The staff is very friendly and kind. The Activities Director is excellent. The chefs/cooks do an excellent job. Activities are very good when they happen, many days there is nothing happening. I had to ask for my moms room to be cleaned - now there isn't a head cleaning person again.

Heritage Monona was an okay place for Mom to be. Nothing fancy or special. I would have liked to have seen more activities available for the independent residents. Also a daily meal was stated on the website but was never given. I do know this was during the latter part of COVID times but...

Our experience after moving in was not the same as during the initial touring process. After moving in, we found that communication between the facility administration is horrible.

What was promised when we were looking and what is reality are far apart and somewhat disappointing but at this time we feel it is better to try and work with Heritage on improving rather than looking to go elsewhere which we feel would be more detrimental to my mother's well being. Lack of a consistent leader appears to be the main issue. Has been a lot of management turnover in the 3+ months we've been there. If that settles down they may be able to make some progress.

The staff was nice when I toured this community. Wasn’t a fan of the in wall heating and air conditioning, the room felt too much like a hotel room.

Our loved one thinks the meals are generally good but sometimes the dining service is slow so the meals aren't delivered on time and occasionally can be cold. We do think the value is over priced and right now they are understaffed which we are sure is out of their control

The physical setting and our loved ones room is absolutely gorgeous, it could not be nicer and it just feels like home to her. However they could use some improvements overall - they run out of supplies often, there are some excellent care givers and others not to much. We were also promised certain things that just have not really worked out very well. The physical therapy person has been absolutely phenomenal and really has made progress with our loved one. Also we feel that they would really benefit if they had a bus transportation system.

Our family had an in person tour and one thing that put Aspire Senior Living on our no list, is due to our loved ones condition she needed assistance walking and the doors at the community are fairly heavy and close incredibly to fast. We were told due to fire regulations the doors could not be propped open with a door stop and we did not wan tour loved one struggling to open the door and get out of the way before it closed on her.

Nice, clean facility. It is on the small side. Staff are helpful. Cost is higher than others we have seen.

The community was fairly new. The expectations that we were told would happen, didn't meet our expectations. The staff turnover was significant during my loved one's stay. Anytime we tried to speak to the administration team about my loved one's care, they made it seem it was two different things. The head nurse didn't help us at all during the time my loved one was there.

Don't go there. They promised things that were not delivered. The food was terrible. They do not have fresh food. They were not able to handle her level of care. They have a lot of small studios. I put her there so she could spend down to Medicaid and when the time came they did not have any openings. It is not well run. The staff is not caring. When I asked questions they act like you are bothering them.

Heritage has been a good place for my mother. It’s clean, food is great, activities they offer keep my mom busy, staff is very nice to her. We love that she has church to attend on Friday’s and she can get her hair done right on site. However the communication between staff members can improve regarding my moms daily care. Very simple ADL care that should be done everyday for my mom that consistently gets overlooked. This is care that my mother pays for. It could be due to staff shortage as I understand Heritage is going through some changes. I will say [name removed] does follow through on return phone calls. We call him when other administrators or the nurse doesn’t return our calls. Kudos to [name removed]. We have addressed the issues via conference call. I am looking forward to the improved communication and attentiveness to my mothers ADL’s.

I have had a parent at HERITAGE-Elm Grove for the past 1-1/2 yrs. The first 2 months were the best and it has definitely gone downhill since then. Apartment cleaning and Laundry are suppose to be done every week. It is once every 2-3 weeks. Most food is left on the residents plates and not eaten. Only a couple meals a week are appetizing. Keep hearing a new chef was hired but food hasn't gotten any better. Portions have gotten alot smaller. Activities/Outings have become less.A new Director started a year ago with alot of promises, but have not noticed any improvements. Just changed some decor on the walls. They go thru alot of Directors and employees for only being open a few years. Always short staffed. The building (foyer & hallways) itself are beautiful, nice, attractive and always seem to be clean but maybe they need to pay their workers a higher salary so they enjoy their jobs and don't leave.

Everyone was personable but it seemed forced, it seemed dark.

I visited with my dad April 15. My dad wasn't to excited to be there. I did not ask all the questions that I had asked facilities afterwards. We had visited mostly assisted living. They had us do a lot of walking and my 88 year old dad got tired. By the time we looked at memory care he was too tired to go on.
