The whole facility is run down and constant shift of staff.

Good price. You get the basics. They have a history of high overturn that they're currently "working on". What was most important to us was proximity to us. 3-5 minutes But all utilities are included, backup generator and people are "around". Our loved one really likes her apt which is a newer one. But once you step out her door, kind of a time warp. But clean.

Utility rooms nasty, smoking throughput the building, meal schedule rigid & food quality not consistent, activity about 4 year old level on the plus side beautiful grounds, management has been replaced since I left. if they would eliminate smoking, improve utility room, improve activities and overhaul meal plan I would consider going back

Maple ridge could be a nice place but as it is now it's disgraceful. [name removed] the district manager fires and fire at his own whim. The food is horrendous. The staff is in constant flux. Anyone can live their regard of their mental stability. Good luck.

My relatives are looking to move as they are not happy at this facility. Onsite manager is friendly initially then not so much. They do not have desire or ability to accommodate a modified diet (ANY modification), facility is mainly older folks who need care assistance, they have trouble keeping activity directors and bus drivers (reference comment and rating of onsite manager).

After 5-months' residency there are few complaints I can render. However, there is a significant one that looms above the others. During times of illness residents find themselves limited to only 3 free meals per year unless they can show they are definitely ill; (after that they pay $5/meal) this has become an ambience of distrust between the staff and residents.. Personally, I have not used the cafeteria all that much because of such situations as 2 out of 3 grilled cheese sandwiches were rancid tasting from not cleaning the overly cooked oils off the grill. Back to those residents who are ill, they should feel free to receive their meals that they are already paying for and they do not wish to contaminate the cafeteria with their germs. For many of us, anyway,we are paying for meals but not eating them. There is definitely an imbalance in this matter. Otherwise, overall, friendly faces and freely giving of help has been awesome.

Population older w significant mobility and mind issues. Trips and outings limited. Food selection basic and repetitive. Suited needs for the time. My father has since passed away and my mother is at [community name removed] and much happier. Would recommend for individuals looking for a stable community w limited external activities. Going through renovations when we left. Positive

I think it's an overall great value. My brother liked it the best.

Aside from the senior managers having issues the rest of the staff is generally good. Assistant managers are great, kitchen and cleaning staff is very nice. 5 stars there. Cleanliness is great, maintenance is good, 5 stars there. Nice property.

We needed to move [name removed] from independent care to the assisted living side a few months after arrival. The staff was very helpful with this process. Communication to us about falls or other concerning events has been inconsistent.

Hire more help. People that clean the toilets and the floors are also serving our males. That is not safe. They also need to clean the carpets in the hallways and vacuum every day. Because there is a lot of debris and stains on the carpet. The activities are extremely limited and based on those with memory loss when there are more of us. Who have all our marbles and would like to do other things that require our intelligence? I am furious. This place is a dump. The sheriffs are here every day. Because there is a resident that is disruptive. How in the heck did she get in here? It is ridiculous i'm looking elsewhere

Overall, the staff here are very caring and personable and know everyone by name. The residents are very friendly and welcoming. The price is competitive for the services provided. I would only recommend StoneRidge if your loved one is fully mobile. The wrap around care was not a fit for us. Unfortunately my loved passed away shortly after moving in due to a medical emergency and I am still going back and forth with management to have the fees returned per the contract allowances. I hope to have it resolved but am still waiting and it's been 4 months.

Shads Landing claims to be a smoke free facility. However, we have complained multiple times to the facility and district manager about the cigarette smoke in my parent’s hallway. One resident blatantly disregards the no indoor smoking rule- the hallway reeks of cigarette smoke. We have been complaining for 7 months and the issue continues. Poor management of a chronic problem. Rules are not enforced.

I don't have much to say about any staff, but the biggest issue with the faculty is that for the past 8 months, the food has been terrible. My grandma has been complaining about it every day because she gets burnt or uncooked food. With the price of renting a room, the food should be very good, or the price should be reduced.

The location of El Dorado Estates is really wonderful. It's is situated in a valley away from traffic noise. Beautify landscaped. A sidewalk for walking goes all around the building. Very peaceful. Next Spring the facility will have a redo to spruce up the place.

For the overall experience -if I filled this out the first month, I would probably have gone higher. For the past 2 months, my mom has had no reliable internet. Speaking with the managers has led to more frustration. They promise to look into it, then try to fix it and still not up and running. Even today, the managers claimed they thought it was fixed, but no one has ever asked my mom if it has been fixed. We are in the process of looking into paying for internet on our own for her. This should not happen for the amount of money and that it is supposed to be included. My mom uses her computer every day. Also, there should be more thought in getting new residents to meet existing residents. My mom was shunned a lot her first month by people not allowing her to sit at a table for a meal, telling her she was sitting at their table, etc. I don't really think this is applicable since it is not a continuing care community. The managers claim you can always get certain foods that are not listed on the menu, but the wait staff does not seem to realize this and say you can not have something that is not listed on the menu. There should be more than just sandwiches available for the dinner time meal. Not everyone eats at the lunch meal; it might be nice if both the lunch and dinner choices were available at both times. While my mom may not feel this way, overall, I do feel that there is a lot being offered for the price. I realize you can not please everyone, but there seem to be basic issues that need to be addressed.

Caring local managers. Kitchen is a challenge, house keeping is a challenge; Needs nutritionist; too many scooters creates hazardous conditions to name few. Overall, would still recommend Cypress Springs with these caveats.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Carriage House and the overall experience has been okay. The cleanliness of the facility and the value for cost are great. The staff and care services are okay, due to staff turnover. The meals are okay, however, the cleanliness is low for food prep. The activities are good.

I would never recommend Stone Lodge to others. Their food is horrible and very low quality. I set up a little kitchen in my apartment and cooked my own food. The housekeeping is slim to none. They are only allowed 10 minutes per room. It is supposed to be a retirement facility, but has turned into more or less an assisted living facility but without the assistance. So many people live there that should be in assisted living, but can't afford it. I still have friends there who complain about the care constantly. They are being rushed through their dinners and not getting a chance to finish one course (soup)before their bowls are being picked up. Same with the dinner course. I tried to call the state to see if something could be done about it or to have an inspection done, especially in the kitchen. But I didn't get anywhere because it is a retirement home not assisted living and they don't do them on retirement homes. People move out of there within months of moving in due to the food and they just had a significant price increase, however, nothing changed as far as the quality.

Be sure to negotiate with them. I found out others got a much better deal than we did and better upgrades on their units. If the quality of the meals are important you may want to cook for yourself. The main reason we picked here is that our unit is a cottage with a fenced yard for our two dogs. The space is good it's a three bedroom with a garage.
