My husband made The Birches his home a year and a half ago. It was time filled with kindness and loving care on the part of everyone that touched his life. He truly enjoyed the people, the activities, and good food (especially all things chocolate), and the friendliness he experienced while in Daybreak. Thank you for making his life comfortable and happy at The Birches!

Our family would like to thank you for the love and care you provided to our father for the past several years. He was so happy at The Birches and loved all of the staff so much. He was a "tough old bird", but the twinkle in his eyes an his outgoing personality made him so special to everyone who knew him! We are all so grateful you got to know him, and are equally grateful for the care provided him. He spent the last days of his life exactly where he wanted to be, with people who cared for him.

Thank you for providing a friendly and safe home for our loved one as she faced the end of her life with PSP. The support your team offered - care based rehab based, activities/entertainments all gave our loved one reasons to anticipate tomorrow. We, her family, appreciated being welcome to participate in special activities (i.e. pie tasting, music evenings, etc.) or when visiting from a far - to come and go as we pleased.

My Aunt feels safe at Keystone Villa which is very important to me. The facility is always clean and staff are friendly. The activities director is wonderful.

When we turned out calendars to 2020, who would have ever thought that just 10 weeks later, we would be "locking down" for a pandemic. So many things changed in a matter of days, not the least of which was our inability to see our family members at KVAF. We had to rely on you, the staff, more than ever to watch over our loved ones. You have taken the ball and run with it by creating many ways for your residents to stay engaged and in touch with their families and vice versa during the Pandemic. This meant you had to re-think every aspect of your day to day operations, and you've done an amazing job! Every single one of you has made a commitment, even outside of work, to do all you could to stay healthy in order to be able to continue to crucial work you do. You are to be commended for keeping KVAF virus-free! To each of you, we say thank you. Not just for what you do for [name removed], but for what you do for each of your residents, especially those who may not have someone to advocate on their behalf. Your unfailing commitment to each of your residents is truly a gift.

I like living at KV. Next to home. I feel safe and well looked after.

I have been here for almost 6 years and I love it. Have a family of friends and lots to do. Today I will help husk corn. The staff is terrific and they cannot do enough to help you. I will be your friend.

Hello, I would like to share a little bit about my dad’s coming to the Birches. After a stroke, our family had at home care for our dad. At the time, it was a nice alternative to a nursing home type environment. However, he still understood that everything has a price. Without mentioning specific cost, I can say the Birches was nearly half the amount a month. The key at the time was we were able to take him to his house in the morning and return to the Birches later in the day for a good nights sleep and breakfast in the morning. Everything was nice. I would have heard all about it if wasn’t. That brings me to the people who provided the care. From the front desk to the nurses and onward to the administrators I feel he got excellent care. The one thing that sticks out is that from his early days at the Birches the workers called him by his name. Thanks to all of them for the peace of mind that our family was able to have. Yes, A Perfect Fit!

Making the decision to put a loved one in a home away from your family is such a tough decision. Not knowing how they will be cared for can be terrifying. But Chestnut Knoll made this decision easy. Chestnut Knoll gave my Grandma the best few last years possible. They helped her get healthier than she had been in years. They watched over her, took care of her, and kept her safe, providing care that we were not capable of in our home. They were in constant communication with our family about her well-being up until the night she passed away peacefully in her sleep. We never had to worry about whether she was taken care of. We could sleep at night knowing she was loved as family there. If she had to live a few more years on this earth without my Grampa, at least we know she did it healthy and happy! After she passed, we received heartfelt condolences and tons of hilarious stories from the staff who loved her. We truly felt like she was part of their family and that is more than we can ask of an assisted living home. Side note - throughout the entire COVID pandemic, they remained COVID-FREE! Not one case. They worked so hard to keep everyone inside their walls safe and healthy. It’s an incredible feat and I am so proud of them!

My mom hoped to stay in her own home forever but when she decided it was no longer safe for her to be alone Senior Commons was her first choice. Over the years she had been to most of the other assisted living facilities and always felt this was the best fit for her. So when it was time we were so happy they had space available. Its been about six months now and she has been very happy the whole time even during the pandemic. Everyone has been kind and goes out of their way to be helpful.

