Very inviting place. Apartments were spacious, but the materials used are really cheap. The kitchenette is very old school cheap. Same with bathroom. Lunch was ok. I felt like the serving cart, table to table, felt a little too institutional. Customizing food order wasn’t simple. The amount of food served was minimal and we waited a full hour before our order was taken. The residents seemed happy and social. I would say it’s a good place for the money. Not my top choice.

The facility is in a great location, however, the apartments are small. They only have showers in the bathrooms. There is a kitchenette and I would like a full kitchen. I was not impressed with the meal menus. I would be more comfortable is there was a nurse on staff because of my extreme asthma. I liked that there was covered parking for the residents.

I found this facility to be a bit rigid in the approach to senior living and the first overall atmosphere was not what we are looking for

This looks like the same place as Whispering Pines in Raleigh. It's a wonderful looking place, lots of windows, etc, but no real kitchen, and the same set-up with managers living on site, and dinner being like a boarding school, where you HAVE to be in your seat at a given time and then be quiet while they come in and read what is for dinner that day. Too restricted and regimented. (Also at Whispering Pines the manager was somewhat "not caring" about a lot of our issues and was almost rude about some. But that has no bearing on Bella Vista, just saying though.) Bella Vista is probably prettier because of the gorgeous setting, but still too much cookie-cutter and similar to ours here. (I love the awesome wooden floors in the apartment Tammy sent me pictures of! THAT is what an apartment should look like! Windows all over and wooden floors! LOVE IT!) Other than the whole dinner thing, and there being no real kitchen, the place itself looks real nice and I know they do a great job with the layout. You never feel lost in the halls, like at some places. It's very smartly arranged and has a nice open feeling.

Cottonwood was a nice facility and good location, but only offered independent living. I think if we are going to move my MIL that we should go to a facility that can handle longer term care if needed.

Mom lives here.Continuous roach problem in room. Staff managers friendly, restaurant service staff not so much. Facility grounds nice.One elevator for entire building of which most residents have mobility issues.Food quality is mediocre.

Location good for me. Buildings looked pretty well cared for. Did not like the wall air conditioner units, nor the carpeting all over the apartment except the bathroom. Lunch was ok but nothing special.

Mom did not like the lack of personal washer/dryer in the apartments and also the meal times were too restricted. Also, the kitchenettes were quite limited. People were very friendly.

nice facility. Not as updated as ATRIA was. Hard to pinpoint drawbacks it just had an "older" feel, more like an "old folks home" than a vibrant place to live if that makes sense. rooms had cold feeling to them and were not very up to date. Just did not measure up, which could be why it is somewhat cheaper. did not like the "bill by the hour" caregiver feature. Seemed a little more ridged.

Dad went out there by himself and do not have good interactions with staff he spoke to.

Nice environment; Friendly staff; Food good: ate lunch and snack during tour; Looked at studio apartment: compact; Plenty of daily activities; Planned outtings; Pricey: not for middle class citizen.

This location has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. It is like family. The rooms however are small than anticipated and do not have kitchens which would be important for mom. [Name removed] was very inviting and showed us a lot of options. Not taking into consideration due to a kitchnette and not a full kitchen. Lovely place and warm people.

My son and I were very pleased when we first visited here, but things have changed since I moved in. While the place is very clean and the housekeeping staff is just wonderful, some promises about amenities were not kept. The bus that is supposed to provide transportation to weekly outings and to doctor appointments is broken down or has no driver. There is no staff here overnight, and some residents are far from living "independently." Two staff members, one of whom was recently fired, treat some residents like children and lecture them on what to say that is considered appropriate. I have heard this myself and staff members were always wrong. The food could be better, but it keeps improving. I would not recommend Colonial Harbor at this time; but we are getting a new manager in August, & things may improve.

Up in Oro Valley. No in-home care onsite. Can wear a necklace for $100/year. Seemed homey. Only a few studios for $2095.

This is a lovely location, nearest to [name removed] in Norcross on the north end. They have live-in managers and a really nice dining room area. Like the atrium layout and only 3 floors. Nice wooded area. CONS - Price is a big one. This place is about $800 over our $2,500 per month budget. No concessions. And the 1 BR apartment at that price was just OK. Only had a partial kitchen with no stove or oven. Not even a microwave. Just a frig.

First one we toured. Played Bingo (won a prize) and toured. Neat, clean, many amenities. After seeing all the others, we may want to go back to see it again.

Hard to put my finger on why I didn't really like this place. Possibly the representative who showed me around was very sweaty. I couldn't get over it. Plus this place is right on a busy road and I don't like that.
