Great Care

I really do not have any areas of improvement to suggest here. We liked this place because it was close to home, and the fact that they offer the right level of care for my loved one's particular needs. It's great that they have a speech therapist, as well as occupational and physical therapists. As for the actvities, they seem well suited for the majority of the residents. Also, the activities director has set up bus trips where the residents can just go out for a ride and enjoy the nice scenery. It's in a great location and there's pretty farm land and fields to look at.

Best experience

We met a wonderful couple at chancellors village, all residents are happy and friendly. Roxanne has gone out her way to make us feel we belong at chancellors village. She is kind, patient, respectful of our situation. We are so thankful she is our advocate through this emotion process. After looking at several places she is one of the reason for us considering chancellors village. Once we workout some final details we will be moving forward.

Warm and Friendly

Chancellor's Village is a cozy, friendly place. The apartments are large and spacious. The staff is professional and kind and the dining room could beat any four star restaurant in the state. I have had the pleasure of working with Roxanne and Lara and I am so impressed with their love for the community and it's residents. My grandparents lived at Chancellor's Village until my grandfather died. "Big Daddy" could be hard to please sometimes but he was very pleased at Chancellor's Village!

Charming

Chancellor's Village is such a charming community. The apartments are large and spacious with open floor plans. The kitchens offer plenty of counter space and cabinets. (which you may not need as you will be looking forward to all of the wonderful meals Paul prepares each day). The staff is professional, warm and friendly. I have had the pleasure of meeting several of the residents at Chancellor's Village and I can tell you first hand, that they love this community and take pride in treating their neighbors as family. Chancellor Village and its wonderful staff are there to help each resident (and future resident) transition into their beautiful community with ease. We are very lucky to have such a great community in the Fredericksburg area!

Outstanding! I'd give them 10 out of 5!

We are so happy that we found this place, Mom absolutely loves it! We were impressed by this place from the moment we walked in. The marketing person we spoke with, Megan Sedlock, was like a ray of sunshine! She was so helpful and so friendly during the whole process. Now that Mom has moved in we almost can't get a hold of her, they keep her so busy with all the activities! This place has a very friendly and social atmosphere, and all of the residents seem happy. The food is also great! We'd definitely recommend taking a look at this place.

Best Senior retirement community in Fredericksburg t

Love Chancellors Villiage! When leaving mom there for two weeks respite care stay while we were away on vacation she loved everything about her stay . The apartments are beautiful and the facility very clean. The dining room offers that " restaurant " feeling when sitting down to linen table cloths , wait staff neatly dressed and offering menu to order off of. The staff are extremely helpful , friendly and amazing especially Lara Lewis who has helped my mom transition as a new Resident! To her and our surprise ! We are very excited for our mom and her new independent lifestyle in her beautiful apartment with screened porch looking out to gorgeous courtyard and grounds . Thanks Chancellors Villiage for her new exciting journey !

Chancellor's Village is fabulous!

The folks at Chancellor's Village are wonderful! It is so stressful moving our senior family members, but they make the move in so seamless. The admin & nursing staff do whatever is needed to help settle in, and facilities' staff make sure everything is "just so." And the residents are fabulous!! They welcome each newcomer with open arms, to make sure they feel at home. The move coordinators make it happen with such ease. Thank you for being such a premier destination for retirement years!

Absolutely phenomenal!

So far this place has been absolutely phenomenal! I'd give them top marks in every category, they've been great. The staff are all friendly and professional, and they give the residents a lot of individual care and attention. During the tour they really take really take the time to make sure all your questions and concerns are answered, and welcome you back to tour any number of times. I really like the layout and set-up of the community for memory care patients specifically. It is very easy to navigate, with no elevator trips involved. I also like that they have many small dining areas that end up being like family units, as opposed to the large single dining rooms that most communities use.

