We have had some growing pains, it is a newer facility and they are having a hard time retaining staff members which plays into other areas such as the activities, food services, etc. Instead of getting 3 meals a day, they changed the schedule to 2 meals, brunch and dinner. The staff have been extremely friendly and my loved one only has good things to say about them. I do think that these issues will work themselves out, so I am optimistic. It is a beautiful facility and very easy to get around.

Stone Lodge has many dedicated and capable employees trying to do their best to please, but their assignment is large for the amount of time allotted them. This is especially true of the housekeeper who always serves us in the dining room. I believe we do need improvements in our hallways. Most of our food is good, but would enjoy more variety and less pasta.

This community was awesome but it was way to expensive for us. The tour guide was not there for the appointment and no one else knew about the appointment when we arrived.

Our food could and should be more compatible to seniors. Some have false teeth and have a hard time digesting and chewing it. We made problems with some spice in the food. We have repeat of pasta food and ride with no flavor. Desserts, could be much more appealing, we need something to look forward to more ice cream!

The meals have really declined in the last two months, and there is a two-hour window of service time for the food. The residents are very accepting and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this community as long as you know meals are an issue.

Alexis Estates is a lovely facility. It is very well appointed. It is small of course when you come from a home to an apartment it can be shocking. The advertising that they do coming from the cooperate office is not factual. They advertise independent living, but about 30-40% of the people here should be in assisted living. They do not have enough staff to assist everyone. Also the food is advertised with a great chef and 3 meals a day, which was a huge plus, but that is not the case here. The army has much better food than what is served here. The food is not presented well, and does not look good when it comes out. An evening meal on Sunday would be hot dogs and beans, which for the amount of money being spent, we should not get hot dogs and beans.

Has some of what we need but not enough

I've spoken many times to the present management, and they're always very engaging and listen to what we have to say. But some of the things aren't being handled the way they should be. The food is not up to par. My loved one tells me it's not good, and his fellow residents say the same. They serve a lot of filler, a lot of pastas, and it's not what it should be. They don't have options really. If you don't like a meal, they could probably make you a sandwich. I think for as much as we're paying, the food should be better. Also, it can take a long time for things to be fixed. The TV keeps going out, and they won't make the upgrade to cable/tv system. After being here a few months, some of the washers/dryers are still not working. Management says they're on order. But the overall facility is lovely. The layout and aesthetics are nice, and it's very clean. I think they have a lot of great activities for the residents They people are friendly. And because it's a retirement community, you can come and go as you please.

I can see my mother living at this facility. I like that the managers live on premises with 24 hour care. This facility is one facility we will keep on our list.

Activities are somewhat limited, there is a card game our loved one participates in, and our loved one was very excited to hear about the outings but unfortunately the only outings they take are to the mall for 2 hours. He does enjoy his balcony and being outside. The dining room was closed during the lock down which lasted a couple of months, but the food is just not good, accordingly to our loved one it is very salty

Make sure you know that it definitely isn't close to an assisted living facility. It's very much so independent living. So make sure that your family member is aware of that and capable of doing everything on their own. The staff were fine. Sometimes I saw the front desk treating some of the residents a bit like children, for instance getting upset if they were there a little early for dinner. I just didn't think that was necessary. But overall, they were nice enough. I would recommend them to others. The other residents seemed happy enough.

This person seemed to forget that we had an appointment. I called and she postponed until 3 as she was in another meeting at the time of our appointment. She invited me to come in person which I thought was inappropriate with the coronavirus. She said they do not have a virtual tour available. It's almost 3:20 now and she has not called me back for the 3:00 time that she requested....I did get a call back around 4:15. [name removed] was very nice. I doubtthiswill be the rightfit, but will continue to explore it.

Three managers in the two years I've lived here. Not as uplifting as before the covid-19. The food is not the same either.

Don't put your loved one at this community. The food is absolutely terrible. If you're on a cardiac meal restrictions, they are not accommodating. The food takes 2 hours to get to the residents. The rooms don't have a stove to cook your own food. I had to buy my loved one a microwave to be able to fix her own food. My loved one goes out and buys her own food to fix, since the food isn't good. The apartment is beautiful. They put the trash in the laundry room, and they only take the trash out once a week. My loved one has to wait until after 4 pm to do her laundry. The washer and dryer isn't sanitized. The Executive Director isn't friendly or helpful at all. My loved one won't ask questions to this Executive Director. I have called the main office on their family help line. Corporate has responded to my concerns, and are looking into my concerns further. Overall, we are planning on moving my loved one out of this community.

Who can tell? All activities, gatherings, meals are shut down. The food is generally OK, but with fewer choices than we expected. My sister, [name removed], arrived there at the end of July. On [date removed], she called 911 due to extreme stomach pain. Being a new resident, she didn't think to use the button caller. She ended up having surgery for an aortic aneurism. This was followed by two weeks in a skilled nursing care facility. She is recovering, but we are frightened because there is NO staff on hand overnight. We had been told that there would be someone available. Another problem is that she is wheelchair-bound and the lovely thick carpet in her room makes it difficult for her to move around. We had told the admissions staffer that she used a wheelchair, but were unable to "see" the room prior to signing the contract due to Covid19 closure. We think this should have been considered by staff upon admission. Currently, my sister is working in PT on using a rollator walker. When she arrived at her Holly Tree apartment, there was a substantial "curb" between the carpet and the kitchen flooring that she was unable to cross in the wheelchair. Maintainence removed the top piece of wood, leaving the ragged edge of the carpet exposed. It has not been repaired as of today. It is now a tripping hazard for anyone who enters, and will be a problem for her with the Rollator. The gap remains unfinished and we believe it to be dangerous. Frequent requests for repair have not resulted in repair.

If your looking for a place to take the worry away you might need to look a little harder. The facility itself is clean as well as the outside. However, the communication amongst the management staff is very poor. That’s not to say that it can’t change but from my personal experience it needs to be Seriously addressed. If you are not constantly calling You don’t get any answers and when you do get answers They’re usually not followed through on. Anyway, it could be a lot worse but it also could be much better. The staff is nice but Management could Definitely be better with it’s communication with residents, residents family’s and especially with each other.

Coming into it, thsi facility is relatively easy to move in on the first floor. Moving into the higher floors, you are confined to stairwells or a highly used elevator, so if you are moving, do not do it during lunch or dinner times because you will be held up. In regards to the food, after a month the menu items do not change, so there is not a lot of variety to choose from. They do not offer any health services either, so if your loved one needs care they should look elsewhere with more care. There are better places that offer more for the money.

Even though our loved one did not always participate in the activities they still had a lot to offer. The residents would go out on outings to different stores to shop at, they would even have entertainment groups come in and sing for the residents. The food most of the time was good, some days it was really good and other days it was just okay. Overall when you entered this community it was very nice, but the rooms could use some updating. The rooms do not have a central air unit in them so it is hard to keep the temperature regulated and comfortable.

The thing my mother has struggled with at The Highlands is that they have had a lot of staff turnover over the last year. The interactions between staff and residents could be a little better. My mother feels sometimes certain residents are singled out more than others. They have, however, done very well protecting the residents during the Covid-19 pandemic. The isolation is difficult for the residents, however it is keeping them safe. The activities are good, however they could do better. It seems like they are the same every week and no to often changed up. They could ask the residents about what they actually want to do more often, rather than repeating the same thing every week.
