We looked at Holly Tree. It was very nice. It just too fancy for my dad though. They had all kinds of activities there. They had a pool table, bingo, they just had a big list of everything the offered.

Very accommodating to us. The facility had many perks and options, including guest rooms. Variety of room choices and price ranges. Also, an opportunity for a trial stay was a nice idea. New facility with friendly atmosphere that my mother liked. Long hallways in general layout. This could be a possible match.

My dad likes it a lot, I'm still concerned that it doesn't meet his needs, but he loves it. I think he requires more care and he's had to go to the hospital a couple of times, he has a lot of things going on so hospital visits are going to happen. From what I've heard, they've handled it well and he has someone who comes in 3 days a week to help him with laundry and hygiene. I did see some posted activities and i did encourage him to get involved, but he's kind of a loner. They're very friendly, they have told dad "anything you need," they have pull cords in the rooms so if dad needed something he could call them but there's a limited amount of things they do. That's what he wwanted, so that's what he got, he was really anti-nursing home and as far as the level of care he required he would need to be in a nursing home but it seems like its a good fit. They provide 3 meals a day so he doesn't have to worry about cooking, they're nice meals, the place is very nice, it's like walking into a very nice hotel.

I have a friend who's there, he's liking it, he thinks he's adjusted well, he seems like he's happy there. I visit occassionally, not too often, I went inside once during dinner time and everyone was seated around the tables. I thought it looked like a nice community of elderly people who seemed to be happy. He likes it when they take him to Walmart and I think he went somewhere else too, maybe a fair or something. To me, he seems to be very happy there.

They've been great, I have no complaints. They're working on getting some situations set up, they have a problem with their cook that my mother in law wasn't too happy about but they're working to fix it. They're awesome, the cleanliness, the staff, they're great, we could not be happier.

I visited this property a few weeks ago. My father is already a resident. I live in RI and had to find a place for father in Florida. It was an emergency situation when mold was found in his current residence and I had to find a place quickly. I went to AARP (I saw their ad for Long term care.) Their site referred me to a place for mom. I filled out the contact info and had a return phone call almost immediately. Referenced 6 places, I spoke to someone at each one and felt Salishan was where he would be comfortable as he is still inependent but needs some schedule to stick to for meals and meds. Hired a medical team to make sure he takes his meds. Fee is not bad and place is very clean. Nice people run it and Dad is happy there.

The staff is really genuine, I can tell when someone is being fake and no matter when I come in, morning or night they're all genuinely friendly and their marketing director, she is gold at the end of the rainbow. One of the thigns I really like is in the mornings, to kind of see how the residents are doing, the live in managers, even the marketing people, are in there pouring the residents coffee and you really get a taste of what a place is really like when you go down with your mom and see what they experience. My mom has pulled the cord and it was like in the brochure, the live in manager did a report, she was very nice, very calm and empathetic to my mom. She said my mom was getting afraid at night and God has blessed us to lead a girl who was already on site to my mom and we found the perfect person for her. We have things in place now that is working beautiful, they are just exceptional to all the places I saw in Richmond.

It's going real well, they call us with anything that happens or goes on and they always look after my grandma. She love it there, she calls it Hollywood and she's participating in activities, loves bingo.

Mother moved in almost 2 months ago and loves it. The food is excellent and her apartment is just right for her (1 bedroom). She is enjoying the company of neighbors and likes that everyone is friendly. Lots of smiles. It offers just what Mother needs.

really nice place my dad needs more help then he can afford his mentality is going back down again great food great people who have been helpful .

It's been an easy experience.

My mom's only been there 3 months so I really haven't formed any opinions on way they could improve. We've had no problems so far. For us, the proximity is good. She definitely enjoys the prepared meals, especially the desserts. Their staff is friendly and their other residents are nice. She enjoys them too.

I'm moving there. It was a very calm place. I have a lot of pain in my shoulder and I discovered it was from stress. There is a woman at the place I'm living now that is creating stress I don't need so I'm moving. Salmon Creek is going to do a lot to help me move in. I think the management is more in control there. It's a much higher quality of management at Salmon Creek. They've gone out of their way to try to help me. I feel it's going to be a lot better for me.

I moved my mother from Oklahoma in July, 2013 from a decent assisted living center to Liberty Heights. The surroundings and the staff have made a significant impact on my mother's health and outlook on life. She loves the library, the chapel, the great food, and the general atmosphere. I cannot think of a better place that I would want my mother to spend her retirement years. I did research other locations and, for me, there is nothing that compares to this facility in the DFW area.

Loved it!! Trying to think of a way Mom can afford it. I just know she would love it if she would be willing to give it a chance. However...the price is too high per month. Gotta pray about how we can afford it!

I'm over here and I'm satisfied. My room is perfectly clean and every week they're cleaning something! They're very friendly. All these places are costly so how do you compare? Compared to some of the others this is a little less. This is not assisted living. The meals are pretty good but I don't get up on a daily basis to go up and get them. I usually use my microwave and have something in my room. I don't participate in a lot of the activites because some of the medical issues I have prevent me. I do simple ones where I can sit down. They have a beautiful walk around this place. It's very scenic.

I think they're awfully expensive like they all are but I think it's a good value for what you get. I'm not too familiar with all their acitivities but I know they have a movie night, bingo night, a spa day and they go on frield trips to museums and things like that. My dad talks about those. They're good because they have other locations around the country that my parents could go stay at for free. There is one up closer to me that they're going to stay at for a week so they can visit us. They let me stay there for free in a guest room. I really like that feature and the people have been really nice.

It's independent living so the care services are not applicable. The food is pretty good - I'd give it a 4. They have arts and crafts, book club, bible study, excursions...those are all the things that I know my grandma has done. She likes it there. She's happy with all of it.

They're fantastic! The cleanliness and overall appearance really made them stand out. We toured with the manager and he was very easygoing and friendly. They're doing a fantastic job for the money. They have a 24/7 care service staff but they do have Med-Alert necklaces that they give all the residents. The activities? Oh, my goodness - my father's doing things that he'd never have done before if we had kept him at home. He helps care for the rose garden and they have yoga classes and movie nights as well.

We chose Carolina Estates because of the apartment, suitable activities offered to residents, friendliness of the staff, and their interest in making sure my loved one was happy there. The whole experience has been great, it was the easiest thing I have ever done. I went online on a Sunday night and found A Place For Mom and filled out their helpful questionnaire. The next morning an APFM rep, Caitlyn, contacted me. She was really easy to work with, the information was excellent, she even sent me her picture which I was really impressed with. I thought my loved one needed assisted living, I didn't even know there was such a thing as independent living. Carolina Estates was the first to contact us, when we toured we were very impressed. They invited us back for supper and my family was sold on the place, this has been the best move for my loved one. (Did not use Care Services, so cannot rate at this time.)
