My mom has been at Cottonwood for three weeks. The director, Kyle was right it took about two weeks and she was in the swing of things, playing cards with new friends, just hanging out and socializing. Its so nice to know my mom is at a place where she comfortable. She has decided to stay. Thanks to Cottonwood especially to Kyle Beck.

My parents moved into Sterling Heights three months ago. I have visited often and find Sterling Heights a superior retirement community for independent seniors in the 70+ years age range. A luxury residential hotel is a good way to describe the facility. Three meals are table served in a lovely dining room. The food is very good and there are multiple choices available at each meal. Making the correct choices, a resident on a low sodium diet can eat well. I know that because my mother, for health reasons, must follow a low sodium diet. There is a wide range of studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartment options. All have large windows for a lot of light, security pulls in each room, good closet space and each has either a patio or balcony. Housekeeping is provided at no additional cost. There is a nice selection of social activities available throughout the day and evening, including movies shown in a real movie theater. Transportation is provided daily for shopping and doctor appointments. Management is interesting. The managers are husband/wife teams that reside in the facility. They are hands on, very available and very caring and concerned for the welfare of the residents. When the time comes to make a down sizing decision with loved ones, be sure Sterling Heights is on your list of facilities to be visited.

Staff has been super in helping my father with the move in. The place is always clean and food is very good.

Very nice place. Do wish they had a vehicle to carry those who are wheelchair bound. My mom seems to like it there!

There are some people here that appear to need assistance living. Overall though it nice to be able to have a place that is clean and enjoyable and safe.

I went with my Mother to visit several independent and assisted living facilities and then made a second trip back to her three favorites. The Carriage House won hands down. The facility was very clean, offered 3 meals, had a lot of activities to offer plus transportation to the doctors, shopping and outings and had the friendliest people. I helped my Mom move in and ate there numerous meals and spoke with the residence and not one resident had anything bad to say about the facility. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. She has only been there a few weeks but loves her new place and the new friends she has met. I live far away so this is a great comfort to me.

It took only one look to know this is where my Mom belonged. It took her less time to make up her mind to move at 88 years old . The staff that runs Cariage House is the best I have seen in this field. They when above and beyond what was needed to help move her within a week. I rest better knowing she is now happy, safe and healthy in this new environment .

Pioneer Ridge is delightful. The people who run it are wonderful with the residence. Everything is always so clean. Residence feel that moving there has changed their life, for the better!

Excellent facility for retirement living! The friendliness of both employees and residents became very obvious from the first day. Wonderful activities and medical/personal transportation provided for residents.

The staff at the Carriage House could not have been nicer. They were very helpful and went out of their way to make my parents feel at home. We would highly suggest that anyone that is looking for an independent living community, put The Carriage House on the top of your list.

For years my mother wanted to be in 'senior housing' in Massachusetts. Having sold her home in Florida we investigated several options on the North Shore, and even tried public Sr. housing. With her memory starting to fail, her joints beginning to feel their age, we were looking for a facility that incorporated community and activities while encouraging an independent lifestyle. With 3 meals a day, house cleaning, activities, outings - even a movie theater & hair salon - Colonial Gardens has offered a solution that provides all of that and so much more. I no longer worry about my mother being isolated and alone, nor keeping up with snow removal. She can retreat into her own gorgeous apartment when she wants to be on her own, but I often find her happily sitting in the beautiful lobby reading the newspaper in the sunny open space. We are so happy to have made this change. I am relieved to know that she has people around her, that she doesn't have to cook & clean any more and that she can slowly get involved in Colonial Garden's activities at her own pace.

I was prepared for the worst, after all, Mother had lived alone for over 23 years, and she was one to stand her ground (very firmly) if she didn't want to do something! As we toured the beautiful Steeplechase community, my husband and I pointed out things to Mother we hoped would help open her view to "this could be home." With all the amenities and activities Steeplechase had to offer, we were happy she was open to all of it, and not displaying a rejective attitude. We also noted the residents....they wore bright beautiful smiles as they greeted us, or even as they sat and visited with each other. It was evident this is indeed a HAPPY PLACE. Mother selected a beautiful apartment, and the day she moved in, 3 people came by to 'Welcome her Home.' Once again I was reassured we had made a good choice, and for Mom, it was the beginning of new friendships. One would expect the staff to be curtious and pleasant, especially if you are new to the house. Well let me say....its been a month, and I have nothing but the HIGHEST respect and praise for this entire staff team! If there was a need or request, the management team did everything possible to assure this felt like 'home' for Mom....and stated their goal..."we want her to be happy." The Managers also live at Steeplechase, so the residents become "family" to them, and this was another security layer for me, knowing Mother was in their care. I observed the many requests made by residents during mealtime, and noted how they were handled by the dining staff....again, I was impressed! When you talk to the residents, and they have nothing but good things to say about the 'entire' Steeplechase Staff...that carries a lot of weight in my book. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and loving attitude to the "family" of residents. This move was covered with much prayer, and totally directed by Gods design. I never dreamed a move and relocation for Mom could go so smoothly. What a "Blessing" Steeplechase is for our family. Our only regret, we should have done this 10 years ago. Thank you 'A Place for Mom', for being instrumental in leading us to Steeplechase, and for seeing us through this difficult decision process. The personnel were extremely helpful and polite. I found the facility to be well maintained and the amenities are top notch. The company will work with residents for the resident's comfort and afordability. The food is very tasteful and well prepared with generous portions. The residents are friendly and courtious. We were offered a plan to reserve an apartment at an affordable price until we can move in. The ability to travel to another city where there is another facility within the group at no extra charge is very attractive for my wife and I as we still wish to travel some and have aready identified a couple of places to visit.

My husband and I have been at Bella Vista for six weeks and cannot say how happy we are that we choose to live our last years here. We are in our early ninetys and are so pleased with the attention our resident Managers have given us. I like the setup at meals where there are tables set for 4 residents, there fore we can move around to meet other people living here. We are impressed with activities available, quite a varity every day. Who could be bored or lonely? Now that we are settled in, I'm looking forward to partitating in all they have to offer. I'm happy to recommend. Bella Vista to all who want to spend their latter years in a beautiful setting like Asheville, N.C.

My experience with Stone Lodge had been pretty good. The people are really nice, along with the place itself. The pricing is much better than others I checked into.

I've had a very good experience with The Woods at Holly Tree. The facility is very nice. I'm pleased with the cleanliness of the place, and the friendliness of staff there. They provide good care. The food is pretty good. The service with the food could be better in my mother's opinion (the way the servers serve).

Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. My mother is extremely happy. She loves the food and the amenities.

Things have gone very well so far at Stone Lodge! They've done a great job welcoming my loved ones to the community, and introducing them to all of the different services and amenities they provide. They've also been impressed by the chef here, the meals and service are much better than the community they'd been in previously!

Overall we're very pleased with how things are going with Parkrose Chateau! It's a lovely looking community, and the staff are all very friendly. They provide all sorts of great amenities, services, and activities, and my loved one seems to be settling in well! We're happy with it, and would recommend it to others!
