I would have to say what we like the most about the community is the staff. They really do have the residents best interest at heart. They are also very supportive of the families and keep them well informed & involved. Yes, we would recommend Red Cedar Glen to others

During my visit, it felt right. It was clean, the staff was friendly. And several residents were in the activities room. Activities director is wonderful. My mom is so happy there.

We chose them because of the, Montessori approach to care. I would recommend to others.

They treat my dad very well. I think they could do better with the food/menu. Also the laundry could be better. It seems a lot of his clothes get damaged by "bleach" and he claims it doesn't smell fresh. They should be more concerned with the whereabouts of the residents and patient. Also, my dad got scabies and we never found the source

My mom unfortunately doesn't do many of the activities; but here are the things I love about the staff: they are always coming by to pop in and check on her. The activities director comes by and invites her to join activities. She loves the staff. Food quality needs to be improved on. The meat is tough; and when we went through the orientation, we were given the option of how her food is to be prepared; I chose mechanically chopped, as my 94 year old mom doesn't have great use of her hands to use a fork and a knife. That hasn't happened, despite my notifying the administrator. The taste of the food isn't good and they run out of things a lot. It creates a lot of complaining from the residents in the dining room, which upsets my mom. They have had 2 meetings about the food with the residents since I have been there, but nothing changes. They have a LOT of turnover for kitchen help (according to my mom--which, take into account, has dementia), so it is chaotic. That is her biggest complaint: food. She moved in [date removed] of this year, and the adjustment for me and her was very very hard. There were a lot of glitches at first, but those have, by and large, been ironed out. I would add to the review to expect the move to be traumatic for the loved one as well as the family, as it is a big adjustment. The key is communication and working together to address problems/issues/concerns. There are some things I cannot control: mom's dementia and food, so I let those go. She is fed; the food menu has options and are nutritious (it is the taste that is the most complained about; plus the lack of meat being cut up for those who need it) and they have added a rubber handle to her silverware to make it easier to grip, which she loves. My initial issues and concerns have been addressed through being honest and open and working with the staff. I do recommend opting for the additional cost that includes physical assistance with bathing and medication administration. The facility is clean and smells great; it doesn't smell like a nursing home; it is older, but functional. The activities director has a variety of activities to get people together; and the experience living there is what residents choose to make it. They do provide options to take residents out to eat and do activities in the community.

Staff very nice. There are plenty of activities. Food is great. They have two standard offerings per meal time and then a menu to select from if you don't like those. A doctor available that comes to site. My only draw back is there is nothing available outdoors such as a garden. The entrance by the parking lot is the only outdoor space. They have a hair salon on site...nice. Another drawback, full time receptionist is only staff on independent living building and not assisted living building, which make no sense to me. Very expensive- [price removed]a month. Not sure it's worth that price, but rooms are very nice

Missing clothes...mom wasn't properly washed at time...missing expensive perfumes body sprays and etc. Daytime staff was good.

The Staff, activities and dining are great. My loved one loves it there at Cedar Red Glenn Assisted Living.

So far my experience has been good. However, they do have staffing issues. And if you or your family is not able to be present to make sure everything is okay, I would be a little concerned.

Care staff are great....[names removed] were amazing.....but not overly impressed with management staff....[names removed] were very caring....the med techs were both caring and loving....so everything was satisfactory except for executive director and management staff....they didn't care about residents nor being helpful to staff.

It was small and the staff was attentive. The food was good and the castle room was wonderful.

The staff is very warm and friendly. There are many opportunities for the residents to participate in activities and games!

It is really whatever you want to make it. Chagrin Falls is beautiful! I would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far! It is what the person makes it!

There are not enough activities and no where to go except outside. The food is not very good and they don't give other options at meal time. If you ask for something else you usually wait longer. The staff is nice but not as attentive and engaging as they should be. We had to hire extra help. A nice, small community that is trying hard but needs a few improvements in their communication, dinning and getting staff to be more motivated.

The community is very safe, clean and inviting. There are many activities to keep the residents active and engaged. The activities director is very creative and involves as many of the residents in the activities as possible. The rights of the residents are always considered. There are various areas throughout the community to meet the interests of the residents. For example there is a baby care area with a crib, dolls, bottles and clothes. There are busy boards and fidget books in several areas around the community. A salon is available for hair appointments. A doctor comes to the community twice a month to check on the health of the residents. The staff is friendly and knows not only the residents, but family members that come to visit.

It's better since I changed hospice. The meals are very good and they have caring staff.

The head nurse is fantastic and goes above and beyond to help my mother in law . They truly get to know the residents and help them to get adjusted

The facility was great, moms condition finally exceeded RCs comfort level. We understood that. The staff was kind, courteous and great to work with. The meals were amazing. The facility was clean and well kept for it's age. I would recommend to others.

We are happy with our choice, but we made our decision based in part on the fact that the facility was family owned. Shortly after we moved in, they were sold to a corporation. It has made some changes in both the cost and care protocols. I would encourage people to ask about staff/patient ratios, how often and the range of average cost increases and after hour contact procedures. I would also suggest getting a list of contacts and truly understanding how their family member will be (or not) included in activities especially in memory care. I would also encourage anyone looking for care to join a support group especially if one is offered at their intended location.

There are virtually no coordinated activities for the residents, however some of the individualized care was good. Without family members and outside care organizations (hospice, RMSC, etc), I believe that residents are largely on their own.
