Overall, I'm glad that my mom is there. But I have been disappointed in the activities director. They haven't made much effort to reach out to my mom. So she's pretty bored.

Dining experience

[Removed] I hold this facility to a pretty high standard. As my Grandmother lives here her personal opinions matter a great deal. Overall, I love the place because of the warm and welcoming staff, layout, and involvement of the staff. One area I'd like to point out is dining. The idea behind it is classy, socially-driven, and pleasant. My grandmother has very few complaints and so do I. I commend the staff for taking her suggestions and implementing them into some of the meals, she's a very critical person when it comes to food. The options are not always favorable but more often than not she enjoys it and that is great in my book. The options of entrees for all three meals allows them more independence and variety. You cannot go wrong with that. Being a nurse, I believe food ties into wellness of mind, body and spirit.

They Have Their Good And Bad

The good experience comes from my friend liking it very much here. It is a clean place and his room is well maintained. The staff are able to give him the attention that he needs. There has been no complaints about his care. The bad part is with the food, it is very average and not gourmet. The meals could use some improvement.

New Community!!

I'ts a clean community with wonderful staff. Everything is in place and clean. I really hope that some stability can happen. The food doesn't taste very good and my father does't get options on dinner. The meal portions at the moment are really small. The director needs to start making sure that everything is not so disorganized and that meals are served the way they said they would be.

New Activity Manager is great!

My mom has lived at this community for a number of years. They have gone through several management changes over the last few years. Some changes have been good. One change in particular has been really good. The activity manager Katherine is outstanding. She is very kind to my mom and encourages her to try new things. Ever since she got there, I noticed that my mom is more upbeat and happy. Their is definitely a whole more going on there then there used to be.

hasn't been as wonderful as we were thinking.

Mom is having a hard time adjusting at Concord Place She is a lot younger than most of the residents there. The staff members are not very responsive. The caregivers have not been so nice to mom. She is not super happy. We have been trying to work out a workers comp issue that mom had from years ago. The doctor said they could'n't see her until that was worked out. The staff have not been very responsive as far as getting that done. Also caregivers were showing up in the middle in the night in her room and she did not like that. It just hasn't been as wonderful as we were thinking.

Facility's such as these need weekly meeting with staff to remind them of the fact that their in the service industry. Most of the staff are friendly, however some are not. If you can't handle dealing with adults who are very lonely and sick. Get the hell out of the industry!!!!

Seems nice overall

Concord Place seems nice overall. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff seem friendly enough. I do think they could have been better about the information they provided when we were touring. They should have volunteered more on their own, and some of it was not entirely accurate.

Not happy here.

We are having an issue with some of the the staff. The director was so nice when we went there...just great but as SOON as we got it, I haven't heard from the director or the nurses. They keep leaving her alone in her room or wherever she is and she keeps running out of oxygen waiting for them. The physical and occupational therapists are great, but the rest of the staff is hit or miss. She loved the previous facility she was at, but it was just too expensive... so she's sad to be here now.

Better than I had anticipated given the urban look and feel from the outside. Yes, it's a bit longer in the tooth than other places but the cost difference is a huge factor. The apartment refresh looks pretty good. Lots of activities is attractive. Good cost benefit ratio. Spoke to a resident who'd been there just under a year. She didn't like it at first but now really enjoys living there.

It’s a lovely facility.

It’s a lovely facility. Everyone is very professional. I’ve never seen anyone be nasty to the residents. My sister and I ate at the facility for the Mother's Day brunch. It was very nice and the food very tasty. My loved one likes the food. Parking can be a problem for visitors especially for quick visits or picking up the resident. The day my loved one moved in, we weren’t really greeted. We didn’t know where we were going or who we should talk to but then my sister was just transitioning from a rehab facility and perhaps they dropped the ball.. The only other concern is the billing – I have to have an invoice to submit to the long term insurance provider and getting one takes a reminder or two but then it has only been 3 months. It is a very lovely place though.

Good care, but difficulties in communication

The CNA service here is excellent, my Dad can be a difficult man to work with and they did a great job with him. I was also very impressed with the activities staff here, although my father did not participate. We ran into a lot of frustration when attempting to communicate with them. They were not very responsive in general. We had to really hound them to get any answers to questions or feedback regarding care.

Dark inside

I got to the front door and they were pretty crowded... on the outside its beautiful, it looks very serene, comfortable, like they'd be able to go out for walks when the weather permits. However, like all of them, once you get in the door you're in the dark basement somewhere. I just don't get why they don't let them have light, people thrive off of light.
