our family had started looking for assisted living facilities in Mechanicsville which would be close to my sisters for our parents. When mother passed away in 2014 and Dad had remained at home with caregivers, it became apparent that he needed to be cared for in a facility 24x7. After being hospitalized twice that year within 3 weeks time, we had him discharged to Heritage Green where we had reserved a room months before. Since moving him there, he has been well cared for, has not returned to hospital, has done very well and seems to enjoy the activities on the assisted living side of HG. The staff takes very good care of him and I have been very relieved since we moved him there in 2014. It seems to be a good fit and now they are adding to the facilities and will provide new rooms for new residents soon.

It's okay. My one complaint is the lack of communication and follow through, after a return from the hospital. I've been told they don't typically call the family when the resident returns if they were never admitted, but they have been responsive to my request to do so in the future, and communication has otherwise been good. The grounds seem fine, and the interior is okay, but the dining area has been quite dirty at times. I liked that it was a fairly small place, and the activities director coco is a ball of fire, and she really helped make it a good place.

Getting her in was quick. paperwork was lost, she was not in there system for weeks. miscommunication regarding PT/OT and doctors. she went in on a walker and was immediately placed in a wheelchair. you have to be diligent in the follow up. Not the start we had hoped for.

The apartment is very big and has a lot of storage. One housekeeper takes of whole building of about 24 apartments and common areas. Therefore, some weekly cleanings are skipped. We have monthly food and Town Hall meetings where we give our input. The food is not very good or healthy but has improved. Maintenance has a hard job keeping up. We just got a new administrator so hope things get more organized. The elevator has been broken for 6 months so we do not have many activities. Residents on upper and lower floors have to use the stairs to go to meals. The staff are very friendly and do the best they can. I don't know anything about the personal care part of the building.

[Name Removed] was very knowledgable about the facility and elder care in general. The facility was rather dark, narrow halls as compared to other assisted living facilities. It could have been the weather, but it has a musty oder to it as well.

As far as initial placement, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. Taking time to answer questions and give a tour of the facility. Im not sure if it is just our situation and their change of leadership but communication has been a bit lacking. Overall I think they do a great job of caring for the residents.

Our parents have been there for about one year. Some staff is very helpful and kind. Some not so much. The biggest problem is the dining hall. Food is not the best. Been the complaint since day one. Wish they would work on that.

They do not come and watch for my mom to take a shower as much as we were told they would. At best, 2 times a week. They don't have all the activities that they told us they would have for the tenants, or they are not telling my mom about them if they are. And they don't clean the rooms as often as we were told they would. But the food has been good, above average. And my mom seems to like it and is getting adjusted well. Thanks. The greatest disappointment is DVR on the TV is not available. The answer is we can have it with streaming. But what about all the programs we regularly watch. I'm missing a lot of the news because I can't save them. Cant rewind to repeat. What's gone is gone. So much more. It won't be far in the future that I'll be apartment bound. All that I had before is not available. I probably would have chosen Crossroads but feel the manager should have been honest. I told her how important the dvr was. She remained silent.

Overall, the facility is nice, his roommate was very hard to deal with and the food was very processed and institutional so those two things drug it down.

I think the facility needs updates, hvac- it smells musty. However, yes we would recommend Senior Commons at Powder Mill to other families.
