If I were interested in senior living, I would sign up immediately! I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel, everything about this facility is fabulous. Although there are no medical staff residing there, the managers all live on the property and there are options available to hire if necessary. I do not think this would be the best choice for someone who needed a lot of medical attention but for someone who needs senior living this would be the place.

We chose Colonial Harbor because it was a very good price; the staff was very organized, helpful and friendly. The do offer 3 meals a day, which all have been really good with the exception of the Crab Cakes my loved one didn’t think they were up to par. They offer a big variety of activities, in fact there is more activities that she cares to participate in. It is located on a parcel of land in Yorktown adjacent to a McDonalds but the property is surround with trees so although it is in a very convenient location it still provides a country feel. We are very happy with our choice and would highly recommend Colonial Harbor to anyone.

I chose this community because it is very close to my family; they accept pets, 3 meals a day, and provide transportation. The food was actually surprisingly good, expected it to be like institutional food but it was not. There food is very well cooked and full of flavor. They have a menu board that shows what is being served, they always offer an alternate meal if you do not wish to eat the primary. I would not have wanted to move in somewhere that I could not have my dog of over 8 years, we are both very happy here. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. I am very satisfied and would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

It’s been a really good experience. The management and the people are friendly. The apartments are big and spacious with a beautiful view, and the outdoor commons is very nice.

Independent living only. Facility is one year old and immaculate. Location in Summerville is very woodsy and there is a horsefarm that butts rightup to the property. Two ponds for fishing and landscaping is outstanding. Three story facility with elevators. Average age of residents is 80. There is a Wall of Honor for the VETS living there with their pics and ranks. The oldest Vet is 97. The management lives on the premises and there is a masseuse and rehab center there also along with barber shop. They have an awesome mini theater with huge screen. Rent includes electric, water, internet...basically everything but phone. The rooms are cleaned by staff once a week and and linens changed including towels. Dad would only be responsible to wash his own clothes. Many residents have in room healthcare help from outside providers. Also he can stay at any of their facilties in the states for free if he were to travel and meals are also included. Transportation anywhere in town is also provided. There is a very nice library with two fireplaces and a computer room if there goes on the fritz. Three meals a day and snack are available 24/7. There is an ice cream machine too! Rooms are awesome and maintnenace is included in rent. Maintenance will even make modifications to the rooms if needed free of charge. There are many different floor plans with varying footage. A beautiful, one year old facility with residents from all over the country. Located in an old historic community.

We were looking for a facility that was large enough where we could meet a lot of people. Camden Springs has a lot to offer it's residents, there is an excersize room, library, theater, really anything you could want. They also welcome suggestions from residents as far as amenities they offer.

Very interested but a bit above the $ amount I want to spend. At this point it would be the place I would pick, although I do have a few others to check out.

We looked at other places but chose The Rio Grande because it was the best and the nicest. It's new, clean, and the people there are very friendly.

Once Mom decided she "might" want to move to Asheville to be closer to us (from South Florida), my husband and I started looking. We contacted A Place for Mom and talked with them about what we thought Mom would like. Bella Vista, among others, was on the list. We looked at two other facilities first; however those were for someone needing more assistance than Mom required. She wanted her own apartment, not just a "room with bath." We went to see and tour Bella Vista and that was that. It was described as a "cruise ship without the water" and that's really close to what it is. It offers one and two bedroom apartments, as well as a studio type, with different floor plans of each. They offered to have mom come up for a week to experience life there, and that's exactly what we did. It was Mother's Day week in 2012. They put her in a lovely apartment, even getting her a special commode seat like she has at home! She met lots of people, even made some friends in that short time. She was sold! She selected a one bedroom apartment with the same floor plan as she was in for her visit (there were only two like that) and the rest is history! We moved her in two months later. She seems very happy here, her life is much simplified. Bella Vista provides 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, and, additionally, they work hard to acknowledge all holidays and special days with special meals and buffets for the residents and their families. They offer lots of different activities, including exercise programs and "day trips" for the residents. The staff goes above and beyond to help all residents and accommodate specials needs and familial concerns. We couldn't be happier that Mom has settled in so well, and that we are able to be close enough to share during this time of her life.

We really liked this facillity, clean, friendly, Lots of people. Lots to do. No nursing services but availability for outside help to come in. Phone and Cable excluded. VERY NICE

Beautiful grounds, well maintained, nice area but still in development. Although I was a bit early on purpose, director was not either prepared for the visit. Very much like my benchmark, the Vintage in Lodi, actually the same architects! Gorgeous community areas including the computer and movie areas. Director was more than amenable to giving us "a deal".

The most beautiful! Huge 2 bdrm 2 bath apt. with balcony and delicious food. Lots of extras.

The Bella Vista visit was wonderful! I met with the Director and we talked a while then toured the brand new facility. Beautiful!! Clean, cheerful and lacking nothing. He showed me three excellent appartments that would more than meet Mom's needs. We had a very nice dinner with two of the residents, who gladly shared their Bella Vista experiences with me and answered many questions. Delightful! The staff at Bella Vista was well trained, cheerful, and friendly. The residents were all happy (not a grump in site!), clearly a testament to excellent living conditions and staff interaction. Good choice!

Wecoming, open, bright, friendly. Largest room was nice but ? a bit small for desires. Biggest negative is no full kitchen....

This is a beautiful home for seniors that do not require any assistance. The Managers were caring and professional and extremely helpful.

This is also a beautiful facility, but has less to offer for the needs that we are currently looking for. With no medical technicians or medicine technicians.
