It was lovely but an older facility. They had a shared washing machine and dryer, and the air conditioner was in the wall.

The food was not appealing. The rooms were a good size but it was not a good fit for my loved one.

I toured this community and it was ok. It was a little dated and for the price it didn't seem to stand out.

I did not like the rooms or the location but it was a nice environment.

We toured with Linwood Estates and it was a nice place but was not going to fit my loved ones needs. They did not offer 3 meals a day, 5 days a week which is something we were looking for. They also did not offer a free gym membership which was an amenity we wanted.

Very interested in how the showers are handicapped friendly

Apts not cleaned between residents. Food is mediocre, small in quantity, and heavy on carbs. Management very laisse fair. The activities are geared to the lowest cognitive denominator. Poor communication.

It seemed dated. The staff were really nice.

My loved one, is not happy with the food because the portions are small and it's very bland. The staff is friendly. It's a very nice apartment, which is set up very well. She's starting to make friends. Overall, it is kind of expensive.

They did not have care services that mom needed.

Williams Place is strictly independent living. Some independent living facilities have medical staff on site, but that is not the case here so it is more like senior apartments. If your loved one has a medical emergency, they have to call the ambulance and take them to the ER. The manager does live on site. The residents here seemed "cliquey".

The reason I did not choose Carolina Estates was because the apartments do not have full kitchens and I like to cook. There is also no washer and dryer in the units, you have to walk down the hall to do all of your laundry and that would have been difficult for me.

having no experience to compare this experience with it is difficult to offer a valid review. a recent change from ownership Holiday to Hawthorn, has been negative in these ways - food less delicious, even though previous owner wasn't great - less activities, less dependable staffing (less staff) - too much time taking up with meal service. no more sessions to discuss our opinions - especially regarding food, etc and programs. in my 82 years (including college) I have never eaten so much poor food/meals

I am disappointed with this community. There is a lot of room for improvement the corporate staff are open to hearing complaints and in the process of trying to make improvements however, it has been several weeks later and we are still waiting to see improvement. The food has been terrible and the activities are very limited at this community. Overall we are disappointed with the care that we are receiving. We are keeping our options open as new senior living communities open up.

My Mother was there for [date removed]. Seen numerous Managers come and go. Few months back, Sterling Heights had a set of Managers, [name removed] and [name removed] , who were absolutely amazing! They were there for the Residents. Ran the community great and had the respect of all residents and family. Hawthorn needs to bring them back to get this back running to where it should be. [name removed] was one that ran around and never sat down to keep it all flowing. [name removed] always tended to the needs of everyone. All done with care. Step up Hawthorn and get them back.

Our family had an in person tour and we did not find the living conditions of the apartment that nice, it is older and nothing is really up to date. The largest two bedroom unit they had is extremely small. The community is clean, and the staff members were all were nice but it was just not what we were looking for. The meals were very ordinary, and they just really need to come up to par.

Food- adequate but usually tasteless, little variety apartment mine is great. Staff very good to excellent. Need night maintenance and another elevator. Trees debris is not fully covered. Speed up dining service.
