Heritage Senior Living

Though Heritage most likely provides great care it was a little too low key for what we are looking for.

In finding the perfect place for my Aunt, this facility is perfect. Having her room on second floor where both dining and activities are held is the perfect solution to minimize confusion in the transition. Also The Heritage is decorated warm and inviting, feels homey. The staff the works on the floor are friendly and fun. However, they are lacking in activities and communication. I am trying to encourage activities that would engage these citizens in meaningful rewarding projects. They have lost many things moving to these facilities, many still have much to give and life to enjoy.

I just think that they are understaffed and I know that they are new and getting up and running but there's not been great communication with the families. We're always kind of wondering if she's being looked after when she should be. It has gotten a lot better since she's been there but in the beginning that was concern. I think it's a nice facility. I think the people there, both the staff and the other residents, are very friendly. They do provide some nice activities for them to do so that's all good.

It's very nice - much bigger though and less homey feeling. I think it's just too big and I didn't get the warm fuzzies from the director, the person that gave me the tour, so that made a difference for me too. I asked to see it twice and I didn't feel like she wanted to give me another tour. It was like hurry up and make your decision kind of thing.

CNA staff trained in Alz care, RN full time business hrs on call weekends not able to handle any med care on site courtyard 25 spaces didn't tell me much about what they have now-just plans for near future as management is changing over summer and they will be adding stuff but don't know when 1/6-8 ratio, RN has phone contact with nearby clinic/Dr pressure alarms on chair and bed direct to staff VS loud beep eye-to-eye check every two hours min which she was proud of activities $4,300-4,700/mo 4 care levels-add $2,000 for each level needed up to 100hrs ????

I did tour this place and it's beautiful and I do know some people who have loved ones here but I have some concerns because we know of one person who had to remove her mother from here because of some sort of incident. I also believe that the contact person was not completely honest with me regarding my questions about the incident and was only concerned with getting a name. I would have rather heard her side of the story. I also don't think she was completely honest with me about the staff smoking situation. I expressed concerns about smoking and she did not divulge to me that she is a smoker and but led me to believe that she did not like the smoking either. I was told (granted it is here-say) by the same family that removed their mom that if you needed to find the staff just to look in the smoking area.

This is not our first time in respite care. The location was convenient for our family, but I would not take him back there again. Response to call button was not timely. They were understaffed, and the quality and experience of the staff was often lacking. Lack of communication or miscommunication was another issue that was quite frustrating.

The facility is new so very lovely. The food is adequate. With so many different diets and health issues to consider I am aware that meals can't be restaurant taste. I am disappoint in the lack of knowledgeable care in the assisted living area. My friend has lived there for nine months and there is only one person including administration that I know of who is still working there. The turnover is frequent although that maybe typical of assisted and nursing care jobs. My friend was just moved to the memory care unit so maybe there is better healthcare there.

Recently they have let some good front-line people become disillusioned and leave, while adding more layers of administrators. Loss of a full-time nurse was a bad sign. Basically a race to the bottom line, like most other AL facilities.

It's just one tall building with a lot of empty space around it, just care grass, but it is newer and I've heard that a lot of people are moving here from other places because it is newer. But we didn't like that there was nothing around it and was bare.

Staff is always short and has attitudes. Nursing never stays. The food is horrible and when management says they are going to take care of something they dont. They dont have a bus to take residents anywhere, activities are always the same. Unfortunately we are looking for new places because we cannot take much more.

Took too long to respond. Care was lacking. Took 6 weeks for a refund but gave only a few days when they wanted more money. Not a good experience. Has me questioning if I want to use A Place for Mom in the future.

My elderly parents moved into Heritage Assisted Living in Middleton a few months ago. I don’t normally write negative reviews, preferring to give feedback privately but in this case I feel obligated to share their extremely negative experience. The place is poorly run with indifferent staff. Food is bad. There were billing discrepancies as well. We have chosen to move them to a different facility because they did not feel safe. We have reported some of the problems my parents encountered to higher authorities. Beware!

I will never have anyone go to Lincoln village for as long as I live! There is no staff there to take care off people! My father passed away there before we could move him to another facility! My sisters have slept in his room because he declined and no one ever came to check on him! We had to pay for extra care when entering Lincoln village and there was no care! They took there check and let him be! He wasn't even there 2 days and he fell and hit his head! He had fallen a couple times there and no staff ever reported or called his family! It is a very bad place!

If someone going in to assisted living needs anything out of the ordinary because of a disability, such as a bidet, schedule requirements, etc, make sure you ask questions. Some is related to differences between assisted living which we can deal with independent living which we can deal with, but some is the facility rules. Make sure food sensitivity issues can be addressed as well. We were told they could be then, in the end, cannot be.