The community is always extremely clean. The staff is all very professional and handle everything very well. They do have a lot of activities and I have heard they are good, however my parents don't often participate. Traditions Of Hershey is extremely expensive, however we do think it's comparable to other communities in the area. The director is outstanding and very approachable and is willing offer assistance with anything. They have also had zero cases of the Covid-19 virus.

My sister and I feel extremely fortunate that my mother was accepted into the Chesnut Knoll (CK) Memory Care Facility two years ago. She came into the facility depressed in a wheelchair. She has been in a physical and emotional downward spiral at her previous assisted living facility. Within a few months at CK, she was walking and enthusiastically enjoying the company of residents and staff. I was amazed that her quality of life made such a miraculous improvement. After observing the extraordinary care given to my mother by the staff and management of CK, I came to realize why my mother was happier and more mobile. It was because of the well-thought-out daily routine administered by the caring, conscientious staff who treated her with kindness, compassion, and dignity. The physical therapy is world-class and enabled her to regain mobility quickly. I was impressed with how often my mother was monitored. Everyone closely paid attention to details and proactively addressed and immediately resolved any issues that my mother had. I was always promptly told of my mother's condition and made aware of any issues and the plan to resolve them. If I had any questions, they were immediately answered. I appreciate the passion for caring with kindness that the staff gave to [name removed]. When her health declined and she was approaching death, the staff was quick to arrange hospice which enabled her to die peacefully in her sleep. The quality of life that the staff provided enabled her to have the best single final two years of her life and for that, I am eternally grateful. My thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult times and I wish you safety and good health. May you continue to give joy and good quality of life to others, just as you did for my mother.

In October 2019, my sister and I started searching for a memory care facility for our dear Mother who was suffering from moderate to severe dementia. From the moment we walked into the Chestnut Knoll lobby, we were warmly greeted by an office staff member. We were given a tour of the memory care unit. It was so nicely decorated, was so clean and had a nice fragrance. You could feel the warmth and coziness there. Our Mother has now been a resident for 7 months. In early March 2020, the Executive Staff wisely stopped visitations, and to my knowledge, there has been no Covid-19 resident cases. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I would visit with my mother three times a week, spending several hours with her each time. Every time I was there, I could see how lovingly the staff took care of my mother and all of the other residents. The staff actively talks to the residents and encourages them to join all of the activities. Also, they always keep a close watch on the residents, making sure everyone stays safe, such as when walking or sitting. In addition, they make sure everyone is always accounted for, especially when the roast transitions from the activity room to the dining room and back. Throughout this Covid-19 pandemic, the Executive Staff has been encouraging family members to keep in touch with our loved ones by way of window visits, video chats, phone calls, or emails and greetings cards which I personally read to the residents. This wonderful, excellent, and loving Chestnut Knoll team is an extension of our hands to take care of our dear Mother. May God bless them abundantly for all their hard work to keep our precious family members lovingly cared for and safe. With deep gratitude, [name removed] and [name removed].

Keystone Villa is a beautiful retirement community. It has dedicated and caring staff. The facility is immaculately maintained. There are many activities for the residents to participate in. Management is excellent at listening and acting on any concerns that I have brought to their attention. My mother feels safe and well cared for living at Keystone Villa.

When my mother decided it was time to sell her house we looked at many various options. When we visited Sr. Commons we both felt it would be a great place for her. She really loves it there. The staff are wonderful, courteous and extremely helpful. Mom has made many new friends. We both highly recommend Sr. Commons. It’s a great new home.

We looked for an assisted living facility for our Mom, who needed some extra care now that she is in her 90's. Found Heritage Green in Mechanicsville, and from the very first meeting knew this would be the perfect place. Everyone and I mean everyone has been so nice, so caring and helpful not just to our Mom, but to every resident there. They have many activities, and outings for them, the facility is beautiful, and so clean. The food is delicious, and I like how you can have lunch with your family member. I like that it is not one of those huge places, this is a smaller facility and they can spend more time with each resident, and even have on site PT and OT. Well worth the time to check out Heritage Green, if you are in need of assisted living for your loved one, I don't think you can find a better one in the area.