A very nice community

This was one at the top of our list, and very similar to the one we ended up choosing, although this was not as conveniently located for us. This place had a great atmosphere, and felt more like a nice hotel than an "institution". It has both assisted living and memory care, which was good, as it meant the community was more active, and Mom was not quite ready for a memory care only facility.

This was our second choice but a little too far.

They had the alert button on them they had a medical alert necklace type thing if she fell outside of their room even they would know where she was. She would have had to take an elevator for the most part and she didn't think she could do that. They had a refridgerator in the common area with food in there twenty four hours, so if she ever got hungry in the middle of the night she could go down and get food, just little snacks and stuff, sandwiches, beverages. We only toured They were very friendly and gave books to us to let us know what to look forward to with the dementia, because we were dealing with the begining stages of dementia.

Excellent place!

We were impressed by everything we saw here. The staff are great, it's very clean, and the food is good. One of our relatives is an RN and she said that the care they provide here is great, there are much more expensive places that provide much less impressive service. I really have no complaints at all, other than I wish the price was lower, but that just goes with the territory when it comes to senior care.

It's like being in a really nice hotel.

It's very clean, plus every time they turn an apartment over the paint and recarpet, that's what they told me. So it's like my mom moved into a brand new place. They recarpeted too, because they had a carpet that had a little bit of pile to it, and put in one that was a little flatter, because they wanted something a little safer. They bend over backwards. They have two levels of care and she's in the lower level, so she doesn't use a lot of the care services. They have a ton of activies both inside and outside. I'm totally impressed by the place. The food is good, I wouldn't call it great but I would say a four out of five. Compared to the cost of other places when we were looking it's, a four if not a five out of five. The fact that it was so compact, it's all one building so there's no going from building to building or outside. It's like being in a really nice hotel.

Traditions of Hanover makes you feel right at home

The staff and fellow residents at Traditions of Hanover really went out of their way to welcome my mother to their facility. They were especially kind and thoughtful by providing a resident to "mentor" my mom to assist her in acclimating to her new surroundings and schedules. Megan and Jennifer anticipate needs and communicate with all concerned very effectively. They seem to know each resident personally and make everyone feel at ease. Everyone involved makes this place feel like a true, intimate and caring community.

Very accomodating

It was fine, my dad was a little agitated because of the other guests, the way the women acted and things like that. They wanted to really directed him he didn't really have time to adjust but after that he was okay, you just cant tell him what to do. They were very accomodating once in awhile i had to coach them on cleaning his room and I had to remind them to do it a couple of times. I tried when I was there to get him to go and see some of the performances that were up on the balcony but it really depended on his mood. He had a nice sized room, they did provide us with a dresser and very adequate closet space. They did offer to let us bring our own bed but it was a lot easier to just use the ones they had there.

Assisted Living -- With an Independent Lifestyle

Our mother, now 90, has lived at Chancellors Village for 15 years transitioning from independent to assisted living. The staff is first rate, always pleasant, attentive and patient. Daily support (eg. medications, bathing assistance, etc.) is well organized, efficient and very dependable. Assisted living apartments are very clean and well maintained. One bedroom, bathroom, living room (with full size refridgerator, cabinets and sink), and private porch provides comfortable living. Dining room (3 meals per day) allows residents freedom to eat any time during serving hours. Chef and full wait staff is available at every meal. Daily activities are always an option (field trips, movies, hair dresser, exercise, guest speakers and other entertainment). Sunday transportation to religious services and other transportation is available for doctor appointments and shopping during the week. Assist living lobby and entrance (front desk, sitting room, staircase and elevator) is bright, clean, and cheerful. Birds and tropical fish in sitting room an added plus. Overall, management and staff set Chancellor's Village apart from all other facilities.

As Good As It Gets

My mother is there in the memory care center. They're providing a service that we can't get virtually any other way so I think the value is good. The physical therapist came in and they're going to try to get her to move a little bit more. Whether or not they'll be successful, I don't know, but at least they're trying. From what I've seen, it is as good as it gets. She is getting as good of care as she can in her condition.
